Chapter 248 - Funeral

"Born evil Uchiha brat… Uchiha Yuzuru!!!"

Staring in the direction where Uchiha Yuzuru had disappeared, Senju Tobirama clenched his teeth and roared in fury.

Just moments ago, after Yuzuru had taught him how to sing, he suddenly asked Tobirama to cooperate and dance along to the song.

Naturally, he refused.

But to his utter disbelief, Yuzuru actually used Edo Tensei to forcibly take control of his body and make him dance.

As it went on, more and more people gathered to watch, and quite a few even clapped and cheered.

Once the Second Hokage—now writhing around a tree in full view of the crowd…

Tobirama was so humiliated he wanted to die, yet his body refused to obey him at all.

Had he known something like this awaited him after death, he would have rather let the Gold and Silver Brothers seal him into the Six Paths ninja tool, the Crimson Gourd.

Senju Hashirama grabbed Tobirama, who was trembling with rage, and persuaded him gently, "Yuzuru said he'll release Edo Tensei tomorrow. Let's make use of the time and go chat with little Tsunade."

Elsewhere, Yuzuru was in high spirits, his mind clear and unburdened.

Making Tobirama lose face in public gave him not the slightest sense of guilt. After all, that white-haired old man was always looking at the Uchiha through tinted glasses.

Humming a little tune, Yuzuru soon arrived at the Uchiha district.

While other ninja clans were strictly forbidden from gathering and were deliberately scattered throughout Konoha, the Uchiha were an exception.

When Konoha was rebuilt, Yuzuru had deliberately planned a new clan district for the Uchiha right in the heart of the village.

After nearly a year of development, the Uchiha district had become fully established.

Many clan members had settled down here once again.

Of course, quite a few still chose to remain in Kumogakure.

Yuzuru was more than happy to see that.

According to his plans for the Uchiha's future, their numbers would only continue to grow.

Living dispersed across the ninja world was an inevitability.

It was close to noon now, and Uchiha clan members moved back and forth along the streets.

Upon seeing Yuzuru, they all stopped and bowed respectfully.

"Lord Yuzuru, thanks to you, we finally had the chance to return here."

"Not only that—without Lord Yuzuru, how could the Uchiha ever have taken the Hokage's seat?"

"Lord Yuzuru, you should come out more often. Lots of children want to see you in person."

"…"

Listening to the praise, Yuzuru responded to each with a smile.

As he continued forward, a pleasantly surprised voice suddenly called out.

"Yuzuru!"

He looked up to see a full-figured, fair-skinned woman standing at the entrance of a breakfast shop, smiling warmly at him.

"Aunt Yuriko?"

After recognizing her, Yuzuru raised an eyebrow.

Back when the Uchiha hadn't yet left Konoha, he had eaten breakfast at Yuriko's shop every single day.

Later, on the first day his memories awakened, he bought buns from another stall—and got caught red-handed by her.

Yuriko looked him up and down, sighing with emotion. "Yuzuru, I can't believe it. In the blink of an eye, you've grown this big. You were just a little brat back then."

Yuzuru smiled. "Aunt Yuriko hasn't changed much either. Still as young and beautiful as ever."

Hearing that, Yuriko covered her mouth and laughed, her tone meaningful. "Then why don't you come in and eat something? Auntie can make anything."

Yuzuru called her Aunt Yuriko because she was of the same generation as his parents, but in truth, she was only six years older than him.

By now, she should be around thirty-nine.

With system entries like [Robust and Vigorous] and [Handsome and Beautiful] enhancing her, neither her figure nor her looks showed the slightest trace of time. (Yuriko Uchiha)

They said women were like wolves at thirty and tigers at forty.

Seeing the glint in Yuriko's eyes, Yuzuru hurriedly waved his hands. "Aunt Yuriko, I still have some things to take care of. I'll talk with you another time."

Watching him flee in a panic, Yuriko snorted softly with a smile. "That brat really hasn't changed at all."

Leaning against the doorframe, memories began to surface in her mind.

"Looks like I'll have to take a detour next time…"

Yuzuru shook his head with a wry smile.

Being too charming really was a problem—peach blossoms everywhere, impossible to block.

After taking a few more steps, he suddenly noticed a house with white silk hanging at the door.

Tekka, Lihuo, and Mikoto were all standing outside.

Yuzuru frowned and hurried over.

The moment he appeared, everyone nearby bowed in unison.

He waved them off and looked at Lihuo. "Father-in-law, what happened?"

Lihuo sighed, his voice low. "We were just about to inform you. Senior Riko has passed away."

Yuzuru froze for a moment. In his mind appeared the image of a frail old woman, walking unsteadily, hunched over yet stubbornly refusing to use a cane.

Like Yuriko, Riko had once lived in the same alley as him.

Because Yuzuru had lived alone since childhood, she often left fresh vegetables and fruits at his doorstep.

Hearing the news so suddenly made his heart ache.

"I'll go in and pay my respects."

Mikoto immediately handed him the flowers she was holding and briefly explained the situation. "Husband, Grandma Riko's daughter passed away two years ago. Her two sons settled in Kumogakure and haven't made it back yet. Only her granddaughter is here, running around handling everything…"

"I understand."

Yuzuru nodded and stepped inside.

It was already late, and most people had long since left.

Inside the mourning hall, there was only a girl who looked about fourteen or fifteen.

She was dressed in black, a white paper flower pinned to her chest.

Hearing footsteps, the girl immediately stood up and bowed deeply.

Yuzuru looked at the photo, silently offered incense, then walked over to her.

"My condolences."

"Thank you, my lord."

The girl replied softly, then lifted her head to look at him.

And instantly froze.

"L-Lord Yuzuru?!"

Seeing her reaction, Yuzuru raised an eyebrow as well.

Why did it feel like… he had seen her somewhere before?
