...
The God of Destruction Realm.
A month had already passed since Gran returned here.
At the moment, he was seated beside a tea table, watching a projection floating in the sky. The image displayed was none other than Goku and the others leaving Planet Namek.
"Vegeta and the others left too quickly. Otherwise, he could have received the Grand Elder's potential unlock as well," Whis remarked teasingly from the side.
After all, when Gran returned to the God of Destruction Realm, both Whis and Beerus had come back with him.
"That stubborn mule deserves it. If he's that hardheaded, it's only natural he misses out on all the good opportunities."
Bulma poured tea for both Gran and Whis before asking curiously,
"Mr. Whis, Goku had his potential unlocked by the Grand Elder, right? Just how strong has he become now?"
In the projection, Goku had never revealed his true power, leaving her extremely curious.
"Originally, Goku's power level was only five million. After defeating Frieza, he recovered from severe injuries and then spent another month training inside the Gravity Chamber..."
Whis lifted his teacup and took a sip.
"After receiving the Grand Elder's potential unlock, his normal power level should be around thirty million now."
The moment those words left his mouth, Bulma's eyes widened.
Even Gran was slightly surprised.
If Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan now, his power level would reach 1.5 billion.
Compared to the original timeline, he was far stronger.
"That's amazing!"
Bulma looked delighted.
"Before, you said Vegeta had reached ten million power level. I was worried that if he became a Super Saiyan too, he might surpass Goku. But now it's fine. He'll never catch up to him!"
Gran: "..."
The image of Bulma mocking Vegeta for being the eternal second-place finisher was strangely hilarious.
"Actually, Goku's growth is completely normal."
Whis explained,
"Ever since he was a child, he has been building a solid foundation. At his current age, it's only natural for all that accumulated effort to begin bearing fruit."
Gran himself had gone through something similar in the past, so Whis was quite familiar with Saiyan growth patterns.
Only then did Bulma finally understand.
At that moment, Beerus, who was lounging on a beach chair in the distance, called out:
"Gran, what exactly were you doing in the Underworld before?"
"Lord Beerus, you're seriously a voyeur, aren't you? Why do you keep spying on me wherever I go?"
"And you're one to talk. Aren't you spying on Goku and the others right now?"
"..."
Gran was left speechless.
He couldn't even refute that.
In the end, he curled his lips and said,
"I naturally had my own reasons for going to the Underworld. Lord Beerus, stop worrying about my business."
"Fine. Then I won't ask anymore."
Beerus had long grown accustomed to the brat's personality and wasn't bothered in the slightest.
Standing up from his beach chair, he began walking toward the God of Destruction Palace.
"All the interesting things are over anyway. I'm going back to sleep. Gran, remember to properly manage Universe Seven."
Watching Beerus walk away, both Bulma and Whis struggled to suppress their laughter.
Lord Beerus was preparing to become a hands-off manager again.
"Having a God of Destruction like him is honestly unbelievable."
Gran felt utterly helpless.
Still, he didn't complain further, because managing Universe Seven was already part of his future plans.
The God of Destruction Realm became quiet once more.
Gran didn't immediately head to the Tower of Dimensions to check on Broly. Instead, he remained by the lake, watching the projection overhead.
Both Whis and Bulma found this strange.
Frieza had already been defeated.
Goku and the others were simply heading back to Earth.
What was there left to watch?
Gran didn't explain and simply continued observing.
Another month passed.
Then, from a distant region of the cosmos, a faint energy signature appeared.
Its strength was approximately 500 million power level.
Noticing it, Whis adjusted the projection.
When everyone saw the image, they finally understood.
Vegeta had become a Super Saiyan.
"That guy actually managed to become a Super Saiyan. How annoying."
Bulma clicked her tongue before immediately adding,
"But so what? He still can't catch up to Goku."
Gran merely smiled without saying anything.
Just as he reached for the teapot to pour himself another cup, his hand suddenly paused.
