Chapter 100 - Before the Week Without You....

Jay's POV —

DAY 1 — The Hangover of Emotions

The first day after the whole "shares + training + corporate chaos" situation felt unreal.

It started with me waking up in the most illegal way possible.

Not because of Keifer.

But because Keifer woke me up exactly how he promised he wouldn't.

By panicking.

I opened my eyes to him shaking my shoulder violently.

"Prin–Princess—wake up, your kuya—SH*T—he's coming upstairs—Jay, WAKE UP!"

I sat up so fast I headbutted him.

He groaned, grabbing his forehead.

"Ow—what the hell—?"

I slapped his arm. "You were supposed to WAKE ME UP GENTLY!"

"I TRIED!" he whisper-yelled. "ANGELO IS WALKING LIKE HE PAYS TAXES FOR EVERY STEP—HE'S COMING—JAY, HE'S COMING."

"GET OUT!"

He scrambled to the window, tripped over my pillow, hit the wall, cursed under his breath, and still somehow managed to swing himself outside just as someone knocked on my door.

"Jay? Are you awake?"

I threw myself onto the bed dramatically.

"Yes, Kuya! Just… stretching!"

Behind me, outside the window, Keifer whispered harshly like a dying pigeon,

"Princess, help me, I'm slipping—"

I kicked the curtain shut so fast it nearly ripped.

LATER THAT DAY

Section E decided to drag me out to "celebrate adulthood."

Which meant chaos.

Pure chaos.

The boys ambushed me first.

Percy: "CHAIRWOMAN JAYYYYY!"

David: "CEO is here, bow down guyss"

Drew: "Ma'am, may I apply po as janitor?"

I smacked all of them with my bag.

Then they dragged me to the café near campus.

Keifer was already there.

Leaning back.

SMIRKING.

Acting like he didn't almost die falling out my window earlier.

He raised an eyebrow at me.

"You sleep well?"

I glared. "You almost fell to your death."

He shrugged, sipping his iced coffee.

"Worth it."

The Section E boys all groaned loudly.

Percy dramatically placed a hand on his chest.

"HEY. YOU TWO. STOP MAKING EYE CONTACT. I'M GETTING BREAKFAST HEARTBURN."

David squinted. "Wait. Did something happen?"

Both Keifer and I froze like criminals.

Ci lit up.

"Oh my god. OH MY GOD. They kissed—"

"WE DID NOT—"

"NO WE DIDN'T—"

We said at the same time.

Which made it worse.

Yuri slammed his palm on the table.

"AH. SINUNGALING. That's the voice of guilty people."

Percy pointed at Keifer.

"You. Explain."

Keifer calmly took another sip of coffee and said:

"No."

Everyone booed him.

I kicked Yuri under the table. He yelped.

Aries: "Kuya Angelo is going to murder you on graduation day."

Keifer: "I'll die happy."

I choked on my drink.

"STOP SAYING THINGS LIKE THAT."

He smiled without looking at me — small, subtle, devastating.

"Okay," he said softly. "I'll live for you instead."

The whole table exploded.

Percy screamed.

David threw a tissue box.

Aries gagged dramatically.

Yuri stood up and walked away like he needed a moment with God.

Me?

I wanted to bury myself alive.

NIGHT OF DAY 1

I got home exhausted.

But Keifer?

Yeah.

He texted.

Keifer:Are you okay?Today tired you out.

Me:Yes.And it's your fault.

Keifer:Come outside.

Me:KEIFER WTF—

I went outside anyway.

There he was.

By my gate.

Holding milk tea.

He handed it to me with a soft smile.

"You looked like you needed something sweet."

My heart jumped into my throat.

"You didn't have to—"

He brushed a strand of hair behind my ear.

"I wanted to."

And just like that —

Day 1 ended with my heart malfunctioning.

---

DAY 2 — The Pre-Graduation Chaos

Kuya Angelo woke us up at 6 AM.

Why?

"WE ARE GOING SUIT SHOPPING."

Aries screamed into his pillow.

I almost threw my clock at him.

Percy was already dressed like Easter Sunday.

Kuya dragged us all anyway.

Even Keifer.

Yes.

He invited Keifer.

WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING.

Keifer appeared wearing a black hoodie and sleepy eyes.

Aries: "Why are YOU here?"

Keifer: "Support."

Me: "Why are you ACTUALLY here?"

Keifer: "You," he said simply.

My brain short-circuited.

Kuya Angelo looked between us suspiciously.

He sniffed the air like a bloodhound.

"Why does it smell like… romance?"

I almost fainted.

Keifer immediately looked away and pretended to examine a plant.

INSIDE THE SUIT SHOP

Absolute chaos.

Aries arguing with a tailor.

Percy posing like a model.

Me?

I was sitting quietly.

Until Keifer stepped out of the fitting room.

