After giving Pikachu and Magnemite a round of training, Nozomi set out once again—this time leading all fifty of his Pokémon, along with two workers from the Power Plant, heading back the way they had come.
However, those two workers clearly still had doubts about Nozomi's claim that he could "handle" the Grimer problem.
It wasn't that they didn't believe in him—it was just that there were far too many Grimer.
But since they didn't have a better alternative, they had no choice but to trust Nozomi's plan for now.
"You two wait here," Nozomi said, seeing that they were nearing the factory. "Once the Grimer return to your facility, I'll deal with them."
The two men exchanged a look and nodded.
Since they already had reservations about his plan, staying outside and not having to go in suited them perfectly.
After arranging for them to stay put, Nozomi slung a large bag of Poké Balls over his shoulder and walked into the plant.
"Come out, Magnemite! Pikachu!"
Using telekinesis, he opened all the Poké Balls at once. A swarm of Pikachu and Magnemite filled most of the floor space, forming a tight circle around Nozomi.
Looking at the Pokémon, Nozomi spoke calmly.
"From here on, I'll be counting on all of you."
Thanks to the earlier training, the Pikachu and Magnemite were now highly obedient.
"Pika—chu!"
"Zzzz!"
Electricity burst forth from the Pokémon in arcs of lightning, striking the bodies of the nearby Muk.
The voltage was so high that many Grimer were instantly stunned, collapsing in heaps.
Yet Grimer, as a species, didn't have much of a sense of camaraderie. They paid little attention to their fallen companions; instead, their eyes gleamed greedily at the crackling electric Pokémon before them.
"Mu—uuk!"
Their eyes flared red—like starving Snorlax spotting a mountain of food.
The Grimer immediately abandoned the powerless generators and lunged toward the Pikachu and Magnemite instead.
"It's time—everyone, fall back!"
Nozomi shouted the order, commanding Pikachu and Magnemite to retreat.
His plan was working: lure the Grimer out of the Power Plant using the electric Pokémon. So far, phase one was going well.
Neither Pikachu nor Magnemite dared to linger.
There were so many Grimer that even the Power Plant workers weren't the only ones scared—Nozomi's Pokémon were, too.
The Power Plant soon became a chaotic scene:
Three humans ran in front—Nozomi and the two workers—followed by a crowd of Pikachu and Magnemite, and behind them surged a mass of Grimer, oozing forward in a relentless, filthy wave.
The facility wasn't small, but it didn't take long before the group burst out into the open air.
As they reached the outer grounds, they ran straight into Officer Jenny, who was arriving from the opposite direction.
"What in the world are you doing?!" Jenny exclaimed, staring at the bizarre procession.
"Run!"
The two workers shouted at her urgently.
Jenny blinked, about to question them, when Nozomi grabbed her arm and started running.
"Wait—what are you doing?! Let go of me!"
Caught off guard by the stranger's grip, Jenny struggled furiously.
But Nozomi's body had been enhanced by the system—and with his telekinesis, there was no chance she could break free.
"Don't move—just look behind you!" he shouted, exasperated.
Jenny turned her head—and instantly fell silent.
From the Power Plant's gate poured a wave of Grimer, countless layers of slimy sludge tumbling over one another like a toxic mudslide.
"My motorcycle!"
Jenny watched in horror as her precious bike was swallowed whole by the ooze.
Her heart gave a painful cry. That was the one she'd saved for months to buy!
"Nozomi, where are we going?!" one of the workers yelled while running.
"To the coast!"
If they kept heading forward, they'd reach the city center—and many citizens still lived in Gringey City. Nozomi couldn't let the Grimer rampage into the urban area. Saving the Power Plant at the cost of civilian safety would make no sense.
"Everyone, turn right—now!"
Under Nozomi's command, Pikachu and Magnemite veered sharply, leading the horde of Grimer toward the sea.
"You two can go now!" he called to the workers. The next stage wasn't something they could help with—it was better for them to get clear.
"Understood!"
The two men sighed in relief. They had never in their lives experienced so much chaos in a single hour.
"Hold on tight!"
Nozomi threw out a Poké Ball, and Metagross materialized before them. Stepping onto its back, Nozomi pulled Jenny up and told her to hang on.
"Return, everyone!"
He recalled all the Pikachu and Magnemite into their Poké Balls.
As the electric Pokémon vanished, the Grimer lost their targets and roared in anger.
One especially massive Muk slithered forward, pointing at Nozomi and bellowing furiously. Then the entire mob launched their attack—Sludge Bombs, Toxic clouds, and other poisonous moves rained down toward them.
Faced with the overwhelming assault, Nozomi made his move.
"Go, Mewtwo!"
He hurled the Master Ball.
Bang!
Mewtwo appeared in midair, its gaze narrowing as it took in the scene.
It sensed the hostility immediately—and seeing a swarm of Grimer daring to attack it made its expression harden.
Without hesitation, Mewtwo unleashed Psychic.
Wumm—!
A powerful wave of mental energy burst outward from Mewtwo, sweeping across the entire area.
Every Grimer and Muk it touched collapsed instantly, completely losing their ability to fight.
One move—just one—and the entire horde was defeated.
Officer Jenny could only gape in shock.
But the psychic blast hadn't only wiped out the Grimer and Muk—it had also annihilated part of the coastal highway and the surrounding streetlights.
The asphalt cracked apart from the sheer psychic pressure, and the light poles exploded like fireworks.
"Good thing I thought twice before letting Mewtwo fight inside the Power Plant," Nozomi thought grimly.
He imagined what would've happened if Mewtwo had used Psychic inside—machines exploding, the entire plant reduced to rubble, and himself facing a mountain of legal debt.
Just thinking about it made him shiver.
