After having these memories, Xu Yuan only feels as if he had just experienced a long vivid dream.
It was also strange in such a situation an ordinary person would have faced identity crises but to Yuan, he feels like his mind has expanded more. His mind felt broader, his thoughts clearer, and his perspective of seeing the world had changed.
He knew it clearly, whatever had happened, logically the fact remained unchangeable he was Xu Yuan, the Young Master of the Xu Clan.
Also, from those fragments he gained, he began to understand many things he never knew before like how to circulate Qi.
For cultivators, using Qi was as natural as breathing; it was the foundation of strength, life, and progress.
He also learned some unnecessary basic things. He even discovered how to use his spiritual senses— the ability to extend one's awareness beyond physical sight.
But aside from this, he could also recall some knowledge about common cultivation methods.
"From what I remember…, my meridians were probably shattered last night. So, I can't use my Qi…." Xu Yuan muttered, while sighing in a long breath.
And to make things worse, the storage belt tied around his waist also required Qi to open.
A normal cultivator, even without cultivation, could still absorb a trace of Qi from nature. But once the meridians were broken, that flow was cut off completely, like a river with its channels destroyed.
Without meridians, not a single drop of Qi could circulate, let alone be used.
However, it's not like he got something lose if he try, and so, he decided to test it out one last time. By placing his hands together, he focused his Qi and directed it toward the storage belt.
And to his surprise, he could suddenly sense the items within, with a faint stream of Qi connected him. Inside, he saw some Gold coins, Spirit Stones, two spare swords, herbs, jade slips, scrolls, two protective talisman papers, a water gourd, and spare robes.
"Huh? I can actually use it…" His eyes widened with shock.
In next moments, with a single thought, a white jade bottle and a set of purple robes appeared in his hands.
"Fuck~ I am really hungry… but…" he muttered with a disappointed face.
Unfortunately, during the snake attack earlier, he had lost most of his items. Only this one jade bottle remained. Inside which he found a few Qi-Gathering Pills.
These pills can help in the enhancement of absorbing and condensing Qi from nature, speeding up breakthroughs.
---
"This Quest?…"
"Huh! You actually made Zero Efforts in creating this quest!" Yuan muttered under his breath
Then scratched his head in thinking. "Right now… Breakthrough… But It's possiblity is too slim."
These Qi-Gathering Pill could help a cultivator reach the first layer with ease in some cases. As compared to high cultivation levels, at which pill's effect would weaken, becoming nearly useless.
But even if it's a high quality pill, taking it with broken meridians was dangerous. It could lead to Qi deviation, severe injuries, or even cause the body to explode if the pill is too strong.
Yet, a doubt still wormed its way into his mind. If his meridians were truly shattered, there's no way he could have opened the storage sash. That means… there is a possibility that they are still intact.
And if his meridians are fine, then his first step should be to break through. Not to mention, If it's a second-tier pill so… breakthrough definately has more probability.
Despite this fact, still doing it with only Qi-Gathering Pills would be painful, since the body usually needed more preparation.
A normal mortal could only draw Qi after cleansing their body, spiritual veins, and meridians with special techniques or pills. Forcing the Qi pathways open in one attempt with pills alone could cause great pain.
Unfortunately, Yuan had little knowledge of the Beast Mountain ranges—its beasts, its dangers, or its even hidden laws. Every step forward was blind, every sound a threat.
Without knowing anything, he was nothing but prey in the dark night. And not to mention the beasts he encountered last night were nearly third or fourth tier.
Xu Yuan clenched his teeth, closing eyes, remembering the incidents of last night. "But this should be nothing compared to the pain my body already went through."
He exhaled out a deep breath.
"Phew~ I can bear it!"
He sat down on a rock beside the flowing river, hands on his knees, and letting the river burbling sound slow down his thoughts. He breathed in a steady rhythm and guided the thin Qi through his limbs.
The breathing technique he remembered, kept his mind quiet and the energy calm. Once his state stabilized, he swallowed the Qi-Gathering Pill.
At once, warmth spread through his chest, He braced himself for his veins to stretch and scream but it was nothing like he expected, not burning, not tearing, but gentle. The Qi didn't smash through. Instead it flowed steady, that reached from his hands to his chest and down into his legs.
The warmth tightened into a focused tide and his breath caught for a single, calm instant. For a second the world felt thin, as if the air had been pulled close to his skin.
Then the pressure eased and something inside him rearranged.
A sound fell in his ear as he slowly opened his eyes, then nearly fell over. "Wha—Hah?! I'm already in the First Layer? Just like that? That's... that's too damn easy!"
Still some strange thoughts clouded his mind. "But it can't be that easy… there definitely is something fishy about this…"
"Huh!" But then, suddenly his eyes knitted together as if he realized something.
"Could it be…"
"I…I am actually…"
"A... Heaven-Defying Genius!"
A sudden, strange smile crept on his face. "Heh! Hehehe!"
Then, he stopped composing himself, and spoke a sigh like a wise sage preaching about life. "Aii~ I cannot be swayed by such emotion. I should learn to have some restrain?"
Also, it's a fact that when you're a genius, girls just can't help but stick to you like bees on honey, even such unholy thoughts annoy him.
"Tsk, such a fate…" but then, remembering something made his eyes sparkled with mischief, "But I wonder if I'll get to see some real Immortals… possibly a bit with long hair, long legs, thick thighs and big bo… huhuhu"
Xu Yuan clutched his fist near his chest dramatically, and about to sink in his lecherous daydream,
[PLOP]
A bird dropped a divine bomb right on his robes. He looked up, his face twitching.
"You—! Ugh~ my clothes."
He removed his clothes, leaving the dirty robes on a rock, and slipped into the river to wash off.
