Chapter 666 - The Vault

The night passed without interruptions, but it wasn't exactly complete rest. My body recovered well, yet my mind remained active. What happened the day before wasn't something that could simply be ignored. I had crossed a limit, and that brought consequences, even if they still weren't visible.

When I woke up, the mansion was silent. The morning light entered softly through the windows, and for a few seconds I simply stared at the ceiling, organizing my thoughts. There was no immediate urgency, no mission scheduled for that moment.

It was a rare space.

I got up and went downstairs quietly. I found Lyannis in the main hall, already analyzing some records.

"You wake up way too early," I said.

She didn't look up immediately.

"Someone has to keep things in order."

"The demi-dragon village?"

"That too. And here."

I approached her.

"How is it?"

"Stable. But it still needs attention."

I nodded.

"It'll get it."

Scarlett appeared shortly after, her hair still slightly messy.

"You two already started?"

"We never stopped," Lyannis replied.

Scarlett let out a small laugh.

"You two are complicated."

Rai'kanna entered next, her posture firm as always.

"Already talking about work?"

"Not exactly," I answered.

Elara and Liriel arrived shortly after, speaking quietly between themselves, while Vespera appeared last, silent as always.

I looked at all of them.

"There's something I want to handle today."

Scarlett tilted her head.

"What?"

"Money organization."

Lyannis already seemed to expect that.

"Finally."

Rai'kanna crossed her arms.

"You already have the vault."

"I do," I replied. "But it's not being used the right way."

Elara stepped closer.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm just accumulating. That's not strategy."

Lyannis nodded.

"So you want structure."

"Exactly."

Liriel looked curious.

"And what does that change?"

"It changes everything," I replied. "Money sitting still is wasted resources."

Scarlett gave a faint smile.

"Now you're talking like someone dangerous."

"Maybe."

I headed down to the underground level, and they all followed. The vault opened once again with my mana, revealing the wide and organized space. The amount of gold inside was no longer small.

Rai'kanna observed silently.

"That grew fast."

"It did," I replied.

Lyannis walked through the space.

"But it's still raw."

"That's why we're here."

I closed the door behind us.

"We're going to divide this."

Scarlett raised an eyebrow.

"Divide it how?"

"Into three parts."

Elara watched carefully.

"Go on."

"Reserve. Usage. Expansion."

Lyannis nodded immediately.

"That makes sense."

Liriel tilted her head.

"Expansion?"

"Investment," I replied. "Lands, improvements, structures."

Rai'kanna crossed her arms.

"And the usage?"

"Direct expenses. Employees, maintenance, necessities."

Vespera spoke quietly.

"And the reserve… is for emergencies."

"Exactly."

Lyannis was already mentally organizing everything.

"So you want total control."

"Yes."

Scarlett leaned against the wall.

"You really became a lord of lands."

"It's not about the title," I replied. "It's about control."

I began physically separating the gold. It wasn't only symbolic. It was necessary to make it real. Each part had a purpose, and that completely changed the way I viewed what I had accumulated.

Elara was watching.

"You're thinking long-term."

"Yes."

Rai'kanna nodded.

"That prevents problems later."

Liriel gave a small smile.

"And it helps other people too."

"That's the goal."

Lyannis finished organizing the records.

"If you keep this consistent… you'll never run out of resources."

"That's the idea."

Scarlett looked around again.

"And to think all of this started with missions."

"It's still part of it."

Vespera stepped slightly closer.

"But now it's bigger."

I nodded.

"Yes."

After organizing everything, I closed the vault once again. The feeling was different. Before, it was only accumulation.

Now… it was structure.

We went back up to the main hall. The atmosphere felt lighter, even without any visible change.

"So what's the plan now?" Scarlett asked.

"Break today," I replied.

Rai'kanna looked at me.

"And after that?"

"We return to the demi-dragons."

Lyannis nodded.

"The village needs supervision."

Elara added:

"And there may be more demonic movement."

"Exactly."

Liriel took a deep breath.

"So it's not over."

"No," I replied.

Vespera looked out the window.

"It never is."

The silence that followed was brief, but enough for everyone to understand. This wasn't a final moment.

It was only preparation.

Before leaving the room, I stopped for a moment.

"Now it's organized."

Scarlett gave a faint smile.

"Finally."

Rai'kanna crossed her arms.

"You're ready for the next step."

I looked at all of them.

"I am."

And this time, it wasn't only strength.

It was control.

And that changed everything.