In Goku's projection, the spaceship had malfunctioned.
It was hurtling uncontrollably toward a planet.
Gran knew that planet very well.
When he was younger, he had visited it once and learned a special technique there—
Instant Transmission.
That's right.
The planet's name was Planet Yardrat!!!
In the original anime, after Planet Namek exploded, Goku escaped aboard the Ginyu Force's ship and eventually drifted to Yardrat.
Now, Namek had never exploded.
It had even been relocated by Shenron.
Yet after all the twists and turns, Goku still ended up heading toward Yardrat.
"The corrective force of history really is fascinating. Let's see what's going on."
While marveling at the mysterious tendency of events to return to their destined course, Gran checked Universe Seven's star map in his mind.
Originally, Namek was located south of Yardrat, while Earth lay even farther south.
However, after Shenron moved Namek, it ended up north of Yardrat.
As a result, anyone traveling from Namek to Earth would naturally pass through Yardrat.
"No wonder."
"Gran, Goku's spaceship is malfunctioning! What should we do?"
Bulma immediately stood up, panic written across her face.
"You don't need to worry. They'll be fine."
"How can I not worry?! They can't survive in the vacuum of space! If the ship explodes, they're finished!"
"Didn't you notice there's another planet nearby? If they land there, they'll survive."
"Huh?"
Bulma looked again.
"They really are heading toward it. But their ship is damaged! Even if they survive, how are they supposed to leave afterward?"
The worry on her face only deepened.
After all, none of the people aboard were capable of repairing a spaceship.
"Alright, enough teasing."
Gran chuckled.
"That planet is called Yardrat. I visited it once myself. There's a way for them to return to Earth from there."
"Really?"
Bulma blinked.
Then curiosity replaced her anxiety.
"Gran, does that planet sell spaceships or something?"
That was the only possibility she could think of.
"I don't know whether they sell spaceships."
Gran smiled.
"But I do know there's a very special technique there—one that allows a person to instantly move from one location to another."
"Gran, you mean..."
Bulma suddenly thought of something.
Her eyes immediately lit up.
"That's right."
Gran nodded.
"Instant Transmission. As long as one of them learns it, they'll be able to return to Earth."
"That's wonderful!"
Bulma was so excited she practically started dancing beside the table.
She had personally experienced Instant Transmission while accompanying Gran.
No one understood its incredible usefulness better than she did.
If Goku learned it too, then whenever danger arose in the future, they would have one more powerful safeguard.
"Gran, have you noticed how unlucky Vegeta is?"
"How so?"
"When the Grand Elder unlocked everyone's potential, he wasn't there. Now there's a chance to learn Instant Transmission, and he's not there either. Two huge opportunities, and he missed both of them completely. It's honestly hilarious!"
"Uh..."
Gran paused before laughing.
"What can you do? He ran off too quickly. If he had stayed with Kakarot, he would've enjoyed both of these opportunities."
"Alright."
Gran stood up from his chair.
"We've already been back in the God of Destruction Realm for two months. It's time to check on Broly."
The main reason he had continued observing Goku's journey was to see whether Goku would still reach Yardrat like in the original story.
Fortunately, history hadn't disappointed him.
Goku still ended up on Planet Yardrat.
This time, however, Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin were with him as well.
As for who among them would learn Instant Transmission...
That remained to be seen.
"Ah! Right!"
Bulma nodded vigorously.
The reason she had returned to the God of Destruction Realm in the first place was to see how Broly was doing.
The big guy had protected her countless times and always called her Big Sister Bulma.
This time, she had even brought a mountain of delicious food specifically for him.
"Gran, let's go!"
"Follow me."
Gran led Bulma toward the God of Destruction Palace.
Whis, left alone outside, found himself somewhat bored and decided to follow as well.
"Whis, what level do you think Broly's dimension has reached?" Gran asked as they walked.
"Hit and Roz from Universe Six spent half a year in the Tower of Dimensions and eventually reached the level of that fat cat on Earth."
