As the light went out, the room was swallowed by darkness.
Rokuro placed his hand on the compass-like device before him and infused it with chakra.
Lines of densely packed seals glowed to life across its surface, gathering into a cluster of light that rose and projected onto the ceiling—forming a detailed holographic image.
"This is… the entire Konoha?!"
As a member of the Barrier Team, Uchiha Ashikaga immediately recognized what she was seeing: a full aerial projection of the Hidden Leaf Village.
Rokuro nodded slightly.
"Exactly. This projection is centered around Konoha's barrier. In fact, there's another technique in the village that operates on the same principle."
"You mean the Third Hokage's Telescope Technique?"
As a sealing expert herself, Ashikaga knew all too well what that old pervert, the Third Hokage, liked to use his favorite jutsu for. The Telescope Technique relied entirely on the village barrier—it couldn't observe anything outside its perimeter.
"That's right," Rokuro said with a small grin. "But my version is far more advanced. For instance—watch this."
The image shifted—the village's buildings turned monochrome, and dozens of faint, glowing dots appeared between them, flickering at varying brightness levels.
Uchiha Izumi immediately caught on.
"These… are all shinobi? The brighter the light, the stronger the chakra, right?"
Rokuro nodded again.
"In this mode, every individual within Konoha—shinobi or not—will appear as long as their chakra reserves are sufficient to perform basic techniques like the Three Basic Jutsu. It even detects those hiding indoors or underground. The only exception is if someone's warded their space with sealing formulas like mine."
Both Ashikaga and Izumi were stunned. The implications of this tool were enormous
as long as Rokuro had it, not even the faintest stir within the village could escape his sight.
It was, quite literally, an all-seeing eye over Konoha.
"Rokuro… this was why you wanted me to embed that extra seal into the barrier?" Ashikaga asked quietly.
Rokuro gave a small smile.
"Konoha's barrier consumes immense resources just to act as an alarm system. It's a waste. I merely made it more efficient. And beyond surveillance, it has another use—combat support."
He disappeared in an instant.
A second later, the living room door creaked open, and Rokuro walked back in from outside.
Ashikaga blinked, confused, but Izumi's eyes widened in disbelief.
"That was the Flying Thunder God! Rokuro—did you carve the formula outside the house?"
Rokuro shook his head. Izumi's expression froze.
"You mean… you can use the entire Konoha barrier as a teleportation medium?"
"Exactly," Rokuro replied. "For me, the barrier itself functions as one massive Flying Thunder God seal. As long as it remains intact, I can warp anywhere within Konoha at will—no kunai needed. And I can even redirect ranged ninjutsu, like transferring lightning techniques mid-flight."
"In other words," Izumi murmured, her voice trembling with awe, "within Konoha… you're invincible."
Both women were shocked beyond words. They knew the Flying Thunder God Technique was nearly impossible to master—Izumi herself had trained in it briefly and failed miserably.
Even when used through special tools, most shinobi could only employ it for transport, never for combat.
The legendary "Yellow Flash," Namikaze Minato, was feared not just for the jutsu—but for his godlike reflexes and perception.
Rokuro had been using the technique for over a year, his tools allowing instant activation without hand seals. In theory, his teleportation efficiency rivaled Minato's.
But he was fully aware of his own limits.
Even with his Lightning Chakra Mode and dual tomoe Sharingan, he couldn't chain teleportation attacks endlessly like Minato could. Unless he achieved a one-hit kill, the repeated movement would leave exploitable openings.
To reach that same level, he estimated he'd need at least a fully evolved three-tomoe Sharingan—perhaps even beyond, with a stronger lightning form.
"As for you, Izumi," Rokuro added with a teasing glance, "without lightning training, even three tomoe won't cut it. You'd need the Mangekyō just to catch up."
Izumi huffed but couldn't argue.
Rokuro smirked and looked back at the glowing map.
"I'm calling this tool… Konoha's Heaven's Eye. With it, I can move freely when Orochimaru's defection begins. Time to stir the pot."
That night, as he lay half-asleep, Rokuro suddenly sensed something—and sat up.
He weaved hand seals, summoning a puff of smoke.
A white snake, nearly two meters long, slithered into the room. It opened its mouth and spat out a scroll before vanishing.
Rokuro picked it up. It wasn't a sealing scroll—just plain paper. On it were coordinates and a time.
He glanced at the clock, washed his face, and began to gear up.
"What's wrong, Rokuro?" Ashikaga appeared, still in her nightclothes. "Was that a summoning?"
Rokuro nodded.
"Orochimaru wants to meet. Don't worry—I'll be back soon."
Ashikaga frowned deeply.
"Orochimaru… I knew he'd sensed the danger. Be careful, Rokuro. Among the Legendary Sannin, his power is the most balanced. Never underestimate him."
Rokuro smiled reassuringly.
"Relax, Mom. The entire Konoha barrier is my Flying Thunder God mark now. Within this village, I can't lose."
After calming her worries, Rokuro equipped his gear and vanished.
The next instant, he materialized at the foot of a hill in the Forest of Death.
"I'm here, Lord Orochimaru. You can come out now."
A faint hiss came from the shadows.
"Hehehe… Rokuro, don't tell me you've placed your seal across the entire village?"
Orochimaru emerged from the trees, slithering closer like a serpent on the hunt.
Rokuro noticed that his lower body had completely transformed into that of a snake—proof of how far his body-modification experiments had advanced.
"Well," Rokuro replied casually, "once you carve a seal, it doesn't fade—and it hardly costs any chakra. I just mark them whenever I pass by. Always better to be prepared."
Orochimaru chuckled softly but didn't press.
Instead, he gestured for Rokuro to follow him into a nearby underground chamber.
Inside, the air was thick with the scent of chemicals and preservation fluid.
Countless specimen jars lined the walls—animals, humans, some whole, some dismembered.
Most would've frozen in fear at the sight. Rokuro merely looked around with calm curiosity.
Orochimaru's eyes gleamed with satisfaction.
"Rokuro… come with me. For people like you, staying in Konoha will only limit your development. "
