Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: Crabbe Barracks

Whispering City, Crab Claw Peninsula.

Samwell, broad and corpulent, hunched over the table, his quill moving ceaselessly in his plump hand.

Since arriving here, Samwell's life had become incredibly busy; during the day, he assisted Maester Al with various territorial affairs, and in the evenings, he read the books Maester Al had collected.

Samwell set his quill aside and let out a sigh.

Maester Al's voice was low and trembling, "Sam, you can rest for a bit and have another cup of Marigold mead."

Samwell wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand, a shy smile on his face, "Maester Al, thank you for your concern, I'm quite thirsty."

He clumsily rose from his chair and picked up the jug and cup.

Gulp, gulp, he drained a large cup of Marigold mead in one go, and Samwell couldn't help but let out a sound of pure satisfaction.

Samwell was not good at expressing his emotions, but he felt a fire burning within him.

Samwell had found his calling in Klaeb Territory! The thought filled him with an inexhaustible strength.

Just as Lord Glynn had described, a new chapter had begun in his life.

The people of Klaeb Territory were simple and kind, and everyone was friendly to him; Samwell had long since come to regard this place as his new home.

Everything was good, it was just the girls here… occasionally they made him feel a little scared, yet at the same time, there was a hint of secret delight in his heart.

Should I get married sooner? Samwell's gaze darted around, as if his inner thoughts had been discovered.

"Good boy, I smell the scent of love."

Although Maester Al's tone was amiable, Samwell's cheeks immediately flushed, and he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

Maester Al stopped teasing the easily shy fat boy and said, "Sam, the Cleber Legion's westward advance has begun. We need to sort out the territory's laws within this month."

Samwell quickly reined in his smile, "Maester Al, I have carefully read both the old territorial laws and the newly added ones. There will be no problem with the timing."

"Oh?"

Maester Al was a little surprised and praised him, "You are a diligent and good boy! If you encounter any problems, you can consult me at any time."

Samwell shyly scratched his head, "Maester Al, I found a problem… that…"

Samwell was pondering how to phrase his words appropriately.

Maester Al put down the book in his hand and said, "It's alright, it's just the two of us here. A Maester should learn to be good at discussion."

Samwell nodded gratefully, "Maester Al, I found that the old territorial laws are not much different from others in Westeros, but the newly added territorial laws… I feel they are more like laws applicable to the army."

He paused, then continued, "When Lord Glynn told us to organize the territorial laws, he mentioned that in the future, these would become the laws of Crab Claw Peninsula."

Maester Al smiled gently and said, "Are you wondering why the civilian laws and the legion laws are so similar?"

Samwell nodded.

Maester Al's cloudy eyes seemed to be recalling things from a long time ago.

"At that time, I remember Lord Glynn had just inherited the Kleber Family's territory."

Maester Al grinned, revealing his few remaining teeth, "It was an evening, and it was still raining lightly outside. Lord Glynn first revealed to me… that he wanted to build the territory into the Cleber Legion's barracks."

Samwell exclaimed in surprise, "Turn the territory into barracks?"

Maester Al smiled and nodded, "Good boy, I was also surprised at the time, but I quickly understood later. Lord Glynn was referring to the entire Crab Claw Peninsula; he wanted to end centuries of chaos on the Crab Claw Peninsula!"

Maester Al's expression was very pleased, "Lord Glynn told me… King's Landing has the City Watch, The Wall has the Night's Watch, and our Cleber Legion has the Crab Claw Peninsula."

...…

...…

King's Landing, Greene Clegane's Mansion.

Inside the study, Glynn sat at the table, his upper body leaning against the armrest of the chair, his right hand propping his cheek, gazing at the map of Westeros hanging on The Wall.

Glynn's gaze swept over Crow's Nest, lingered for a moment on maidenpool, and finally settled on Seagull Town in the Vale.

That book, "The Family Genealogies and Histories of the Major Nobles of the Seven Kingdoms"… Glynn's brown eyes trembled slightly, and his left thumb rubbed against his index finger.

Today, Glynn learned from Varys that Duke Eddard of the North had not yet left Winterfell.

