Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: The Onslaught

Chapter 120: The Onslaught

"Kamui!"

"Void Spikes!"

Kael's two space-time summons were the first to attack.

The Void Mouse focused its gaze on Dodai, the leader of the Cloud ninja. Dodai's hair stood on end as a strong sense of danger washed over him.

He looked around, his body tense to the extreme, but couldn't locate the source of the threat. This actually made him relax slightly.

But two seconds later, a powerful tearing sensation enveloped him, as if the space around him was twisting into a vortex, threatening to drag him in.

Dodai's expression changed drastically, and he leaped to his left in an instant.

The next moment, the space where he had stood distorted into a perfect spiral vortex. At a glance, it looked like a spatial rift had opened out of nowhere, continuously sucking in everything around it.

Just as Dodai breathed a sigh of relief after dodging the Kamui, dozens of invisible but tangible void spikes shot toward him from mid-air like lightning, piercing through his body.

Strangely, even though nearly ten void spikes had run him through, there was no pain on his face, and not a single drop of blood spilled from his body.

"Such a fast Body Flicker Technique!"

Kael's expression shifted slightly.

The Void Mantis's Void Spikes was its only ranged attack. It launched silently and without warning. These senbon-like spatial blades were incredibly fast, far superior to the Void Mouse's half-baked Kamui.

Yet, even this sudden assault had been dodged by Dodai.

Sure enough, the next second, Dodai's "body" slowly faded into the air—it was an afterimage.

"In that case..."

High in the sky, the Thunder-Wind Eagle opened its beak wide.

In the night sky, the eagle's dark body suddenly shone brightly. Countless streams of fine blue lightning surged from its body, rapidly gathering in its mouth.

Crippling Blow!

This was a large-scale Lightning Style attack, perfect for the clustered Cloud ninja below.

The next instant, nearly a hundred bolts of lightning tore through space, lighting up the pitch-black night and scorching the air. Trailing long, starry tails, they fell like a meteor shower toward the Cloud ninja.

The sheer power was like a hundred Lightning Style users simultaneously casting the same jutsu—

Lightning Style: Earth Runner!

The dense lightning dyed half the world a blinding blue. The terrifying current crackled through the air. This Lightning Style attack, covering a radius of a hundred meters, instantly enveloped Dodai and his team's position.

Lightning ripples spread wildly, submerging the entire area in a sea of blue light visible to the naked eye—a grand baptism for the earth.

Trees within a hundred meters were charred by the lightning and then ignited. Countless sparks erupted from the ground. Deep blue and orange-red lit up the world simultaneously in an eerie display. For a moment, the entire space seemed to tremble under these two distinct yet interconnected forces.

Kael stood quietly on the Thunder-Wind Eagle's head.

Even though the massive fan of lightning had erupted from right in front of him, he wasn't affected in the slightest, demonstrating the Thunder-Wind Eagle's superb chakra control.

While feeling somewhat gratified, Kael looked down at the space below, a cold light flickering in his eyes.

The Thunder-Wind Eagle's lightning had only tickled the Third Raikage's son and Killer B, but that was because their Lightning Style Chakra Mode was already mastered to a high level, granting them immense resistance to lightning.

Kael had reason to believe that Dodai and his subordinates couldn't have cultivated their Lightning Style Chakra Mode to the same monstrous level as those two.

After a while, the lightning gradually dissipated, leaving only sparks on the ground that threatened to start a wildfire. Unfortunately, everything flammable within a hundred meters had already been charred by the powerful current, leaving no fuel for the fire to spread.

As the fire and lightning faded, the area returned to darkness. The deep forest was now a bare, blackened clearing. A few stubborn flames flickered on the ground, seemingly unwilling to give up.

Everywhere lay blackened tree trunks charred by the intense current. Even the stumps hadn't escaped; they were snapped at the roots, all life extinguished, looking like withered vines dead for decades still stuck in the earth.

But through the dim moonlight, Kael immediately spotted the hazy outline of an inconspicuous earth and stone fortress in the center of the clearing.

He frowned.

"Earth Style!"

Kael guided the Thunder-Wind Eagle closer. He saw that the fortress was also scorched black, covered in deep, wide cracks like earth that hadn't seen rain in a decade. It was a shocking sight.

The next moment, the earth and stone crumbled into rubble, revealing the dozen or so Cloud ninja inside, completely unharmed.

They all stared fixedly at Kael—or rather... at the massive Thunder-Wind Eagle beneath his feet.

Their eyes showed fear, but also uncontrollable desire.

"Why did such a powerful Lightning-attribute summon not appear in our Hidden Cloud Village, protected by the Thunder God?"

This thought flashed through the minds of all the Cloud ninja simultaneously.

Dodai felt the same. If he had a summon like this, he would even dare to arm-wrestle Killer B, whom he had always refused to submit to!

Just as this thought crossed his mind, an almost invisible beam of light shot diagonally from behind and above him. Like a bolt from the blue, or a pillar supporting the sky, it arrived in front of him in an instant.

"Lord Dodai, look out!"

A terrified shout came from behind him. Dodai turned around hurriedly, only to see a straight beam, seemingly flashing with seven colors, pierce through the head of a Cloud ninja behind him. His eyes nearly split with rage.

But thanks to this subordinate's slight obstruction and warning, Dodai had the time to react and dodge the incredibly fast attack.

Although he dodged it, the Cloud Chunin behind him collapsed headfirst to the ground. His skull was pierced, his brain nerves instantly incinerated by super-high heat. Even the Sage of Six Paths would shake his head at such an injury!

Though he died with his eyes open, the Cloud ninja's life force was completely extinguished.

Hiss!
