Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: The One Who Breaks the Fight

"Truth-Seeking Orb?"

Uchiha Rokuro raised his right hand. The chakra surrounding it condensed into a glove-shaped sphere—like the black orbs of the Truth-Seeking Balls, except this one shimmered in seven colors.

"The so-called Truth-Seeking Orb is a product born from mastering all seven chakra natures—yin, yang, and the five elements—and their transformations. It contains all phenomena of heaven and earth and possesses the terrifying power to erase anything it touches into dust. Theoretically, any substance that comes into contact with it will disintegrate completely."

Uchiha Izumi flinched and pulled her hand back in alarm—but quickly realized something.

"Wait a minute, I touched it earlier! I didn't get hurt. And you were just covered in that stuff head to toe, and nothing happened either!"

Rokuro scratched the back of his head, looking a bit embarrassed, like a boastful claim that had just been exposed.

"That's because my Truth-Seeking Orb isn't complete yet. I've only used sealing formulas to grasp the nature and form transformations of yin, yang, and the five elemental chakras—but I still can't perfectly fuse them together. So technically, what I have now is just an aggregation of seven chakras, not a true Truth-Seeking Orb."

He grinned with unshaken confidence.

"Of course, give me two more years, and I'll definitely turn it into the real thing."

Izumi poked the rainbow sphere with her finger like a curious child touching a jelly.

"So what can it do right now?"

"Plenty of things. The name says it all—'Truth-Seeking Orb'—a power that points directly to the Way itself. It contains the essence of all creation. Basically, whatever function you imagine it to have, it can have it. Well, okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration," Rokuro admitted with a smirk, "but its incredible versatility is its biggest strength."

As he finished speaking, the orb dissolved once again into a chakra cloak—like a tailed beast's mantle—and in the next instant, Rokuro's body vanished completely.

Izumi instantly activated her Sharingan, but all she could see was a faint blur streaking past.

"So fast! Even my three-tomoe Sharingan can barely track him!"

Before her words faded, Rokuro appeared right in front of her, reaching out as if to tap her forehead. Izumi leapt back, but before she could land, she felt a presence behind her—Rokuro was already there, blocking her retreat with his body.

"Just now, I used the Seven-Colored Truth-Seeking Orb to massively boost my burst strength and neural reflex speed. You could say it's an upgraded version of the Lightning Chakra Mode."

That thought suddenly reminded Rokuro of a certain line from the manga Bleach.

"A Shinigami's power depends on the strength of their spiritual pressure."

It was a cool-sounding line—but in early Naruto, it didn't apply. Back then, the system still made sense. Elemental advantages, battle instincts, clever strategy—those decided a fight.

But by the later stages, everything became about chakra.

Whoever had more chakra, whoever's chakra was of higher quality—that person was the strongest. Elemental affinities, kekIzumi genkai, secret arts, forbidden techniques—all became irrelevant.

Ordinary chakra was crushed by nature-transformed chakra. Sage chakra crushed the rest. And in the end, the Six Paths chakra crushed everything.

So those theories about "Kotoamatsukami one-shotting Kaguya" or "Totsuka Blade sealing Kaguya" became jokes.

In the face of higher-level chakra, all the fancy moves were trash.

As for the Truth-Seeking Orbs, there were only two ways to obtain them:

The first was to awaken the Rinnegan and become the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki, or master the Six Paths power—like Six Paths Madara, Six Paths Obito, or Six Paths Naruto.

The second method was to master the nature and form transformations of yin, yang, and all five elemental chakras, then perfectly fuse them into one.

The first method required cheats. The second required god-tier comprehension. Rokuro, however, had taken a shortcut—using sealing formulas to bypass the process. The only reason his version was still incomplete, he believed, was because the Uzumaki sealing script itself was flawed. To perfect it, he would need to visit the Three Great Sage Lands.

"Now you understand," Rokuro said, brushing dust off his sleeve. "Unless you can match my speed just now, you'd better stay home and guard the village."

"You're cheating! That Truth-Seeking Orb of yours was made with ninja tools—it doesn't count!"

"I said no ninja tools in battle. I never said anything about training! You lost fair and square, so no complaining!"

Izumi puffed her cheeks in frustration, and Rokuro hurriedly slung an arm around her shoulders.

"Alright, alright, don't be mad. I'll treat you to some three-colored dango, okay?"

"Ten sticks!"

"Ten?! That much sugar and you'll turn into a fat girl."

"You're the fat one!"

Still bickering, they left the Forest of Death and headed for Konoha's commercial district.

Just as they sat down by the riverbank to eat, Shisui suddenly appeared in front of them.

"Rokuro, the clan head just ordered the formation of the deployment squad. Your name's on the list. He's about to give the pre-war speech—come with me, now."

"Looks like the clan head's fired up this time." Rokuro turned to Izumi. "You take the dango home first."

Handing her the skewers, he followed Shisui toward the Uchiha compound.

"By the way," Shisui said casually as they ran, "the clan's been producing a lot of prodigies lately—kids under ten awakening their Sharingan, some even double tomoe already."

Rokuro shot him a sidelong glance.

"Maybe our ancestors are watching over us—sending a wave of geniuses to save the clan from its coming downfall."

"Downfall? Come on, Rokuro, why do you always talk like that? Don't be so pessimistic."

Rokuro curled his lips in a half-smile, his eyes narrowing on Shisui's face.

"Really? You, as a member of the ANBU, should be well aware of our clan's situation, shouldn't you?"

As he spoke, Rokuro raised his hand, pointing to several invisible spots around them. With each gesture, Shisui's expression stiffened slightly.

"Those hidden surveillance seals—and the sensory barrier covering the entire village—they can track every move an Uchiha makes. Shisui, I'm the one who can undo the Caged Bird seal. Do you really think I wouldn't notice something that blatant?"

Shisui sighed heavily.

"Rokuro, it's true there's tension between the village and the clan—but it's something we can resolve peacefully. If we just communicate sincerely, I'm sure we can earn the Hokage's trust. So—"

Rokuro raised a hand to stop him. If he listened any longer, he was certain his blood pressure would explode.

"Shisui, do you know what you sound like right now?"

"You sound like the guy trying to break up a fight. Two people are brawling in front of you. Out of kindness, you grab one of them and shout, 'Stop fighting! Fighting's bad—it causes injuries and death!'"

"And sure enough, the one you held back stops swinging. But the other guy doesn't stop—in fact, he grabs the first one by the throat and starts choking the life out of him. And you, the so-called peacemaker, act like you don't even see it."

Rokuro's eyes gleamed with disdain and cold irony.

"Don't talk to me about 'the greater good.' If that so-called greater good is built on greed and injustice, then it deserves to be torn down and remade from the ground up. Stability that rots from within isn't peace—it's decay."

"The shinobi world doesn't revolve around Konoha. Konoha has enemies everywhere. Keep letting it fester like this, and even if the Uchiha roll over like obedient dogs, the village won't last long."

He brushed past Shisui, voice sharp and cutting.

"That's all I'll say. If you still don't get it, maybe read more books—broaden your view of the 'bigger picture.' Don't let a few mouthfuls of propaganda soup make you forget your own name."
