Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Unfilial Son

"Will you be alright with him there, my love?" Kaelira asked worriedly.

Vairon's hand paused as he stroked Chayrith's head, falling silent. The atmosphere of the room turned heavy.

Vairon had never explicitly told anyone what had transpired between him and his father that day. All they knew was that they'd had a large falling out that resulted in part of the Aetherion Clan manor collapsing, followed by the announcement that Vairon was no longer a candidate for heir of the Clan.

Kaelira did not know everything, but she had her own guesses as to what happened. Still, she chose to remain silent and support her husband. She reasoned that when he was ready to share, he would come to her.

Kaelira let out a small sigh and brought her hand to Vairon's face, stroking his stubbled chin lovingly.

"Alright, enough with the heavy. Whatever happened is in the past. We are still family. I am sure Father-in-law is very excited to see his grandson."

Vairon snorted as he rested his head in her palm.

"That stubborn fossil doesn't have any emotions. Excited, my ass! I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't say a single word the entire time. I honestly don't know how we're related."

"..."

"..."

Kaelira and Meilan's faces were expressionless as they stared at the shameless man before them. Vairon, noticing the strange atmosphere, glanced up in confusion.

"What? Did I say something strange?"

Both women rolled their eyes as they wisely ignored him.

"Whatever you say, Stone-face~"

"Master is shameless."

Seeing their reactions, Vairon felt wronged. Why was he being doubted like this? Could they truly not see the differences between himself and his father?

As he sank into contemplation, Chayrith began to stir in Kaelira's arms. His eyes slowly opened as he stretched and yawned.

"Oh~! My baby is awake~"

Chayrith's movements froze. His eyes snapped wide open as the haze cleared from his mind. Locating the source of the voice, he came face-to-face with his other mortal enemy — the architect of his latest failure.

"DOBA!"

With a fierce (babyish) war cry, his hands balled into fists as he struck the mounds of flesh that threatened to crush him. He unleashed a devastating (adorable) flurry of attacks that sent shockwaves through them.

Seeing his attacks have some effect, he broke into a wild grin eerily reminiscent of a certain battle-crazed city lord. Just as he was about to finish his brutal combo, he was suddenly lifted by his armpits and pulled into the dark depths of a warm valley.

"You brat! The first thing you do after waking up is attack your mother? How could you??"

Chayrith's raised arms froze mid-swing at hearing that familiar voice. He slowly raised his head from its fleshy prison and came face-to-face with the wounded expression of his mother as she began wiping nonexistent tears from her eyes.

"Don't you love mommy anymore!?"

Kaelira's pitiful voice seemed to carry the pain and hurt of a hundred lifetimes. But her son's response instantly froze her stiff.

"Geh."

The room fell into a deathly silence. Vairon slapped his palm to his head while Meilan turned away, her shoulders shaking violently with suppressed laughter.

Kaelira felt her heart shatter as real tears began to flood her eyes. She turned her desolate face toward her husband, her voice ragged with sobs.

"H-Honey… does our son hate me now? I-Is he becoming rebellious?"

Vairon could feel a migraine pounding on the door to his mind. He peeked through his fingers, glaring resentfully at his son.

Chayrith unabashedly glared back before turning his head to the side, pouting.

'This fucking brat!'

Vairon's face darkened before, with a wave of his hand, sent the traitor over to Meilan's lap before he suffered an untimely aneurysm. He wiped his wife's eyes and kissed her cheeks profusely, coaxing her.

"No, no, my love. He is simply confused. He must have fallen on his head too many times recently from climbing and broke the little pea he calls a brain."

Chayrith, now resting contently in Meilan's arms, stared at his father in disbelief, as if taking great offense to those words. Meilan once again hunched over, her shoulders shaking as muffled giggles escaped her lips.

"Forget that little punk. Clearly he is defective. Let's go to our room and try to create a finished product — one more filial and kind."

Kaelira's eyes widened and she blushed profusely. She wiped her eyes and swatted his arm playfully.

"Y-You glib tongue. Don't you dare insult my son, he is my greatest treasure! B-But I wouldn't mind a d-daughter…"

Seeing this mature beauty speak so coyly as she swirled a finger on his chest, Vairon's gaze turned heated. As their eyes met, the temperature of the room seemed to rise to a boiling point — until a loud cough interrupted their heated exchange.

Meilan's face was expressionless, gazing at them with a smile that wasn't a smile.

"If you two horny rabbits are done eye-fucking each other, can you go? Us singles are finding it a little hard to breathe with the filth you're spewing."

Vairon's face reddened in embarrassment as he cleared his throat. Before he could speak, a long tongue dragged across his neck up to his ear. A shiver spread through his body before Kaelira's voice — thick with need and promise — whispered in his ear.

"I still haven't had my fill this morning, honey~. I think… we should get started on giving Chayrith a sister. It may take some time but…"

She then bit his ear, tugging softly as her hot breath warmed his neck.

"I'm sure you can make it happen, right~?"

With that, something inside Vairon snapped. Before anyone could react, he was already at the open window, Kaelira in his arms with her thick, motherly legs locked tightly around his waist.

He turned to Meilan, his breathing shallow and rushed.

"We will go over details later. Bring Chayrith to the courtyard in an hour."

"Make that two~"

Vairon locked his gaze on the woman in his arms, a low growl escaping his lips. Kaelira's body shuddered as she began to rock against him slowly.

Without wasting a second, they disappeared out the window at the speed of light. Only Kaelira's lingering squeal of delight echoed throughout the study as they left.

A light breeze blew into the room as both Meilan and Chayrith stared at the window with blank expressions.

Feeling a strange gaze, Meilan turned to her young master, who stared back at her in confusion as if asking what had just happened. She sighed and stood, walking out of the study.

"You will understand when you are older, young master. I only hope you have a bit more propriety."

Suddenly, Meilan's shoulders drooped as she imagined her cute, adorable young master growing up and finding a partner. She could feel her heart begin to shatter as her mind raced.

'Y-Young master having a woman!? No, no, he will always be a baby. My little boy. He can't grow into a horny pervert!'

As her delusions spiraled out of control, a small, soft hand caressed her cheek. Looking down, she saw Chayrith giving her (or at least what her deluded mind perceived as) a reassuring expression.

Tears filled her eyes as she pulled him tightly into her bosom.

"Young master~"

Chayrith, still confused by his nanny's exaggerated mood swings, simply let her hold him tightly — thankful that he could not be suffocated by another valley of flesh.

As Meilan continued down the hall and away from the study, she rubbed her cheek against Chayrith, singing his praises and drowning him in affection.

Meanwhile, the boy in question seemed to be in a world of his own, his brows furrowed in annoyance as his unknown thoughts drifted.
