Vados glanced toward Whis and the others, then let out a helpless sigh.
When she had first gone to observe Gran, she had already realized just how terrifying the hidden potential of Universe Seven truly was.
Now, it seemed reality had only proven her judgment correct.
"Beerus… Gran… you two are truly infuriating," she said quietly.
Unlike Vados's calm demeanor, Champa was practically smoking with rage.
To him, these two were nothing short of his personal nemeses—especially Gran. Ever since meeting that man, nothing good had happened.
Either he was being surpassed,
or he was on the way to being surpassed.
Faced with Champa's furious shouting, neither Gran nor Beerus responded.
They exchanged a glance instead.
Even they hadn't expected Universe Seven's index to rise this quickly.
"Gran," Beerus said with a hint of amazement,
"it looks like what you want… might actually be possible."
Given Beerus's personality, he had never cared much about Universe Seven's ranking—so long as it wasn't dead last, that was good enough.
But Gran treated second-to-last as a humiliation.
What could Beerus do?
Gran was his candidate, after all.
"Heh heh. Once our universe reaches first place," Gran said with a grin,
"you'll be the legitimate Number One God of Destruction."
"The Number One God of Destruction…?"
Beerus repeated the phrase softly.
As he did, the corners of his mouth slowly curled upward.
He had to admit—it sounded pretty damn good.
The two of them chatted casually, completely ignoring Champa.
Champa was so furious he was nearly about to combust—but neither of them was someone he could just beat up, so all he could do was stew in silence.
The Universe Traversal Cube sped onward.
Along the way to the God of Destruction Realm of Universe Six, Gran and the others observed the state of Universe Six.
Compared to what Universe Seven used to be like, Universe Six's development was far more balanced.
Low-level civilizations.
Mid-level civilizations.
High-level civilizations.
Their distribution formed a clear, step-like structure.
As for unqualified planets and failed civilizations—
They were practically nonexistent in Universe Six.
Gran knew exactly why.
This was the result of Vados's careful guidance of Champa.
As time passed, the traversal cube finally arrived at the God of Destruction Realm of Universe Six.
The realm looked almost identical to Universe Seven's—an inverted pyramid, crowned by a massive tree.
Countless structures were built into the tree itself, and even the layout mirrored Universe Seven's perfectly.
Standing here, Gran strangely felt… at home.
Meanwhile, the Old Supreme Kai and the others—who had still been basking in the joy of Universe Seven's rising index—finally snapped back to reality upon arrival.
"So this is the God of Destruction Realm of Universe Six?"
Shin (Supreme Kai of the East) scanned the surroundings in surprise.
"It doesn't look much different from ours."
Gran stepped out of the traversal cube and smiled.
"Universe Six and Universe Seven are twin universes.
Naturally, they share many similarities."
Not just the God of Destruction Realm—
Even Earth, Saiyans, Frieza-type beings, Namekians…
All of them had counterparts in Universe Six.
The group headed toward the God of Destruction Palace.
Suddenly, Gran noticed more than twenty figures standing beside a lake near the palace.
"Nineteen candidate Gods of Destruction?"
Gran narrowed his eyes.
In his sight stood nineteen individuals wearing God of Destruction attire.
Among them were thirteen figures with Earth-like appearances.
No surprise there—
They were Saiyans.
"You—get over here, all of you!"
Champa roared toward the group by the lake.
His voice thundered through the realm, startling all nineteen candidates.
Among them was a Saiyan named Roz.
He wasn't particularly muscular—in fact, he looked rather slender.
The God of Destruction uniform hung loosely on his frame.
"So Lord Champa is back…"
Roz let out a breath of relief.
For a moment, he had thought something serious had happened.
Then he noticed six figures standing beside Champa.
Three of them were also wearing God of Destruction attire.
More candidates Lord Champa picked up from outside?
It wasn't strange for Roz to think this way.
When he had first been selected as a candidate God of Destruction, he believed Universe Six would have only one.
But after arriving here—
He discovered Champa had already recruited more than a dozen.
Something felt off.
As Roz followed the others toward Champa, his expression suddenly changed.
He could clearly sense Broly's aura.
But from Gran and Beerus…
He sensed nothing at all.
Gods.
Roz's pupils shrank violently.
Only divine beings possessed no detectable aura.
And that thin, purple, cat-like figure—
He looked remarkably similar to Lord Champa.
Could he be one of Lord Champa's kin…?
By the time Roz snapped out of his shock, he had already arrived before Champa.
"These five are, respectively," Vados said calmly,
"the God of Destruction, Angel, Supreme Kai, and candidate God of Destruction of Universe Seven."
After hearing their identities, Roz and the others sucked in a sharp breath.
Another universe's God of Destruction and Supreme Kai?!
But
Roz stared hard at Gran.
According to Vados, this man was a candidate God of Destruction.
Yet—
Roz couldn't sense even the slightest aura from him.
Which meant…
His existence had already reached the divine dimensional tier.
Boom!
The realization struck every candidate God of Destruction in Universe Six like thunder.
They had been chosen for one reason:
To participate in the Candidate God of Destruction Battle one month later.
All universes' candidates would fight.
Only one would remain standing.
That meant—
The candidate God of Destruction from Universe Seven was supposed to be their opponent.
Yet now—
That opponent had already become a god?!
How was that even possible?!
"What are you all standing around for?"
Champa's gaze turned ice-cold.
"Why haven't you paid your respects yet?!"
Startled, Roz and the others hurriedly bowed.
"Greetings, honored lords!"
They directed their salute toward Beerus, Whis, the Old Supreme Kai, and Shin.
But
They did not salute Gran or Broly.
"And?" Champa said coldly.
And…?
The candidates exchanged confused glances.
The only ones they hadn't greeted were Gran and Broly.
But both of them were wearing God of Destruction attire.
Which meant they were candidate Gods of Destruction.
If they were all candidates—
Then they were equals.
Why should equals bow to one another?
"L-Lord Champa…"
Roz stepped forward, forcing himself to speak despite his fear.
"We are all candidate Gods of Destruction.
Why must we pay respects to those of the same rank?"
Roz was a genius—otherwise he wouldn't have been chosen.
And geniuses…
Had pride.
Why should they bow to someone of the same level?