Holding his staff, Whis continued,
"Broly has been inside the tower for over two years now. I doubt he's any weaker than they were."
"Hard to say."
Gran shook his head as they reached the third floor of the palace.
"Bulma only managed to retain her sanity while in her berserk state. But she still had to endure all the suffering that berserk state brought with it."
"The pain inflicted by the Tower of Dimensions affects every aspect of a person."
"And for a Saiyan like Broly, I suspect the effects are amplified."
Gran sighed.
"If Broly can't endure it, he might not even reach the level of that fat cat on Earth."
Hearing that, Bulma became visibly worried.
Broly was practically her little brother.
Naturally, she wanted the best for him.
The three of them fell silent.
Soon, they arrived at the very top floor of the God of Destruction Palace.
There was only a single door.
Gran pushed it open.
Boom!
The door swung wide.
Bulma had never been here before.
She had expected a small room.
Instead, she found herself staring at an enormous space.
At its center stood a towering structure that looked almost fantastical.
The Tower of Dimensions.
"Bulma, don't come any farther."
Gran turned toward her.
"Stay here. You won't be able to withstand the pain inside the Tower of Dimensions."
"Okay."
Bulma nodded.
"Gran, could you let Broly come out for a while later? I brought him lots of tasty food."
"Sure."
Gran and Whis turned around and continued toward the tower.
The Tower of Dimensions had 120 floors.
Back when Gran reached the 100th floor, his dimensional level had already attained the pinnacle of divine beings.
If I reached the 120th floor... would my dimension break through into the Angel level?
The thought crossed Gran's mind as he walked.
Before long, they arrived at the tenth floor.
Yet Broly was nowhere to be seen.
"Hm?"
Whis stopped.
"Normally, reaching this floor would already place someone at the level of Earth's Guardian. Yet Broly isn't here."
"Let's keep going."
Gran's eyes brightened with surprise.
If Broly wasn't here, then his dimensional level had clearly exceeded expectations.
The two continued climbing.
When they reached the twentieth floor, they finally heard movement.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"
A scream of agonizing pain echoed throughout the floor.
Following the sound, they found Broly.
He was still wearing his Candidate God of Destruction uniform.
The muscles across his body bulged powerfully.
Veins protruded across his forehead.
His entire body was drenched in sweat, as though he had just been pulled from a lake.
"It... hurts... so much!!"
Broly clutched his head tightly.
His eyes burned with savage fury.
His hair had turned grass-green.
Boundless power erupted from his body, causing the very space inside the Tower of Dimensions to tremble and hum.
Gran and Whis exchanged a glance.
This power had already reached the Early Third Layer of the Divine Realm!
Two years ago, when Broly fought Cooler and lost control, he had only possessed power at the Peak of the First Layer of the Divine Realm.
Gran knew very well that this wasn't Broly's limit.
If someone continuously pushed and provoked him, he might even force his power into the Fourth Layer.
Not only that—
His dimensional level had already reached the level of Earth's Guardian.
"In only two years, he's improved this much. He must have suffered tremendously."
A trace of heartache appeared in Gran's eyes.
"With a physique like his, enduring this place for two full years is indeed extremely difficult."
Whis nodded in agreement.
Broly hadn't even noticed Gran's arrival.
He was still roaring in pain.
Gran let out a sigh.
"Rushing only leads to failure. End your training here for now."
His voice echoed throughout the twentieth floor.
Broly suddenly turned around.
A flash of joy appeared within his berserk eyes.
"Big Brother Gran!"
As though he had forgotten all pain, Broly charged over like an excited child.
Bang!
He wrapped Gran in a crushing embrace.
"Big Brother Gran, you're finally back!"
His voice was incredibly hoarse.
Just from the sound of it, one could tell he had endured endless torment within the Tower of Dimensions over the past two years.
"Yeah."
Gran couldn't help laughing helplessly as he was hugged.
"I'm back."
But he made no attempt to push the big guy away.
