Kaga took a moment to respond. "Ever seen that incident? Everyone's been a mess," he wrote.
"Someone tried to steal the food supplies, but when we caught him, we realized the supplies weren't even there," Kaga continued. "Kato stepped in and cleared the air. He said he stored the food in his inventory to keep it safe. That alone caused an uproar. A few students even got into a scuffle over it. Still… most people trust him, even if not everyone likes the idea."
Kaga exhaled sharply.
"Other factions have been forming, but Kato's group has suppressed every single one. Right now, they're basically in control of the entire bunker."
"Controlling the food supply… the power to decide who eats and who starves," Kenji thought, eyes narrowing. "With that alone, they've taken over the entire bunker. No one in their right mind would dare go against them."
"Kato and his crew are also planning to venture outside the bunker in search of food and help; with that alone, Kato demanded we all contribute about 50 mana stones for equipment," Kaga explained.
"Not everyone is willing to part with their mana stones because they were no fouls; they knew how important it was, but the thought of going out there alone pushed many to agree," he added.
"We're about 186 students here, apart from Kato and his crew, which comes to an estimated total of 3,720 mana stones."
Kenji absorbed the information, and a sense of urgency swelled within him. He realized he held valuable insights, and his calm demeanour resembled that of a shrewd businessman, always looking for an advantage.
He reached for a piece of cold meat, feeling its icy surface. It was as if he had just pulled it from storage.
"Time stands still in the inventory," Kenji mused, marvelling at the potential it offered.
He also had a lot of weapons with him.
With the information Cargill had just given him, Kenji's mind began to turn.Money. Influence. Leverage.
He had far more than he realized.
He raided one of the school's storages; he had taken everything: meat, dried goods, grains, canned supplies. And now, after the recent fights, his inventory was overflowing with goblin weapons as well.
Kenji opened his inventory window, eyes narrowing as he scrolled.
Blades.Crossbows.Shields.Axes.Daggers.
In total, the weapons he'd looted were around one hundred and twenty-one usable pieces. The number made him smile. Slowly.
That was why he brought them all out.
He picked through the pile with precision, selecting only what he personally needed: ten good-quality daggers and blades, and two sturdy shields. F-rank or not, they were reliable enough for his style of combat.
After separating his personal gear, he still had roughly 80 weapons left over.Of those, he intended to sell them all.
Eighty goblin weapons…At 20 Mana Stones each, that was 1,600 Mana Stones instantly. Kenji decided to go for 25; the five will be a commission for Kaga.
And if he added food provisions to the deal? His earnings would skyrocket.
This wasn't just an opportunity; this was leverage in a world where people were starving and desperate. Kenji felt the corner of his mouth curl upward.
"We're doing business," he said calmly.
He called out to Kaga. "Is your system upgrade yet?"
"It is," Kaga responded without hesitation.
Kenji's smile deepened.
One of the new upgrade features allowed item transfer between friends, provided they were within range of each other. A hundred steps, give or take.
Perfect.
Kaga seemed to realize it too, and he smiled back.
And so, the two of them began forming a plan, a business plan built from weapons, food, and the desperate economy of a collapsing world.
Kenji wasn't giving Kage five Mana Stones out of gratitude. There was no kindness in it, only calculation.
Kage knew the school far better than he did.The place was enormous, a maze of interconnected buildings, storage rooms, hidden maintenance passages, and faculty-only sections. Kenji barely understood one-third of its layout.
Kage knew all of it.
So the five Mana Stones weren't a reward; they were an investment.A down payment on a long-term business arrangement.
Kenji planned to start hunting for every tool, material, and resource that the school had to sell to Kato's group, who would soon be desperate for them.
Kaga listened quietly as Kenji laid out the structure.
"Here's what you'll do," Kenji said. His voice was calm, but the intent behind it was razor-sharp. "Go to the other student factions forming in the bunker. Offer them weapons. Sell each piece for twenty-five Mana Stones. That price is far cheaper than the five-hundred-plus Mana Stones in the system."
The weapons he looted weren't pretty, but they were sturdy enough. To desperate students, they were priceless.
Kaga's eyes widened as he realized the margin.
"After you have sold the first batch of forty weapons at 25 Mana Stones each, I would raise the price to 50. A controlled market. Manufactured scarcity. High demand.
Kaga grinned.
"Kenji's business sense was terrifying," Kaga thought
"I'll keep hunting, while you handle distribution. I handle supply. " Kenji continued.
Kenji's plan was simple. Clean, Efficient, and profitable.
With a flick of his finger, Kenji transferred forty weapons directly to Kaga's inventory.
Kaga didn't waste a second; he sprinted off to begin the operation.
Everything was falling into place.
Kenji didn't rest, not even for a breath. From morning until night, he moved like a machine: walking, hunting, slaughtering goblins without hesitation. Every corpse meant more loot. Every weapon and tool he stripped went straight into Kage's hands through the system transfer.
Kage sold each batch as soon as it arrived.
And the instant he finished one batch, Kenji was already sending the next.
When the day's grind finally ended, Kenji didn't slow down; he went straight to the Patreon, driven by the same relentless hunger for power and profit.
Kenji went to the male bathroom. Once inside, he took a shower, a razor in his right hand.
Afterwards, he found some clothes, a fitted sports uniform consisting of a sleek T-shirt and long, soft trousers that allowed him to move freely.
With deep thought, Kenji began to form a plan.
He killed a few goblins and grabbed their bodies, and then went upstairs. A rope was around his neck.
As Kenji dragged the goblin's body, black blood trailed where he had been. He did the same for several, dragging the bodies upstairs. For the last one, Kenji took some goblin corpses from his inventory. Then, he started tying their bodies together. He did so with a goal in mind.
