Chapter 11: Journey to Riveria
The sun hung low over the winding road, painting long shadows across the forest path. Erin tightened his cloak, feeling the cool breeze brush against his face as he led the captured bandits toward the nearest guard post. Their hands were bound, their faces a mix of anger and fear.
"You're lucky I'm not in the mood for mercy today," Erin said, his voice calm but edged with authority. The bandits shuffled nervously, trying to avoid his piercing gaze.
Despite their attempts at bravado, Erin knew they had no chance. Not against him. Not today.
By the time the guards arrived, Erin had already explained everything. The bandits were handed over without fuss, and Erin received a nod of respect from the captain of the Riveria Guard.
"Good work," the captain said. "Riveria could use someone like you."
Erin simply nodded. Words were unnecessary. His mind was already back on the road, already thinking of the journey ahead. Riveria Village lay further east, and with it, the largest guild in the region. It was a place where hunters, adventurers, and mercenaries gathered—a place that could change the course of his path.
The forest around the road thickened as Erin moved onward. Birds scattered from the treetops at his approach, and somewhere in the distance, a wolf's howl echoed. Erin's hand instinctively brushed against the hilt of his sword. Years of training had made him alert, always ready, but the tension of the moment was exhilarating rather than frightening.
After hours of travel, he reached a narrow bridge over a rushing stream. The water glittered like shards of glass in the fading light. Erin paused, taking a deep breath. The journey was tiring, but every step brought him closer to Riveria, to the guild, and to the next adventure waiting for him.
And then, as if the world had been waiting for his arrival, the first sign of the village appeared. Smoke curled lazily from chimneys, mingling with the scent of freshly baked bread and the faint tang of the river. Merchants called out to passing travelers, and children darted between stalls, laughing with unrestrained joy.
Erin's lips curved into a faint smile. Finally, he had reached Riveria.
He entered the village gates cautiously, keeping his senses sharp. The streets were bustling, but Erin's eyes were drawn to the guild hall at the center—a towering structure of stone and timber, adorned with banners that flapped in the wind. The guild's emblem, a roaring lion, seemed almost alive in the late afternoon sun.
Inside, the hall was alive with energy. Hunters polished their weapons, strategized in groups, and traded tales of dangerous monsters they had faced. Erin's presence drew curious glances, but he moved through the hall with quiet confidence.
A man approached him, broad-shouldered and smiling with the warmth of familiarity. "You must be the new hunter arriving from the east," he said, his voice friendly but commanding. "I'm Darion, guild captain. I've heard of your deeds already."
Erin inclined his head. "I've come to join. To hunt. To grow stronger."
Darion's eyes gleamed. "Then welcome, Erin. You'll find no shortage of challenges here. Monsters, quests, rival guilds… it's all waiting for you. And perhaps, one day, your name will echo through the lands as one of the greatest hunters Riveria has ever seen."
Erin's heart raced—not with fear, but with anticipation. This was only the beginning. The guild, the monsters, the adventure… it all awaited him. And he was ready.
What will happen next will erin a worthy challenge or just rome around and train stay tunned to see what happens
