The knights outside were already screaming as the first centipede slithered out of the trees. Its armor glinted like silver scales, each segment clacking together as it reared up.
"MYTHRIL CENTIPEDES!!" one knight shouted, before immediately regretting his life choices.
"Don't worry," Izaru muttered from the carriage, still leaning against the doorframe like it was too early in the morning for this nonsense. "Liora will handle it."
"On it!" she chirped, skipping toward the monsters like a kid running into a candy store.
The knights stared at her in horror. "Wait—what are you—"
CRUNCH.
Liora punched straight through the first centipede's armored face, sending goo and glittering shards flying. She grinned ear-to-ear. "Ooooh, it makes such a nice crunching sound!"
"...She's insane," Cain whispered, frozen in the carriage doorway.
The other four centipedes hissed, their legs scraping against the ground like blades. Liora hopped on top of the corpse of the first one, waving her arms dramatically. "Come on, bugs! Who's next?!"
They all charged at once.
She met them halfway.
One centipede lunged—Liora grabbed its mandibles and twisted, using it like a giant whip to smack another into a tree. The impact shook leaves loose like confetti.
"Two birds, one bug!" she laughed.
Izaru sighed, resting his chin in his palm. "She's enjoying this way too much. Also, that was a bad pun. Try harder next time."
The third centipede dove underground, the ground trembling beneath the knights' feet. "I-it's burrowing! We're finished!" one knight panicked.
"Nope," Liora said casually, stomping the ground. BOOM. The earth cracked, and the centipede shot out like a spring, dazed and twitching. She immediately punted it sky-high.
Cain gawked. "She—she kicked a mythril centipede!"
From the distance came a faint splat. Liora dusted her hands. "Goal."
The last two came from both sides at once. Liora smirked, took out her daggers, and dashed behind them like a trained assassin(who couldn't assassinate a single person). She spun in the air and cut off the head of one of the Centipedes. Her blade got chipped.
"Who's gonna buy me a new one, you idiot!" she shouted at the bug before cutting it into two pieces by her other blade. It broke too.
"Damn it!! Now I can't try and stab Izaru secretly!"
"You what?"
"Nothing. Inventory." Liora said while sobbing.
Drops:
Mythril Centipede Cores(x5), Mythril Centipede's Legs(x7), Mythril Shield, Mythril Daggers.
"Izaru!!!" Liora shouted while beaming. "I got Mythril Daggers!"
"Good for you." Izaru said, while leaning on the Carriage door.(It's his luck. If she didn't get those, she would keep bugging him.) "Though, I wish I got new gauntlets. Mine are almost done for."
"Don't worry," said, Cain. "When we get to the palace, I will ask my sister to get you good ones!"
"Really? Thanks, little Prince."
That's when Izaru felt something.
"Everyone! Freeze!!!" he shouted.
Everyone froze.
"What's wrong, sir?" A knight asked.
"Something's coming. Something really dangerous."
Izaru looked up. And saw it.
There came flying...
