Chapter 26 - Sensei, you have been scammed

Heukjin's POV

Midnight Ninjas…. Yeonwoo overdid it this time, however, the frightened look in his eyes was enjoyable.

Touch him? No one dared.

But I was curious to see just how frightened he was at the thought of being beaten up.

"Hey, send them over now." I said to Yeonwoo over the call. He sounded amused, "you have more to deal with?"

"No, not deal with…." My attention focused on Sehyun standing by the gate shifting nervously where he stood.

"It's more like have fun with."

"Oh? I'm curious, Heukjinie has been having a lot of fun lately, I wonder who the person is…"

"Haven't you heard, curiosity killed the cat. Don't be nosy." Without waiting to hear his reply, I hung up.

I walked over to Sehyun's side grabbing his hand, interlocking it with mine not minding the fact we might be seen.

No, I didn't care.

We had almost arrive at his home, when Yeonwoo's 'Ninjas' arrived scurrying around in the dark like rats.

Sehyun held my hand tighter, his eyes wide as though he'd seen a ghost. "Sensei…." He was so frightened even his voice couldn't deny it.

"Mn? Don't be scared…" I said even though I was amused by his easily frightened personality. There were a lot of sides to Sehyun that made this a lot fun.

The man in charge walked forward, his expression icy but I caught the fear in his eyes once he glanced at me.

My lips quirked up.

Ren.

It had been a while since I'd seen him last, since the day I bruised his face as punishment for defying me. It was meant to be a small cut but, I was enraged that day my hands trembled.

One single strike and what filled the room next was the pungent reek of blood and his painful screams.

Sehyun clung on my arm like his life depended on it … of course it did, he was mine now.

Ren reached behind him and brought out a key.

I watched as Sehyun's expression shifted from mortified to utter shock. He seemed to be asking 'is this a joke'

Of course it was…

"Your car has been returned home." He said to me still holding out the car key. I gave a small nod. "Thank you"

Ren froze. His eyes shrinking into his sockets, he gaped at me like he'd seen a ghost.

"What car?" Sehyun asked beside me his eyes never leaving Ren as though waiting for him to bring out a gun.

"Oh, my previous car developed a bit of fault so I sold it and got another." I replied casually my hand moving to circle themselves around his shoulder.

He went stiff, his eyes shooting up at me surprised. This was how it was supposed

to be, your eyes fixed on me, and me alone.

I gave him a soft smile, "It wasn't that expensive, Sehyun doesn't need to worry."

Just a few million won, it was cheap change.

"But still…"

I added almost immediately cutting his words short. "This model has a lot of room, Sehyun can be more comfortable."

His eyes softened, warmth blooming across his face, then as if remembering we weren't alone, his cheeks turned a dark shade of red as he hurriedly averted his gaze.

Mine flickered back to Ren. It wasn't a welcoming stare, if looks could kill he'd have been ten feet's deep in the ground.

"Well, we'd be taking our leave…" Ren said clearing his throat. "Wait." Sehyun hurriedly blurted.

I looked at him, where did this burst of confidence arise from? Even though Ren had clarified he came to drop my car, his gaze remained wary.

"Well… by chance, you guys didn't beat up a bunch of Hangyeom student right?" He asked tentatively.

Ren's gaze flickered towards me for a moment, seeing how relaxed I was, he replied with a smile I was sure Sehyun would read as fake.

How dense.

"No, we may look thuggish but we are decent people, we run a legit company." As if to prove his point, he reached in his suit pocket and brought a card.

"Here, it's our business card. If you ever need a car.. we'll be glad to render our assistance." Ren said giving me a knowing smirk.

I gave him a faintly entertained glance my head dropping naturally on Sehyun's shoulder. "Sure, we will."

His face hardened once he caught the nonchalance in my eyes, he spun on his heels and walked off… no, he scurried from my sight.

"Imperion Co…." Sehyun muttered silently tracing his thumb across the black card his hand.

"Sounds nice right, if Sehyun needs anything later on, just tell me… we'd get it together."

He looked at me, his doe eyes calculative, "the texture of the paper shows it's really expensive….. Sensei, you didn't spend impulsively right.."

Ah? I'd almost forgotten how observant he was to tiny details…. Ren that goose, he surely didn't think I'd be exposed once Sehyun looked up the company name….

"N-No, I can't afford such luxury…." I said between teeth. Perhaps he bought the lie, perhaps he chose not to press further, he simply nodded shoving the card in his pants. "Such things are a waste."

"That won't do, in the future, I'll purchase as much cars as Sehyun desires." I said softly once we began walking home.

After all, Imperion Co. was part of the several companies I controlled.

Cars…. They were toys I changed whenever I

got bored. Getting few of such for Sehyun did not come close to putting a scratch on my wallet.

"Sensei, I think those guys are a scam…" Sehyun's voice cut through my head. "Mn?"

At some point, he had taken out his phone and looked it up. "There's no information on them and the least price of cars they sell is….one, two, three….six zeros!"

He looked at me his eyes filled with worry, "Sensei, you have been scammed. We have to do something about it no?"

I felt a sharp pain in my chest blood rushing to my mouth. Scammed? By my own company?

I stared at him not knowing whether to cry or laugh.
