Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Today’s Meal at Jujutsu High

"What's wrong, are you cold?"

Emiya, standing on the rooftop, turned to the Assistant Supervisor beside him.

"Yes, a little."

"Really? Use this."

He projected a blanket as he spoke.

The Assistant Supervisor accepted it and wrapped herself in it. Instantly, the biting rooftop wind no longer felt so harsh.

The two stood in silence, waiting atop the building.

Several more minutes passed.

A Cursed Spirit appeared within Emiya's line of sight.

He drew his bow and released an arrow.

A black arrow cut through the air, flying several hundred meters and piercing the Cursed Spirit's head before it had time to react. It died instantly.

After the Cursed Spirit dissipated, the arrow also vanished, dissolving into Cursed Energy.

"Amazing."

The Assistant Supervisor, still wrapped in the blanket and holding binoculars in one hand to observe the scene, couldn't help but exclaim.

Soon after, Emiya drew another arrow.

The Assistant Supervisor quickly raised her binoculars again, tracking the direction he was aiming.

She needed to confirm that each target was truly exorcised.

Back when she accompanied other Jujutsu Sorcerers on exorcism missions, they would drive to the site, deploy a curtain, and wait for the Sorcerer to finish. Once the exorcism was done, they moved on to the next location.

But Emiya showed her an entirely new approach today.

He found a high vantage point with excellent visibility.

Then, he set up a curtain that blocked visibility from the outside while allowing him to observe from within.

Next, he used arrows that seemed like they were locked onto their targets with an aimbot, taking down every Cursed Spirit in range.

On top of that, the arrows dissipated after use, leaving no evidence behind.

Under the Assistant Supervisor's admiring gaze, Emiya continued exorcising every Cursed Spirit within several hundred meters one by one.

"Mission complete. Let's head back."

"Yes."

Emiya dismissed his combat attire and returned to his casual outfit.

A white vest, a dark blue casual jacket, and black pants.

His normally spiky hair fell into place, softening his sharp appearance. He then put on a pair of glasses.

The cool and handsome warrior instantly became a refined university student.

"Excuse me, are we going straight back to the school?"

"It's still early. Let's stop by the supermarket."

"Alright."

The Assistant Supervisor started the car, heading for the nearest large supermarket.

In the meantime, she wondered to herself, He's strong, gentle, handsome, and he can cook. Who on earth will he end up with?

"Today's rice looks good."

Emiya nodded in satisfaction as he looked at the newly stocked rice.

"This brand of pickled vegetables… I remember Yaga likes it. Let's grab a bottle."

"Honey… I remember Ieiri secretly drinks. Should I buy some to make honey water for her?"

He began considering her preferences.

"She doesn't like sweets, so I'll buy some vegetables and make a salad."

"Buckwheat noodles. I'll get some of these. Geto enjoys them."

"This Kikufuku can be dessert for Gojo. For the main course, maybe some candied sweet potatoes or candied bananas."

Since his summoning, Emiya had learned that Satoru had an extreme sweet tooth due to the mental burden of the Six Eyes.

"For Eichi and Artoria-san, I'll prepare a stew. It needs to have both flavor and substance."

"Welcome. Can I help you find anything?"

A sales clerk greeted him as he reached the seafood section.

"Any recommendations today?"

"We recommend our salmon. Very fresh, great flavor, and reasonably priced."

The clerk beamed as she pointed to the salmon on display.

Come to think of it, in some myths, salmon is considered the fish of wisdom.

"Give me eight slices."

"Certainly."

Soon, she handed over eight neatly cut salmon fillets.

"Only Medea is left. I'll make her some baked pancakes."

With two bags full of ingredients, Emiya returned to Tokyo Jujutsu High.

"Ah, Emiya, you're cooking tonight?"

Eichi and the others were in the middle of a card game when they saw Emiya walk in with groceries.

"Yes, I'll be handling dinner personally tonight."

"What are we eating? Lemme see, lemme see!"

Satoru instantly popped up in front of him.

Everyone here had tried Emiya's cooking before and praised it highly.

"Here. You'll find out the rest at dinner."

Emiya handed Satoru the Kikufuku from the bag, then carried the rest into the kitchen.

"Well then."

Inside the kitchen, he lined up the ingredients and tied on his apron.

"First, prep the side dishes."

Potatoes, pork, vegetables... He cut each ingredient with practiced precision, neatly arranging them on plates.

"Start with the broth for the buckwheat noodles."

Seasoning sauce, a bit of sugar, kelp, dried bonito flakes.

He added them to the pot in the correct order.

"After 30 minutes, strain the broth. Now…"

He turned to the next dish.

"Start by placing the pork belly in cold water, then add green onions, ginger, and cooking wine to remove the odor. Simmer over low heat for 40 minutes."

With the pork belly simmering, Emiya focused on the salmon.

"Marinate with wine and salt for 10 minutes."

"Pat off excess moisture with kitchen paper. Season with salt and pepper."

Next, he pulled out aluminum foil and layered sliced onions, carrots, and seasoning.

He placed the salmon and mushrooms on top, then added a pat of butter.

Sealing the foil, he steamed it gently for 20 minutes.

"Now for the buckwheat noodle toppings."

He prepared a generous, hearty serving of potato-stewed pork for Eichi and Artoria-san.

A healthy, nourishing vegetable salad for Ieiri Shoko.

Suguru's favorite buckwheat noodles.

He added tempura shrimp, green onions, fish balls, and leafy greens, then topped it off with a dash of yuzu peel.

Extra-sweet candied sweet potatoes for Satoru.

Rice with pickled vegetables for Masamichi.

Crispy baked pancakes for Medea.

He also included several seasonal stir-fried dishes and a slice of grilled salmon for everyone.

Just like that, dinner was ready.

"You all, dinner's ready!"

"Coming!"

Everyone rushed to the table. Masamichi and Medea arrived right on time.

"Thank you for the meal, Emiya."

Masamichi offered his thanks.

The effort that had gone into the dishes was obvious from the spread alone.

"No need to thank me. It's just a hobby."

"Delicious."

Satoru let out a pure sound of bliss after just one bite.

"Yaga-sensei, I've got a proposal!"

"What is it, Gojo?"

Masamichi looked at him curiously.

"Why don't we hire Emiya-kun to be the school's chef?"

"Don't be ridiculous!"

The suggestion earned him a swift iron fist of correction.

Emiya, like Artoria, held the title of Special Grade imaginary Heroic Spirit.

Have a Special Grade cook for you every day?

Do you think he's a Special Grade chef?
