Vice Admiral Garp, the Marine legend, roared across the battlefield.
His two rows of snow-white teeth clenched so hard they crackled.
The Red Hair Pirates were tolerable—
until the topic of his grandson, Luffy, came up.
The moment anyone mentioned Luffy, Garp felt pain everywhere—heartache, stomachache, liver ache, every organ screaming.
He had raised his beloved grandson from a toddler to six or seven years old with great effort.
His plan had been simple:
to bring the boy to Marine Headquarters and give him a proper education—
train him into a future Marine hero, a pillar of justice.
But one oversight…

Shanks laughed, scratching his red hair.
"Red Hair! It's ALL your fault! If it weren't for you, Luffy would be an honorable Marine by now!"
Garp growled through his teeth.
"Don't talk nonsense, Gramps! I don't wanna be a Marine!"
Luffy shouted from across the battlefield.
"I'm the man who's gonna become the PIRATE KING!!!"
"Uooooh!!"
The Whitebeard Pirates roared in approval.
"Ahahaha! Garp, your grandson really might achieve that dream!"
Roger laughed heartily.
"SHUT UP, ROGER!!"
Garp's expression grew darker and darker.
"Ahem…"
Shanks coughed lightly, trying to ease the tension.
"Let's end the chit-chat, Vice Admiral Garp. We need to address the real issue now. Given the situation… do you Marines really intend to continue this fight?"
Before Garp could answer, Shanks continued:
"Fairy Tail has already intervened. At this point, you understand the Marines have no chance of victory. I'm not here to help either side—only to end this war."
"Hmph. Easy to say. How exactly do you intend to do that?"
Garp sneered.
Shanks didn't bother replying with words—
instead, he answered with action.
CRACK!
BOOM!
Black-and-red lightning erupted violently across the sky, coiling around the red-haired Emperor like living serpents.
It was the unmistakable manifestation of Conqueror's Haki.
In the blink of an eye, the writhing aura compressed into a dense sphere—
—and then detonated.

A tidal wave of overwhelming willpower swept across Marine Headquarters.

Both Marines and pirates stared at Shanks in shock and awe.
Feeling all eyes fixed on him,
Shanks cleared his throat.
"Everyone… once the battle reaches this point, there's no meaning in continuing. More fighting will only bring more casualties. I'm here to end this war. Please—grant me this request."
The red-haired Emperor spoke calmly, but his presence alone silenced the battlefield.