Wearing a fitted black suit.

Perfect hair.

Open collar.

Hands in pockets.

Eyes only on me.

I forgot how to breathe.

Aries slapped my back.

"Hoy,hoy. Your soul left your body."

I slapped him back.

The tailor adjusted Keifer's sleeves, and he looked at me again.

Slowly.

Like he was memorizing my reaction.

"What?" I whispered.

"You're staring," he said quietly.

I glared. "I'm not."

"You are."

"I'M NOT."

He took a step closer, lowering his voice.

"Jay."

My heart dropped to my toes.

"You look beautiful when you stare."

I made a choking sound.

Percy screamed from the other side of the shop,

"CAN YOU TWO STOP SEDUCING EACH OTHER IN PUBLIC?"

NIGHT OF DAY 2 — THE SERIOUS PART

Everyone went home tired.

I sat on my porch steps, hugging my knees, looking at the night sky.

Thinking.

A week away.

Training I didn't need.

Graduation approaching fast.

Everything changing too quickly.

My phone buzzed.

Keifer:

Come outside.

Again.

I stood up.

He was leaning on the gate, hands in pockets, hair messy from the wind.

He looked at me for a long time — not flirting, not teasing.

Just looking.

"You're scared," he said softly.

I didn't deny it.

"I don't want to leave," I whispered. "What if everything changes while I'm gone?"

He stepped closer.

"Then I'll wait."

"Keifer—"

He touched my cheek, thumb gentle, warm.

"I'll wait for you," he repeated. "A week isn't going to change what I feel."

My breath caught.

"Just focus on you, okay?"

His forehead leaned against mine.

"Let me handle the missing-you part."

I swallowed down the lump in my throat.

"Okay," I whispered.

And he kissed my forehead — slow, warm, grounding.

"Goodnight, princess."

---

GRADUATION DAY — CHAOS × 1000

I thought it would be calm.

Simple.

Pretty.

No.

It was war.

The Section E boys arrived at my house at 6 AM.

And they were loud.

Percy: "Where's the Graduate? MY BABY GIRL MUST BE READY!"

Yuri: "Ay. Jay looks like she didn't sleep."

David: "Probably Keifer kept her awake—"

Me: "DAVID I WILL THROW YOU OUT THE WINDOW."

Keifer arrived last.

In that same black suit.

Perfectly styled hair.

Calm expression.

But when he saw me?

He froze.

Literally froze.

His eyes softened instantly.

"You look…"

He swallowed.

"…like I'm not going to survive today."

I wanted to melt into the ground.

Kuya Angelo stared at us suspiciously.

Aries whispered, "He's going to die. Today is the day."

AT THE CEREMONY

Cameras flashing.

Students screaming.

Parents crying.

Section E being Section E.

We marched onto the stage.

Cin tripped.

Yuri caught him.

David laughed.

Aries threatened to punch all of them.

Then it was my turn.

Jasper Jean Fernandez Mariano

I cried a little.

Everyone applauded.

My dad clapped the loudest.

Mom was crying.

Kuya Angelo sniffled dramatically.

And Keifer…

He wasn't clapping.

He was staring.

Proud.

Soft.

Completely in love in the most silent way.

My heart did a somersault.

AFTER THE CEREMONY — PHOTOSHOOT CHAOS

Group photos.

Chaos.

Section E screamed for me to stand in the middle.

Percy hugged me too tightly.

David photobombed every picture.

Yuri posed like a K-pop idol.

Aries lifted me off the ground without warning.

Then—

Keifer stepped behind me.

Placed a hand on my waist.

Just lightly.

Just enough.

I froze.

He leaned down, whispering,

"Smile, princess."

I did.

Then he whispered lower,

"For me."

I nearly dropped dead.

The boys all screamed when they saw the photo.

"AHHH THEY LOOK LIKE A COUPLE—"

"DELETE THAT—NO DON'T DELETE IT—"

"KUYA ANGELO WILL KILL BOTH OF THEM—"

I tried to escape.

Keifer grabbed my hand.

Intertwined our fingers.

Pulled me closer.

"Stay," he whispered.

Soft.

Quiet.

Certain.

I stayed.

THE FINAL MOMENT — THE END OF THE THREE DAYS

Everyone eventually left for the after-party.

Except me and Keifer.

We stood near the gate of the school, the sky turning orange.

"You leave tomorrow," he said softly.

I nodded.

"And you'll be gone a week."

I nodded again.

He gently took my hand.

"You'll come back to me, right?"

My chest tightened.

"I always do," I said.

He smiled — small, soft, almost broken.

Then he leaned in and kissed my forehead.

Then my cheek.

Then just at the corner of my lips — not quite a kiss, not quite not.

"Congratulations, princess."

My eyes stung.

"I'm proud of you," he whispered.

