Jay was flying around the dorm room like a tornado with good hair. Her suitcase was half-open, one shoe was missing, and Keifer was trying to find his backpack while still managing to walk into furniture every ten seconds.
"Where's my hoodie?" Jay muttered, digging through the pile of clothes on her chair.
Keifer, brushing his teeth with one hand and buttoning his pants with the other, mumbled,
"Which one?"
"The black one! The comfy one!"
He spit into the sink, wiped his mouth with a towel, and blinked slowly.
"…Pretty sure you stole that last month."
Jay froze. "No I didn't."
Keifer crossed his arms. "Jay. You wore it for three days straight and refused to give it back."
She opened her mouth to argue — then stopped. "Okay, fine. Maybe I borrowed it."
He raised a brow.
"You borrowed it for a whole month?"
"Shut up," she muttered, cheeks warming.
But her panic returned instantly when she checked the time.
"Keifer, we have TWO hours left. Two! I'm not going to the airport in my pajamas!"
He looked her up and down.
"You look cute."
Jay threw a pillow at him.
Keifer laughed, dodging easily — but his smile softened. He walked to his closet, grabbed the oversized grey hoodie he wore yesterday, and tossed it to her.
"Here. Wear mine."
Jay caught it, blinking. "This is your favorite one."
"Yeah," he shrugged casually, "and it looks better on you anyway."
Jay paused. Her heart did a weird, traitorous flip.
She pulled the hoodie over her head — and instantly got swallowed in fabric. The sleeves covered her hands entirely, and the hem reached almost mid-thigh.
Keifer stared.
He stared way too much.
Jay snapped her fingers. "Eyes up, Watson."
He startled, straightening like he was caught. "I— I wasn't— It's just— it fits you. Kind of."
Jay smirked. "Are you blushing?"
He scoffed. "Me? Blushing? I don't blush."
"You're literally pink right now."
"I'm not."
"You SO are."
He grabbed his bag dramatically. "Okay, this conversation is over."
But when Jay adjusted the hoodie, pulling the neckline slightly and tucking her hair out, Keifer froze again.
There it was.
That tiny, involuntary soft smile.
The one he only got around her.
"Stop looking at me like that," Jay said softly, tugging at the hoodie sleeve.
Keifer swallowed. "Can't."
Jay's breath hitched.
For a second, it felt like the morning noise disappeared — like the world paused around them, leaving only the two of them standing in the messy dorm, hearts racing, his hoodie hanging off her like it belonged there.
Then—
Jay sneezed so hard she nearly fell over.
Keifer burst out laughing.
And the spell broke.
"Shut UP!" she yelled, chasing him with a hairbrush as he ran toward the door, laughing like an idiot.
"Not my fault you sneeze like an angry panda!" he called back.
"KEIFER!"
They finally grabbed the last of their stuff, breathless from laughing and yelling, and headed for the door.
Keifer glanced at her one more time — in his oversized hoodie, sleeves too long, drowning in fabric.
He whispered, almost without meaning to,
"…Looks right on you."
Jay heard it.
And pretended she didn't — because her heart was beating way too fast.
