Steve's tone was heavy; Eller thought he was truly prepared for the worst-case scenario.
The atmosphere in the motel room became stagnant. Steve noticed the change in atmosphere, smiled at Eller, and then said, "Don't worry, I'm confident. It would be best if we can save Bucky."
"We have to try, right?" Eller replied, "If he can remember his past, I can also ask him some things."
"What do you want to ask him?" Steve asked, puzzled.
Upon hearing this, Eller looked up at the ceiling and said thoughtfully, "Someone told me that my mother died at the hands of HYDRA. I need the truth."
...Steve was silent for a while.
After a long pause, Eller finally said to Steve, "Don't worry, in my eyes, the real murderer is HYDRA. If he can still be saved, I won't hold it against him."
"Thank you," Steve said with gratitude. "I thank you on Bucky's behalf."
'Knock, knock, knock'
Just then, a knock sounded at the door; it was Wanda from the room next door.
"Natasha wants to talk to you guys."
"Let's go, Rogers." Eller greeted Steve, and then the two of them followed Wanda to Black Widow's room.
Black Widow was currently tinkering with a receiver, and next to her was a travel map of America.
"They are moving in the direction of New York," Black Widow said, pointing to New York on the map.
"Let me see where the signal is staying… Triskelion Base? They actually went to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Base?"
The Three-Winged Carrier was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ground headquarters. The Locust Soldiers and the New Winter Soldier actually went there, which made Black Widow frown.
"So it seems that place has become a snake's den, hasn't it?" Eller teased, with a hint of meaning.
"This isn't the worst of it," Black Widow shook her head, then said, "They might use some excuse to lure our people there, and then wipe them all out."
"Sounds like a crazy plan," Wanda said subconsciously.
"It's indeed crazy." Eller looked at the red dot on the signal receiver, and a bold hypothesis formed in his mind.
"Is it possible that they realized they've been discovered, so they want to pull off something big before abandoning S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
"Sounds like HYDRA's style," Steve said from the side. "HYDRA is full of insane lunatics; sometimes they do things that are hard for normal people to understand."
Steve, who had fought HYDRA many times in World War II, understood them very well. Even after decades, their modus operandi hadn't changed, as if it was etched into their DNA.
The last madman who led HYDRA wanted to use the Tesseract's energy to wipe America off the map, and the current one who wants to fight S.H.I.E.L.D. to the death isn't any better.
"What you said makes sense," Black Widow nodded, and at the same time stated her own hypothesis:
"Even if HYDRA doesn't want to fight us, they will still seize the resources and data S.H.I.E.L.D. has hidden in the Three-Winged Carrier. You all know S.H.I.E.L.D. is an Agent organization; if HYDRA steals the data and makes it public, it will have very bad consequences."
"A secret organization certainly can't be exposed to the public," Wanda said, and the other three looked at her. She was suddenly surprised and quickly said, "Please, the Agents in movies don't want their secrets exposed to the public."
"She's right. Forget about secret operation data; if someone tried to publish my browsing history, I'd fight them to the death," Eller explained for Wanda.
Then, Eller looked at Black Widow and asked, "Can the Avengers help us raid the Three-Winged Carrier?"
"I can't say, don't blame me for being too suspicious," Black Widow shook her head, then sighed, "I think there are also HYDRA spies in the Avengers."
After escaping a series of assassination attempts, Black Widow always felt that some people could no longer be trusted.
Facts proved that Black Widow had not suspected the wrong object; there was indeed a HYDRA spy in the Avengers.
"It seems we'd best find some extra help," Steve looked at Eller, then asked, "Do you have a way?"
"How can you not make some shady friends when you're out and about?" Eller smiled confidently, then patted his chest and guaranteed, "Let me make a few calls."
Then, Eller pulled out his Spider Smartphone and called Blade.
"Blade, are you free?"
Blade on the other end of the phone seemed to be killing Vampires, with screams occasionally coming through.
Blade killed among the Vampires while answering Eller's call, "Do you need my help?"
"You got it right, I have a big job on my hands," Eller said, "I need you to help me break into a secret Agent organization's Base."
"I'm in," Blade replied, "But my equipment is for killing Vampires, not for killing people."
"Don't worry, I have plenty here," Eller replied, "I'll tell you a place, and then you come find me…"
There were still many weapons and equipment stolen from Baron Strucker's Base in the Dimensional Pocket, enough to arm Blade.
"Okay," Blade was a man of few words and immediately agreed.
After ending the call with Blade, Eller called Johnny.
"Eller, are you looking for me?" Johnny seemed to be in a bar, his voice a bit noisy.
"I need your help," Eller said directly.
"Tell me, where are we hitting?" Johnny said without hesitation. Eller had been kind to him, so he would naturally help with this favor.
"A secret Agent's Base, you go to New York City's…"
Eller told Johnny an address, and the latter immediately left the bar, then got on his motorcycle and drove towards New York.
After finding some help, Eller put away his phone, "Alright, guys, the help is found, it's time to go back to New York and prepare for the big battle."
"Two super-powered individuals?" Black Widow quipped, "I feel like you have more appeal than Captain America in the Avengers."
The Captain in the Avengers isn't the real deal, the real deal is still next to me… Eller thought to himself.
"Don't flatter me, Natasha," Eller straightened his clothes, then greeted everyone, "Let's go, we should head back to New York too."
At the same time, the New Winter Soldier, who had returned to the Three-Winged Carrier, also changed helmets with the help of HYDRA Agents and began to replenish his energy.
Pierce looked at the New Winter Soldier lying in the restraint chair and asked a researcher beside him.
"Have you found out why the Winter Soldier suddenly had an emotional fluctuation?"
