[Back at the Police Station]
"Sir."
Lihan stepped closer, lowering his voice as he gently signaled Taekyun.
Taekyun looked at him, gave a short nod, and moved forward.
He pulled out the chair and sat down across from Haesu.
Haesu's head was lowered, his shoulders tense.
Inspector Minsoo stood beside him, his expression firm.
"Look up,"
Minsoo ordered sharply.
Haesu hesitated, then slowly raised his head.
The moment Taekyun saw his face, a shiver ran violently through his nerves.
as if memories long buried had been dragged back to the surface all at once.
"Explain what happened,"
Minsoo said.
Haesu's eyes immediately landed on Taekyun.
"I'm sorry, sir,"
He said, his voice breaking.
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to"
Suddenly, Haesu stood up from his chair and dropped to his knees in front of Taekyun, bowing low, his head nearly touching Taekyun's legs.
The officers behind him rushed forward, grabbing his arms and pulling him back.
One officer struck him hard across the face.
"Talk clearly,"
the officer snapped.
"Stop this drama."
Taekyun didn't move.
He didn't blink.
Haesu cried out, his words tumbling over each other.
"They gave me money,"
He shouted.
"They told me to leave the car midway.
I swear, I didn't know they would do that!"
Taekyun's eyes darkened, rage burning quietly beneath his calm exterior.
"Who,"
He asked, his voice low and dangerous.
But Haesu kept rambling, his body shaking as he struggled against the restraints.
"They said they'd help drive them,"
He cried.
"But when I left the car they killed him.
They killed her too.
Then they drove them away!"
He thrashed violently, sobbing, screaming, pulling at the restraints until his wrists turned red.
Minsoo turned sharply to the officers.
"Take him back. He's acting up again."
Taekyun stood abruptly.
"I said.... who,"
He repeated, his voice cutting through the room.
Minsoo immediately grabbed Taekyun's arm.
"Stop,"
the inspector said quickly.
"He'll talk. I promise. I'll tell you everything."
[Later/ Inside Inspector Minsoo's Office]
Minsoo placed both hands on the desk, his expression heavy.
"Based on our investigation,"
He began,
"and everything Haesu has told us, it leads to two possibilities."
Taekyun looked at him coldly.
"Explain."
Lihan stood beside Taekyun, his jaw tight.
The anger radiating from Taekyun was impossible to miss.
Minsoo continued carefully.
"Haesu claims he was paid to abandon the car mid-drive.
He's repeated this statement consistently."
"He also insists that after he left the car, the victims were killed."
Lihan frowned.
"But the records say they died in an accident."
Taekyun's gaze shifted back to Minsoo.
Minsoo nodded grimly.
"Haesu mentioned two names
Jung Suk and Jung In.
But after that, he refused to speak further."
"For now, if we assume those two are involved,"
Minsoo continued,
"then according to Haesu, the murders happened after he left the vehicle."
"But the accident occurred shortly afterward,"
Minsoo added.
"Near the shopping mall."
"The location Haesu pointed out is far away.
That area was still under construction three years ago.
There were very few cameras, and we couldn't recover any footage from that time."
Taekyun's voice was sharp.
"How far is the distance between the point Haesu abandoned the car and the accident site?"
"Thirteen to fourteen kilometers,"
Minsoo repeated.
Lihan spoke immediately.
"Then how did the car cover that distance if Jiwon was already dead.
And yet CCTV footage still shows him seated in the front seat?"
Minsoo hesitated.

He said slowly,

The room fell silent.
Taekyun stood.
Lihan straightened as well.
"I want this case solved,"
Taekyun said firmly.
"And I want a complete, final statement presented in court by Friday."
Minsoo's eyes widened.
"Sir… that's only five days from now."
But Taekyun was already walking toward the door.
Before leaving, Lihan turned back toward the officers.
"Jung Suk died two years ago,"
He said coldly.
"Recheck the entire case from the beginning."
Then he followed Taekyun out.
