Hye-rin closed her laptop for the day, still feeling the flutter from the lunch Joon-hyuk had sent. She tried to hide the small smile on her lips, but everyone around her already seemed to know.
"Goodnight, Mrs. Lee—"
"Bye, ma'am—"
"Have a nice evening with the CEO—"
She fled.
By the time she reached the lobby, Joon-hyuk was already waiting by the doors, jacket off, sleeves rolled, leaning against the railing like he'd been there for a while.
Her heart jumped. "You didn't have to wait for me."
"I wanted to," he said simply. "Let's go."
The drive home was calm, city lights reflecting off the windows, the soft hum of the engine filling the silence. Hye-rin kept glancing at him without meaning to. He looked relaxed—too relaxed for someone who had two board meetings and a lunch event today.
When he caught her staring, she looked out the window so fast she almost hurt her neck.
He smirked. "If you want to look, just look."
"I wasn't looking!"
