Gran and the Old Kai walked up to the assembled gods.
Everyone's gaze was fixed on Gran.
In just a few hundred years, he had surpassed the vast majority of Gods of Destruction.
In both power and dimensional level, he could already rival Beerus himself!
This guy…
was truly a monster.
A gentle breeze swept through the Kaiōshin Realm. Leaves brushed against one another, producing a soft rustling sound.
No one spoke.
The entire realm fell into an eerie stillness.
"What are you all doing? Why do you look so strange?"
The Old Kai burst into hearty laughter.
He had known it—once everyone learned of Gran's true strength, this would be their reaction. After all, he himself had looked exactly the same when he first realized it.
The Old Kai's laughter instantly shattered the silence of the Kaiōshin Realm.
"You old fossil! You hid this from me for so long—you've really got some nerve!"
Beerus clenched his fists.
Who could have imagined that Gran would reach such a level in only a few hundred years?
Was this what it meant to possess the talent of transcendence?
"L-Lord Beerus, what are you planning to do?"
Seeing Beerus's fists—each like a sandbag—the Old Kai panicked.
"This was Gran's request! He told me to keep it secret. If you're angry, blame him!"
"Hmph. Just because he asked you to hide it, you did? I'm not some outsider."
Beerus took a step forward, fists still clenched.
"Gran, save me! Beerus is about to kill someone!"
The Old Kai hurriedly hid behind Gran.
"Alright, alright."
Gran quickly stepped in front of Beerus and smiled.
"It really was my request that Old Kai keep my strength secret. Please spare him, Lord Beerus."
Originally, he had planned to reveal his true power during the Candidate God of Destruction War.
He hadn't expected the potential-unleashing process to cause his power to leak out prematurely.
But
It didn't really matter.
As long as the other universes were still in the dark, that was enough.
"Look at Gran, Lord Beerus—then look at yourself. Gran's clearly the better one!"
The Old Kai poked his head out from behind Gran, even sticking out his tongue with a childish grin.
Gran: "..."
The old man was getting a bit carried away.
So Gran subtly shifted aside.
"Gran, what are you doing?! I'm your benefactor! This is how you treat me?"
The Old Kai's expression changed instantly. He tried to run—
But Beerus was already standing in front of him.
Thump!
A sharp flick landed squarely on his forehead.
The Old Kai clutched his head, squatting down and howling in pain.
The scene was absurdly comical, instantly lightening the atmosphere in the Kaiōshin Realm.
"Gran, you're seriously incredible!"
Shin ignored his ancestor entirely, clenching his tiny fists. His eyes sparkled, cheeks flushed with excitement.
"If I ever get into trouble again, you have to help me, okay?!"
The words sounded a bit childish.
After all, his life was now directly linked to the strongest God of Destruction
who would still dare to provoke him?
Gran laughed and played along.
"You're the Kaiōshin of the Seventh Universe. Of course I'll help you."
Hearing that, Shin lifted his chin proudly.
Another Seventh-Tier God Realm powerhouse backing him—
amazing!
"Gran, long time no see."
Broly stepped forward, a bright, open smile on his face.
At this point, Gran—standing at 185 cm—looked downright short next to Broly, who stood well over two meters tall.
"Your clothes…?"
Gran froze for a moment.
He knew Broly had already come of age, but the outfit he was wearing was unmistakably God of Destruction–style attire.
"Gran, it's like this…"
Broly explained how he had temporarily disguised himself as a candidate God of Destruction.
After hearing the whole story, Gran chuckled.
To be fair, Broly really did have what it took to be a candidate God of Destruction.
"You've grown huge. Looks like you've been eating well these past five years."
Gran bumped Broly lightly in the chest with his fist.
"Haha! That's because I've been following Lord Beerus to Earth these past few years—eating and drinking nonstop."
Broly laughed easily. His speech was smooth and confident now, without a trace of shyness—
like a sunny, big-hearted young man.
A very big one.
Over two meters tall, built like a bull.
Gran nodded in satisfaction.
If he hadn't brought Broly back back then, and had instead left him on Planet Vampa,
the boy would've grown up just as taciturn as he was in the anime.
At this moment, Beerus stopped tormenting the Old Kai and turned back to Gran.
"That state you used earlier—was that a new form this old man unlocked for you?"