Given the current situation, King Robert would not confirm the choice for the new Hand of the King until Duke Eddard arrived in King's Landing.

This period would be about a month. Would King Robert directly preside over the kingdom's affairs?

The kingdom's affairs could not be delayed indefinitely. Glynn guessed that according to King Robert's habits, he would choose someone to act as Hand.

Duke Mace, Duke Stannis, Duke Renly… King Robert was not a fool; choosing any of the three would be inappropriate.

The person Glynn thought of as suitable was Grand Maester Pycelle, who was easy to control.

Glynn sighed inwardly; if only he were a Small Council member now, a month would be enough time for him to clear out the Vale Nobles in King's Landing… Crab Claw Peninsula and the Vale Nobles were sworn enemies!

Knock, knock. After the knock, the figure of the housekeeper, Surana, appeared at the door.

"My lord, Tyrion Lannister is here to visit."

...…

The Greene Clegane's Mansion's backyard had a beautiful garden, surrounded by rows of neatly trimmed shrubs and green trees shaped into various forms.

Inside the garden's pavilion, Tyrion took a sip of summer red and grinned, "Glynn, how was Pentos?"

Glynn naturally knew what Tyrion was referring to, "The nighttime entertainment there is even more spectacular than here; if you went, you would definitely be so enchanted you wouldn't want to leave."

Tyrion leaned forward, almost sprawling on the small round table.

"Tell me more?"

Glynn picked up his wine glass and took a sip of summer red, then said, "The colors are rich and vibrant, indescribable… you can only truly understand by seeing it with your own eyes."

Glynn's answer was simple, but Tyrion, with his clever mind, seemed to have imagined many good things, chuckling to himself.

Tyrion's lewd demeanor made Glynn throw his head back and laugh.

Tyrion stopped laughing and suddenly said, "Sometime, let's go to the North together and see the legendary The Wall with our own eyes."

Glynn raised an eyebrow and said, "Tyrion, your topic jumps really far. Just now you were still infatuated with the wonders of Pentos, and now you're suddenly bringing up The Wall? I'm even a little worried that your next sentence will be about joining the glorious Night's Watch and staying on the ice wall."

Tyrion laughed loudly, "Haha, I don't want to be a bachelor for life! How could that be? All the prostitutes of the Seven Kingdoms would protest!"

Tyrion laughed for a while longer, then continued, "I just want to find an opportunity to climb The Wall and pee on the edge of the world, that's all."

Glynn shrugged, "That's not a bad idea. I think you could also enjoy the thrill of battle by joining the Rangers."

Tyrion said doubtfully, "You want to use me to make the wildlings beyond The Wall laugh themselves to death? I just wonder if that counts as a military achievement?"

Glynn's lips curved, and he winked, "Not laugh to death, think about it… a dwarf holding a large shield, the wildling archers would have a terrible headache."

Tyrion laughed heartily, "I think the black brothers would be greatly encouraged! Hearing you say that really tempts me… Damn it, you really should be captured by the Others!"

He paused, then Tyrion said gleefully, "Glynn, I heard you knocked out the Knight of Flowers in the Baelor's Sept? Do you know that half the girls in the Seven Kingdoms want to sleep with him!

You are now the object of hatred for all women in King's Landing. It won't be long before this news spreads throughout the Seven Kingdoms, and you will quickly become the public enemy of women nationwide!"

Glynn sighed, rubbing his forehead and looking up at the sky, "It's over, it's even harder for me, this half-wildling Earl, to find a marriage partner!"

Tyrion clutched his stomach, roaring with laughter, "Haha, I should sympathize with you, at least today it's very difficult to do so!"

After a moment of laughter, Glynn said helplessly, "Alright, I can tell you the reason, my Lord Tyrion."

Tyrion said with a grin, "Lord Glynn, you always know how to speak to my heart, I really want to kiss you!"

Glynn spread his hands, "King Robert made a move, Queen Cersei was very angry, and Ser Jaime and I went to find trouble with Duke Renly."

Tyrion's eyes shifted, "Can't teach the King a lesson, so you teach the King's brother a lesson? Luckily my brother Jaime is more stable!"

Sorry, I came back late today, I will make up for it later, haha!
