Seungcheol and Minghao settled themselves as they ordered something to eat.
Because Seungcheol's mood became low again he ordered some beer for himself planning to drown in his sorrow.
Seeing him like that Minghao too ordered Soju and some side dishes that goes well with alcohol while also ordering two bowls of Sujebi for himself and Seungcheol.
Seungcheol looked at him with a puzzled gaze and asked, " Myungho, I have noticed that whenever we visit this restaurant you always order the same thing. Do you like Sujebi so much? Don't you get tired of it?"
Minghao was typing something on his phone before looking up at Seungcheol and answering, " Hmm? Ah yes, I really like Sujebi a lot. In this life I will never get tired of Sujebi"
Hearing Minghao's response Seungcheol just raised his eyebrow in amusement. For some reason his words sounded like a promise. But... promise to whom? To Sujebi??
It didn't take long for the things they ordered to be served. Seungcheol reached out to take the glass of beer, seeing that Minghao asked, " Hyung, if you don't mind, can you tell me what happened between you and Sara?"
" Though I know you both got into a big fight today but I still don't know the reason. Can you tell me?"
Seungcheol glanced at Minghao before taking a sip of his beer. He felt surprised because Minghao doesn't usually actively asks such questions. Whenever someone feels troubled and wants to share their feelings with him he waits patiently until the person beside him to open up. Minghao is being unusual today.
But still he recounted the things that happened earlier and told Minghao everything honestly.
Actually he didn't like the idea of sharing how he was cheated on by his girlfriend but he knows that Minghao has a strong ability to differentiate between right and wrong and he is a very clear headed person so he wants to know what Minghao has to say about the things that happened between him and Sara.
He has been in doubt for a while now, asking himself if he is the one who is really in the wrong? He couldn't help but think that maybe he has wronged Sara. His brain is in a mess right now and he doesn't know what to do next. If talking to Minghao clears up his mind then why not?
So after telling Minghao everything that happened earlier and also about his doubts and feelings about Sara and their relationship Seungcheol asked for Minghao's opinion.
But actually somewhere deep inside he wanted Minghao to take his side, to comfort him by saying that the things that happened weren't his fault. Probably that's why he didn't speak about his complicated feelings towards Jeonghan or maybe because he doesn't want anyone to know about his feelings for Jeonghan, he didn't mention Jeonghan at all.
Minghao thought for a moment, contemplating seriously and deeply before saying, " As you are asking me, I would say that both of you are at fault in this situation and no one would be able to determine whose fault is more or whose is less"
Minghao's reply made Seungcheol feel a bit down. This wasn't the reply he was anticipating so he sulkingly asked, " Why is it my fault? I tried my best to fall in love with her but I just couldn't bring myself to do it."
Minghao looked at Seungcheol with serious expression and said, "Hyung's been in relationship with Sara for a while now so you must know clearly how much she loves you but if you don't reciprocate her with the same amount of love then how could this be a balanced relationship?"
" No one knows better than you how painful the unbalanced relationship could be."
The last sentence made Seungcheol look up at Minghao in surprise as he whispered, " So you know....."
To which Minghao smiled sadly and said, " How could I not know when hyung makes it so obvious. And not just me, many of our friends knows about your feelings towards Jeonghan hyung".
Minghao sat straight and said,
"Hyung, if you are unable to move on from Jeonghan hyung then you should find a person who doesn't care about wanting your whole heart or they are okay with you not reciprocating the amount of love they give you. But Sara is clearly a person who wants your whole attention to be on her, you should have known that, no, you do actually know that."
Yes, Seungcheol knew that from the start but exactly because she is a person who likes to act clingy that Seungcheol decided to date her. He thought that with her occupying more of his time he won't have time to think about Jeonghan and gradually forget about Jeonghan but he was wrong.
Instead he unknowingly ended up hurting Sara due to his selfishness.
" But that doesn't excuses her behaviour. You did try your best to treat her well. Even though you had feelings for Jeonghan hyung you didn't act upon your feelings and weren't unfaithful to her so she is in the wrong too"
Minghao sighed and said, " Feelings are so complicated to understand but if we see from the point of view of feelings then you are at fault but if we see from the point of view of morals then she is at fault"
Seungcheol felt that he did the right thing by telling Minghao everything. He was feeling clear headed and light after talking to him as if the weight that had settled on his heart has been lifted. It also made him reflect upon himself and made him want to correct the wrong things he did.
But.
"Where am I gonna find a person who loves me but doesn't care about me reciprocating their feelings?" Seungcheol said bitterly as he downed his glass of beer.
After hearing Seungcheol say that Minghao went quiet for a while as he kept playing with the hand pulled dough with his spoon.
Finally he rested the spoon in the bowl and said, " Would you consider me hyung?"
Minghao's voice was soft but it sounds like a thunderclap to Seungcheol. He wasn't expecting any answer from Minghao when he asked that question but to get an answer, that too such an unbelievable answer made Seungcheol unable to respond for a while.
When he came to his senses Seungcheol asked in disbelief, " Do you know what you are saying?!!"
To Minghao such a response from Seungcheol was within his expectations so he calmly said, " Yes I know. I'm asking you hyung, will you consider me? Will you allow me to love you?"
Seungcheol looked at Minghao with wide eyes. His heart thudding harder than ever in his chest.