Everyone perked up.
Especially Whis and Vados.
They could tell at a glance just how extraordinary that state was.
Saiyans were naturally capable of transformation—but those transformations came with obvious drawbacks:
Severe bodily strain.
Massive energy consumption.
Emotional instability.
All of it was plain to see.
But Gran's new state was different.
Not only did it lack those flaws—it could even incorporate Super Saiyan–level power into itself.
And don't forget—
Even in that state, Gran could still layer Ultra Instinct on top of it.
That alone proved just how special the state was.
After all
Only a heart as tranquil as the sky itself could support Ultra Instinct.
"Yes."
Gran had already reverted to his base state after the breakthrough. He knew Beerus was referring to the mysterious state.
"Then that's your strongest state at the moment, right?"
"Yes."
Gran didn't hide it.
"In base, I'm at God Realm—Sixth Tier (Initial Stage).
At full power, I reach God Realm—Seventh Tier (Initial Stage)."
Beerus took a deep breath, then sighed.
"You really are something… In just a few hundred years, you're already about to catch up to me."
Setting aside techniques and combat skill—
In dimensional level, Gran had reached the peak divine tier.
In raw power, he had reached Seventh Tier (Initial Stage).
In these two aspects alone, he wasn't far behind Beerus anymore.
Everyone's gaze shifted to the Old Kai, who was still squatting on the ground.
They all knew that Gran's breakthrough to the Seventh Tier was entirely thanks to this old man's potential-unleashing.
The old fellow really was impressive.
Sensing their stares, the Old Kai stood up, puffed out his chest, and struck a smug pose.
Champa and Vados exchanged a glance.
Only now did they realize that—from top to bottom—the Seventh Universe was packed with monsters.
How did they even pull this off?
"With you around, there's no way we're losing this time."
Champa's feelings were complicated as he looked at Gran.
"But your strength has already surpassed mine… Should I be happy, or should I be depressed?"
Vados also shot Gran a resentful look.
"I even stuffed you into a sack and dragged you away back then, and in the end I still couldn't make you mine!"
As she said that, she shot a glare at Whis.
Whis ignored her entirely, unconsciously reaching out to ruffle Gran's hair.
"You've really grown up. Now you finally have the ability to stand on your own."
Listening to everyone, Gran felt himself floating a little.
He cleared his throat lightly.
"Lord Beerus—if I were to fight you, how big is the gap between us now?"
"How big?"
Beerus's eyes lit up instantly.
"Fight me and you'll find out!"
In truth, he still hadn't been satisfied with the battle in the World of Void five years ago.
Quitela had been punished by the Omni-King and left half-dead, so Beerus hadn't even been able to use half his strength.
As for the other Gods of Destruction
None of them were his match.
But now
His own candidate had reached the Seventh Tier of the God Realm.
At last, he might be able to enjoy a proper fight.
"Then count me in too!"
Champa swung his chubby arms enthusiastically. He also wanted to see just how strong Gran had become.
"..."
Gran's mouth twitched.
These two brothers weren't planning to gang up on him, were they?
"Let's skip the sparring for now."
Gran stepped forward, gazing at the still-beautiful Kaiōshin Realm.
Watching his back, Beerus frowned.
"Every time you break through, you challenge me. Don't tell me you're afraid this time?"
That didn't make sense.
This kid's martial heart was all about never backing down—fear wasn't in his nature.
"What are you thinking?"
Gran turned back to face them.
"Tell me—how long until the Candidate God of Destruction War begins?"
The moment he said it, everyone froze—
Then immediately understood.
Only one month remained.
"I thought you'd gotten scared after reaching the Seventh Tier," Beerus said, relieved.
"With the timing like this, sparring really isn't appropriate. Let's talk about it after the war."
"Exactly!"
Champa nodded vigorously.
"There's no time left. What matters now is that battle—we can't afford to waste time."
He turned to Vados.
"We should head back and pick up Hit."
Hit?
Gran narrowed his eyes.
So in the end, it really was that guy representing the Sixth Universe.
"One month isn't much time."
Gran looked at Beerus.
"How about we head to the Sixth Universe together—pick everyone up and then go straight to the World of Void?"
"Visit the Sixth Universe first, huh?"
Beerus glanced at Champa.
"Picking people up while also taking a look at how the Sixth Universe is doing sounds fine."
