Chapter 19 - A Cat’s Little Prank

After reaching the rooftop, Cipher looked around and quickly confirmed the route she could use to jump onto the warehouse roof across the street.

"Route confirmed. Now then… stealth mode, activate!"

As her voice fell, a faint purple glow wrapped around her entire body.

As for why Cipher still chose to jump across the rooftops even though she had a stealth technique available—

Simple.

She had grown rather fond of the feeling of leaping through the air at high altitude. Activating the skill was just to avoid getting spotted.

With a few light jumps, the distance of more than forty meters vanished in the blink of an eye.

Once she landed on the warehouse rooftop, Cipher saw that no one nearby was looking up, so she casually deactivated her stealth.

Walking to the edge of the roof, she confirmed the direction and waved toward where Luo Lin and the others were hiding.

Because Cipher had left her observation post, Lin Wei had returned to monitoring the warehouse.

While she was scanning the area with binoculars, the corner of her eye caught a slight movement on the rooftop.

Out of curiosity, she looked up.

And saw a certain catgirl standing on the roof… waving cheerfully.

"Cipher?! How did she get onto the warehouse roof?!"

Lin Wei's eyes widened as she shouted in disbelief.

"The roof?"

"Sister Cipher? Where?"

Hearing Lin Wei's voice, Luo Lin and Xiong Lei—who had been preparing for battle nearby—immediately turned their attention toward her.

"Right there, on top of the warehouse. Look!"

Lin Wei handed her binoculars to Luo Lin.

Luo Lin quickly took them and looked toward the rooftop.

Sure enough, she saw Cipher happily waving at them.

"She really made it onto the roof already! Sister Cipher is amazing!"

Luo Lin pulled her head back and whispered excitedly.

Seeing that she was done, Xiong Lei took the binoculars from her and peeked out as well.

A moment later, he withdrew his head again, shock flickering in his eyes.

If he calculated from the moment Cipher jumped onto the building earlier…

Only about twenty seconds had passed before Lin Wei noticed her on the warehouse roof.

And those twenty seconds included climbing the building, crossing to the other rooftop, and being spotted by Lin Wei.

That speed was absurd.

Feline traits… incredible agility and speed…

Could she have been some kind of high-level genetically modified human from Genesis Biotech before losing her memory?

Xiong Lei fell into deep thought.

Back on Cipher's side.

After noticing that all three of Luo Lin's group had peeked out to look at her, Cipher stopped waving.

She glanced down.

There, she saw the two gang members guarding the warehouse entrance.

'Let's deal with the guy at the second-floor window first.'

Taking a deep breath, Cipher lightly tapped the ground with her toes—

And then dove downward toward the outside of the warehouse like a diver plunging into water.

The wind whistled past her ears.

In a single instant, her body reached the second-floor window.

It was as if Cipher had eyes on the back of her head.

The moment she arrived at the window, she precisely reached out and grabbed the upper frame behind her.

Using the momentum from her fall, she swung smoothly inside the warehouse's second floor.

The moment she landed, she saw the gang member staring at her in utter disbelief.

His mouth opened, about to shout.

Would Cipher give him that chance?

Of course not.

Using the remaining inertia from her swing, she leapt forward and landed directly on his shoulders.

Her hands grabbed his head—

Crack!

She twisted sharply to the right.

Then she lightly jumped back down from his body.

After having his neck violently turned to the side, the gang member collapsed onto the floor, instantly losing consciousness.

"Nyah! One down!"

Cipher stretched her body excitedly.

"That spinning, weightless feeling just now was seriously thrilling, meow!"

She casually took the pistol hanging from the gang member's waist.

Then she walked to the window and looked down at the two gang members outside—still completely unaware of what had happened upstairs.

"Next… you two!"

Looking at them below, Cipher stuck out her tongue and lightly licked her lips.

Then she tossed the pistol out the window.

Clink!

The gun landed on the ground in front of the two guards.

The sudden falling object startled them.

Both men immediately looked around nervously.

But after a moment, nothing else happened.

Exchanging confused glances, they cautiously walked over to the fallen object.

"Huh? Isn't this a pistol from our Fierce Tiger Gang?"

"Looks like it fell from the second floor. Old Third was guarding up there… did something happen to him?"

Having reached that conclusion, the two men quickly turned around and instinctively looked toward the window to check.

But when they turned back—

The first thing they saw was not the tightly shut warehouse door.

Instead, it was a mischievous catgirl grinning right behind them.

Thud!

Before they could react, two heads slammed violently into each other.

The world spun.

And the two gang members immediately collapsed into a peaceful, unconscious sleep.

"Surprised? Unexpected, meow?"

Cipher crossed her arms proudly and declared her victory.

In the past, she had always been scared half to death by jump scares in horror games.

Now it was finally her turn to scare someone else.

Her tail stood proudly upright behind her, swaying slightly in excitement—perfectly revealing just how delighted its owner was.

Unfortunately…

The warehouse doors had good sound insulation.

The people inside couldn't hear her at all.

And as for the only two audience members in front of her…

They had already fainted from her "prank."

Though Cipher was extremely excited, she didn't forget the real objective.

Turning around, she began waving toward Luo Lin's direction again.

Lin Wei slowly lowered her binoculars.

The shock still lingered on her face.

After all, she had watched the entire sequence—

From Cipher swinging into the second floor…

To knocking out the guard…

To casually playing with the two men downstairs.

After calming herself slightly, Lin Wei turned to Luo Lin and Xiong Lei.

"You can go now. Cipher has already taken down all three of them."

"Sister Cipher already finished?! That's incredible! It hasn't even been thirty seconds!"

Luo Lin, who had been preparing to wipe her pistol again, widened her eyes in excitement.

Seeing Lin Wei nod again, Luo Lin immediately stood up and hurried out of the alley.

As she walked, she turned back and shouted to Xiong Lei behind her.

"Come on, Big Bear! Sister Cipher is already doing so well—we can't fall behind!"

"Coming, Captain! Wait for me!"

Xiong Lei hurriedly secured his gauntlets before rushing after her.