And when I finally hugged him —

He hugged me back like he didn't want to let go.

Like a week suddenly felt too long.

Like something was about to change.

And maybe it was.

But in that moment?

We were just us.

Messy.Complicated.Terrified.Growing.Falling.

And not ready to say goodbye.

Not yet.

Not even close....

Keifer's POV — The Morning She Leaves

I didn't sleep.

Not even a minute.

How could I?

Jay was leaving today.

A week. Seven whole days.

To anyone else it was nothing.

To me?

It felt like someone pressed pause on my entire world.

So before sunrise, before anyone in that house could wake up and block me, threaten me, throw a shoe at me — looking at you, Angelo — I got dressed and went straight to her place.

I stood outside their gate, hands in my pockets, heartbeat loud in my ears.

The house was quiet.

The sky still dark.

And I waited.

Like an idiot.

Like someone who already missed her even though she hadn't left yet.

Then the door opened.

Aries came out first with two luggages, yawning aggressively like he hated his life.

Angelo followed, still half-asleep, hair a total mess.

And then…

Her.

Jay.

In a simple hoodie, messy ponytail, eyes still puffy from sleep.

And she still looked like the only person my eyes could focus on.

She didn't see me at first.

She was walking toward the car, dragging her bag, mumbling something under her breath.

Then her gaze lifted—

And she froze.

Her steps stopped.

Her eyes widened a little.

And then her voice came out soft, surprised.

"…Keifer?"

I walked toward her before she could say anything else.

Angelo noticed me.

His brows furrowed so deep I swear I saw murder awaken in his soul.

"WHY ARE YOU HERE AT—"

I raised a hand to silence him.

He surprisingly shut up.

Probably because he was too sleepy to fight me at 5:30 AM.

Good.

I stopped right in front of Jay.

Her fingers immediately tightened around the strap of her bag.

"You're early," she whispered.

"I didn't want to miss you."

Her breath hitched.

That tiny sound… I felt it in my spine.

She opened her mouth like she wanted to joke, tease, deflect — Jay always did that when she felt too much.

So I stepped closer.

Close enough that she had to tilt her head up to look at me.

Close enough to make her forget every smart comeback she wanted to say.

"You're leaving," I said quietly.

She nodded. "Just a week."

"I know…"

My voice cracked a little.

I hoped she didn't notice.

She noticed.

Her expression softened — that gentle, heartbreaking softness she only ever showed when no one else was looking.

"Keifer…" she whispered.

I reached for her bag.

She let go immediately.

Of course she did.

I set it down on the ground.

Then I cupped her face with both hands.

Her breath trembled.

Her fingers instinctively curled around my wrist.

"You're going to be okay," I murmured. "You're built for this. You've always been."

She swallowed, eyes shining.

"And you'll be okay?" she whispered.

I smiled — small, tired, honest.

"I'll try."

Her lips parted.

That was enough.

I leaned in.

Slow.

Giving her time to push me away.

Giving myself time to memorize her this close.

She didn't move.

If anything, she leaned into my hands, closing her eyes, exhaling shakily.

"Keifer…" she murmured again, softer this time.

I kissed her.

Not rushed.

Not teasing.

Not like last time, where I was careful, afraid.

This time?

It was full.

Warm.

Certain.

The kind of kiss you give someone when you're terrified of losing them even for a little while.

She rose on her toes, fingers sliding up to the back of my neck, holding on like she didn't want to let go either.

And God — I hoped she wouldn't.

When I finally pulled back, her forehead rested against mine.

Her breath was unsteady.

So was mine.

"Come back fast," I whispered.

"I will."

"Promise me."

She nodded. "I promise."

Behind us someone cleared their throat violently.

Aries.

"EXCUSE ME? HELLO? WE ARE STILL HERE. PUBLIC PLACE. EARLY MORNING."

I didn't look at him.

Jay didn't either.

But she laughed softly — that small laugh that always made my chest feel too full.

She brushed her thumb over my cheek, whispering, "I'll text you when we get there."

"You better," I said.

"I will."

And because I knew I had to let her go…

I picked up her bag again and handed it to her.

"Go," I whispered.

She bit her lip — like she wanted to stay for one more second.

Maybe one more kiss.

But Angelo yelled,

"JAY IF YOU DON'T ENTER THIS CAR IN FIVE SECONDS YOU'RE NOT LEAVING THE HOUSE EVER AGAIN."

She groaned.

But looked back at me one last time.

Soft.

Warm.

Mine.

"Bye, Keifer"

I swallowed hard.

"Bye, Mrs.Watson,I love you..."

"I love you too"she said and then turned around...

She stepped into the car.

The door closed.

The engine started.

And as they drove away —

Her eyes stayed on me through the window.

Until she disappeared around the corner.

And I stood there, alone, the morning quiet again.

Already counting the days until she came back...
