Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: Woof?

Chapter 116: Woof?

"Has his soul completely dissipated?"

Kael asked in a low, dark voice.

"Cluck, cluck, cluck! —No! Old-timer! He's just in a severe trance..." Kun Kun hurriedly explained.

Kael looked at Haru skeptically.

Haru was sitting on the edge of the bed, his head drooping low. His eyes were frighteningly empty, devoid of any human emotion.

"This..."

Kael's mouth gaped open, his expression looking like he was constipated.

"You turned him into an idiot, didn't you!"

He turned to look at Goldie and Kun Kun.

Goldie shook his head innocently and stepped back behind Kun Kun, starting to shift the blame.

Only Kun Kun continued to chatter with self-satisfaction.

"He's not an idiot yet... My dance just made him a bit autistic! His spirit has been traumatized, but it's not permanent. After a period of recovery, he'll be just like a normal person, no lasting damage. But for now... his brain is having some issues..."

Seeing Kael's expression darken, Goldie quickly kicked Kun Kun from behind, signaling him with his eyes to watch the boss's mood.

Kun Kun, who had stumbled from the kick, glared angrily at Goldie. But seeing the look in Goldie's eyes, he instantly understood. He stiffly rotated his head three hundred and sixty degrees, twisting his long neck like a pretzel.

He shrugged vaguely at Kael.

"Cluck, cluck, cluck! —He's just mentally unstable, not a vegetable... Okay... I admit, I almost lost control and nearly turned him into a fool, but Goldie stopped me... You can ask him anything now, Master."

Kael looked at Kun Kun suspiciously. "Really?"

"Cluck, cluck! —Really!"

Hearing this, Kael bent down and gently tapped Haru's head. Haru slowly tilted his head to look at him. His eyes finally showed signs of life, but they were still very dull.

He looked at Goldie nearby, and Goldie suddenly had a bad feeling.

Then, Haru hesitantly opened his mouth.

"Woof, woof, woof?"

Kael: "..."

He looked at Goldie in disbelief.

"What is he doing?"

Goldie's expression looked like he had eaten something foul. He hesitated, then said, "Is it possible that he's speaking?"

"Can you understand him?"

Goldie shook his head in confusion.

Are you kidding? We're not even the same species! How could I understand him?!

"Cluck, cluck! —Uh... that doesn't seem right. Maybe he forgot how to speak human?" Kun Kun remarked reservedly from the side.

Kael's face looked grim. Haru wasn't a synthesized summon like Goldie. Even Goldie didn't understand the barking, so how could he?

"Can you speak human language?"

Kael looked at the still-dazed Haru, continuing to attempt communication.

"Abba... abba... abba..."

Kael: "..."

Seeing Kael trembling with cold rage, Goldie gloatingly bumped Kun Kun with his shoulder.

"Little Kun! Look what you did! What kind of mess is this?"

Kun Kun took a deep breath, forcing a calm smile on his face, pretending he heard nothing.

"Master, don't get mad at me... I'm just a chicken following orders..."

Kael comforted himself internally.

It's okay, no rush. At least he can make human sounds now. At least he can make human sounds. Take it slow...

Just then, an uninvited guest barged in.

"Someone said they saw a stranger enter Haru's house! Where are they?!"

A short, stout man with a beard pushed the door open and stormed in. He stopped mid-sentence, freezing in the doorway as he stared blankly at Kael, who was sitting face-to-face with his good brother, seemingly struggling to communicate.

He turned his wooden gaze to Haru.

Haru, who originally had sharp features and could be considered a handsome older man, now looked like a babbling three-year-old. He wore an unconscious, sweet smile, but his eyes lacked luster. The eerie feeling that he was possessed by a ghost made the bearded man break out in goosebumps.

"What happened to you, Haru?!"

The stout man rushed toward Haru, his face full of grief.

At this moment, Little Gray squeezed his head in from outside, looking curiously at the man. The only thing missing was a slice of watermelon in his paws.

Although he had sensed the man's arrival long ago, the chakra reaction was so weak there was no need to worry, so he let him in. Now, he just wanted to watch the drama.

Goldie was squeezed into the corner of the room, looking aggrieved, but he was equally curious about how the situation would unfold.

The stout man finally snapped out of his shock and turned his head angrily to look at Kael.

The astonishing killing intent made Kun Kun want to scurry away like a rat.

Although he didn't know what Kael had done to his friend to make Haru look like he had lost his soul, the man knew that as long as he subdued Kael, all problems would be solved.

The stout man began to form hand seals.

In the blink of an eye, he opened his mouth wide, and a scorching heat spewed forth. The wildly boiling temperature seemed ready to ignite the entire room.

Kael just looked at him expressionlessly. The next moment, the temperature in the room skyrocketed.

A crimson fireball, two meters in diameter, erupted from the man's mouth. The extreme heat caused the wooden furniture in the room to spontaneously combust. The fireball traced a short arc toward Kael. Along its path, the air itself visibly distorted.

This was clearly due to the intense heat affecting the space!

Feeling the earth-shattering power of the fireball, Kun Kun's face turned pale.

If that jutsu actually hits him, Kael might actually lose a single hair!
