Iris:
We spent hours checking the arrangements. Markus bought everything and loaded it into the truck, but we kept the jewelry with us.
"Are you okay?" I asked Markus the moment I noticed him stumble, barely holding onto the railing outside the mall's front stairs.
"Yeah, I guess I'm just a little nervous. And besides, I haven't eaten anything since morning," he replied, shaking his head and straightening his posture.
"Oh, then we should go home so you can rest," I suggested, walking down the stairs while he followed behind me.
The moment we reached the car, I noticed him stumble again. This time, the driver caught him before he fell.
"Okay, this doesn't look good. Do you need medicine or anything?" I asked, honestly caring less.
But well, he was Zoe's husband, so I had to pretend I was concerned.
"If you're not in a rush, can we please go to a cafe and eat something? I'll feel fine. I really can't travel all the way home just to eat," Markus requested.