Champa clicked his tongue, but didn't object.
"Then let's set off."
Gran signaled Whis to take out the Universe Traversal Cube.
Once everyone in the Kaiōshin Realm stepped into the cube—
Whis immediately set off.
…
Inside the Omni-King's Palace, a projection hovered in midair.
"Wow~ Gran is really amazing now~"
A small figure that looked like an eraser sat atop the throne, clapping his tiny hands with an innocent, childlike expression.
"The Candidate God of Destruction War was only meant to temper him a little."
The Grand Priest gazed at Gran within the projection and sighed helplessly.
"Who would've thought he'd make use of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?"
Under normal circumstances, even with ten years of training, Gran's strength would have reached at most the Second Tier of the God Realm.
Ten years later—meaning now—Gran would've entered the Candidate God of Destruction War with only Second-Tier power, facing the candidate gods from the various universes.
For him, that massive brawl would have been an exceptionally meaningful trial.
Unfortunately…
Gran had used the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
He had trained for more than three hundred additional years.
Now that his power had broken through to the Seventh Tier, the Candidate God of Destruction War had lost all meaning.
Because no one could defeat him.
Even if every remaining universe's candidate gods joined forces, there would still be no hope.
Just like Beerus.
There was no longer any God of Destruction who could defeat him.
Beerus was like that—
and now Gran was the same.
These two guys…
really made people feel both love and resentment.
"Omni-King,"
The Grand Priest bowed toward the throne.
"Since letting candidate gods participate has lost its meaning, should we replace them with other Gods of Destruction to surround and challenge Gran?"
Only in that way could Gran's other martial paths be properly honed.
"No need."
The Omni-King's once-childish voice vanished, replaced by a deep, majestic tone—
as if rules themselves were chanting.
The entire Omni-King's Palace trembled.
"Let things proceed as they should. Let him enjoy himself."
"Yes."
A trace of doubt flickered through the Grand Priest's eyes, but he asked no further questions.
…
Between the Seventh Universe and the Sixth Universe, a cube streaked rapidly through space.
"Lord Beerus," Gran asked again as he stood inside the traversal cube,
"how much weaker am I compared to you right now?"
"You really like comparing yourself to me, huh?"
Beerus twitched at the corner of his mouth before explaining patiently.
"In terms of dimensional level, you're already close to me. But when it comes to raw power—there's a huge gap between Seventh Tier (Initial Stage) and Seventh Tier (Peak)."
Don't let the names fool you.
The difference between initial and peak might sound small,
but only by truly comparing them could one understand how vast that gap really was.
Take Beerus himself back then—
With only Seventh Tier (Initial Stage) power, he had been able to hold off the Gods of Destruction from eleven universes, even standing alongside Quitela until the very end.
And now?
Beerus had reached the Seventh Tier (Peak).
To exaggerate just a little—
even using only one hand, he could flatten the Gods of Destruction of the other eleven universes.
"So the gap is still that big?"
Gran's expression didn't change in the slightest.
He never expected to surpass Beerus after training for only three hundred years.
After all, he knew very well just how terrifying Beerus's strength truly was.
"Gran, walk a few steps for me."
Whis suddenly turned around, staff in hand.
"?"
Gran froze for a moment, but still took a few steps forward, then back.
"Big sister, what do you think?"
Whis turned back again, continuing to guide the traversal cube toward the Sixth Universe.
"His bodily instinct has reached the Third Tier (Peak), and his mental state is at the bottleneck of the Second Layer."
Vados narrowed her eyes slightly as she spoke.
"That means your Ultra Instinct has already reached the Completed Stage."
Ultra Instinct — Completed?
Realization struck Gran in an instant.
So his Ultra Instinct had already reached the Completed level.
At the same time, shock rippled through him.
These angels were terrifying.
Just from watching him take a few steps, they could see through most of his martial foundation.
It sent a chill down one's spine.
Gran took a deep breath and extended his hand.
A wisp of purple radiance bloomed in his palm.
"First-Tier Destruction Rule."
Vados bit her lip slightly as she looked at Gran.
"I knew it—you've mastered the Destruction Rule as well."
Back when Gran had sparred with Champa, he hadn't been able to use the Destruction Rule at all.
But now—
He really could do everything.
What a terrifying little monster.
