"Take him away."
After Petyr's body was carried away, Lady Catelyn let out a low sob.
Greene Kleber stood silently by, waiting until Catelyn's body stopped trembling before he spoke, "My Lady, do you need wine or hot tea? I'd be glad to serve you."
Upon hearing this, Catelyn couldn't help but curve her lips slightly. She wiped away her tears, slowly exhaled, and then turned her body around.
Lady Catelyn moved closer and kissed Greene's cheek. Her wet eyes looked gently at the young man before her and said, "Thank you for your help, Count Kleber."
Greene bowed slightly, "Always at your service, Lady Stark."
After a pause, he added, "I heard that the Ironborn of the Iron Islands have invaded the North. Forgive my presumption, but when did you arrive at the Eyrie?"
Hearing that something had happened at home, Catelyn's attention was immediately drawn, "Greyjoy?"
Greene nodded slightly and said, "Duke Ned's foster son, Theon Greyjoy, betrayed the North. Rumor has it... if your husband hadn't arrived in time (Chapter 210), Winterfell would have been occupied by the Ironborn."
Lady Catelyn showed a hint of panic, "Gods, how could this happen... my children..."
"My Lady, I believe your husband will protect your children, please rest assured." Greene comforted her while extending a hand, inviting Lady Catelyn to sit down.
After she was seated, Greene instructed a servant to pour wine for Lady Catelyn and said, "My Lady, please try the sour wine from Crab Claw Point. It's very sour, but according to the tradition of Whispering Fort, this is the essential drink for entertaining distinguished guests."
Lady Catelyn nodded slightly. She took a sip, and then the Tully lady couldn't help but frown.
The sour wine from Crab Claw Point was much sourer than she had imagined. Lady Catelyn inwardly marveled at the First Men's winemaking skills.
Although very sour, Lady Catelyn couldn't help but take another sip, and had to admit... it was somewhat unique.
"I traveled south ahead of my eldest son. I was in..." Perhaps because she was unprepared, or because of the affinity she felt from Greene, Lady Catelyn candidly revealed the details of her journey to the Vale as if they were simply chatting.
As she spoke, Lady Catelyn felt her eyelids growing heavier and heavier, as if they weighed a ton.
She tried to stay awake, but the scene before her grew increasingly blurry, and then, unknowingly, she fell into a deep slumber.
Lady Catelyn's breathing became shallow. Greene, who was already standing beside her, reached out and supported her as she "slumped" in the chair.
...
The next day, as dawn broke, the eastern sky gradually turned a fish-belly white, dyeing the surrounding mountains with a faint golden hue.
A carriage slowly traveled along the winding mountain road, its wheels rolling on the muddy ground, making a "creaking" sound. Behind it... the outline of Blood Gate gradually blurred.
Dozens of swamp marigold banners fluttered in the wind, both in front of and behind the carriage.
Inside the carriage, Lady Catelyn, nestled in a warm blanket, stirred her eyelids and curved her lips, as if still in a sweet dream.
...
Between Storms End and King's Landing was the straight Kings Road, and since Stannis's army was almost entirely cavalry, he arrived at the south bank of the Blackwater River ahead of his fleet.
Although he commanded nearly 20,000 troops, their warhorses and twelve-foot-long lances were no match for the Blackwater River's vast, deep waters and King's Landing's stone-built high walls.
Stannis camped on the south bank of the Blackwater River, able only to suppress the fury in his heart and helplessly await his fleet.
Stannis's teeth ground together, "Melisandre, I want to know where Ser Imry has taken my fleet."
Before the Red Priestess could speak, Stannis's Hand of the King, the Lord of the Rainwood, Davos Seaworth, respectfully said, "My King Stannis, there is a south wind now, and the recent sea winds have not been favorable. The fleet often needs to change sails and use oars. I estimate Ser Imry will arrive in two days at the earliest, and three days at the latest."
Melisandre's deep, hoarse voice sounded, "My King, I have foreseen the fleet below the Red Keep in the sacred fire. That will be at dawn three days from now."
Stannis's jaw silently worked for a moment, then he said, "My Hand, give the order for everyone to prepare as many rafts as possible to cross the Blackwater River. Don't let them be idle."
"As you command, My King Stannis." Lord Davos first nodded in assent, then raised an eyebrow, glancing at the Red Priestess.
Melisandre chuckled, "Lord Davos, I can also help, if you need it."
...
"My King Stannis, if Lady Melisandre continues to stay by your side, people will in the future call the victory of the war the Red Priestess's victory, not yours."
As Hand of the King, Davos had no choice but to brave his advice, "Others will say you ascended the Iron Throne through her magic."
