Capture Vegeta?
Gran was momentarily stunned.
Back when he had arranged for Paragus to join the Galactic Patrol Headquarters, Paragus had made a single request.
He wanted the son to pay the father's debt.
After the Namek Saga, Vegeta seemed to have spent all his time training throughout the universe.
Looking at it now, it wasn't surprising that Paragus had eventually discovered Vegeta's whereabouts.
"Gran Big Brother, is this Vegeta the one who exiled my father and me?" Broly asked, a trace of coldness flashing through his eyes.
"No." Gran shook his head. "The one who exiled you was his father, King Vegeta."
Beside them, Haren felt another massive wave of shock crash through his heart when he heard how Broly addressed Gran.
The name Gran was also on Paragus's special list of people who had to be treated with absolute respect.
After all, this person was a legendary god!
"So it wasn't him."
The coldness in Broly's eyes quickly faded.
Gran chuckled.
"King Vegeta died long ago. You'll probably never get the chance to take revenge on him in this lifetime. If you really want revenge, then the only target left is his son, Vegeta."
The moment Haren heard that, he became excited.
"Lord Broly, why don't you come with us? I heard Vegeta has become extremely powerful. I'm worried that even Lord Paragus and the rest of us won't be able to defeat him."
The news of Frieza's death had already spread across the universe.
That was precisely how they had managed to track down Vegeta.
Since Vegeta had participated in the battle that killed Frieza, his strength had to be extraordinary.
Because of that, Haren was deeply concerned about this operation.
"Gran Big Brother!"
Broly looked at Gran expectantly.
"This is your business. If you want to go, then go."
Gran shrugged.
"But I'm not interested in your family affairs, so I won't be joining."
He truly had no words for Vegeta.
The guy's talent for making enemies was almost impressive.
"Alright! I'll go deal with him and come right back."
Broly instantly became excited.
Seeing that, Haren hurriedly led Broly toward the spacecraft docking area.
Soon, they boarded a ship and departed from the Galactic Patrol Headquarters.
Kill Vegeta?
Gran couldn't help replaying Broly's words in his mind.
Not long ago, Vegeta had already achieved the Super Saiyan transformation.
His battle power was probably around 500 million.
That sounded terrifying.
But in front of Broly, he was little more than a minor character.
"If you managed to survive after crossing me..."
Gran smiled helplessly.
"I wonder whether you'll survive after crossing Broly."
Putting the matter aside, he continued deeper into the Galactic Patrol Headquarters.
Along the way, he saw numerous Galactic Patrol officers.
They came in all shapes and forms, but none of them seemed particularly strong.
It almost felt as though the entire organization was being held up by Paragus and the Saiyans.
Gran eventually arrived at the headquarters building.
The moment he appeared at the Galactic Patrol Headquarters, the Galactic King had already received word.
He personally brought a group of senior officials and waited outside the building.
"Greetings, Lord Gran."
The Galactic King and his subordinates bowed respectfully.
"Take me somewhere quiet."
Gran's expression remained calm.
"Of course."
The Galactic King immediately dismissed his entourage and carefully escorted Gran to the top floor.
It was still the same office as before.
Sitting in the Galactic King's chair, Gran looked at him and said:
"I need you to do something for me."
"Please give your orders, Lord Gran."
The Galactic King wiped the sweat from his forehead with a tentacle.
Being in the presence of a god placed tremendous pressure on him.
"In three years, I will hold a universe-wide martial arts tournament."
"The participants will come from Universe Six and Universe Seven."
The Galactic King widened his eyes.
"A tournament between two universes?"
That was earth-shattering news.
Gran continued calmly:
"Furthermore, from now on, this tournament will be held once every ten years."
"I want you to spread this information throughout the entirety of Universe Seven."
"Ah?"
The Galactic King's eyes grew even wider.
The Candidate God of Destruction was organizing a tournament between universes?
This was truly monumental.
"What? Is there a problem?"
"N-No, none at all."
The Galactic King tried his best to suppress his excitement.
"Good."
"Since there are no issues, I'll explain the details. Make sure you remember everything."
"Understood, Lord Gran!"
The Galactic King quickly pulled out a recording device.
After thinking for a moment, Gran began:
"The tournament will be divided into five divisions."
"Beginner Division."
"Intermediate Division."
"Advanced Division."
"Peak Division."
"And Divine Division."
"Participation will be entirely voluntary."
"Competitors will be assigned divisions according to their strength."
"The participant limits, from lowest to highest division, will be 100,000, 50,000, 10,000, 5,000, and 1,000 respectively."
"There will be no limit on registration numbers."
"If too many people sign up, preliminary elimination rounds will be held first."
"Those who make the final roster will face contestants from the corresponding division of Universe Six in one-on-one matches."
"One match will determine victory or defeat."
"The tournament rules will be similar to Earth's World Martial Arts Tournament."
"Each division will fight on an arena stage."
"Killing is prohibited."
"Falling off the stage results in defeat."
"As for scoring..."
Gran continued:
"Victories in the five divisions will award 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 points respectively."
"At the end of the tournament, both universes' total scores will be calculated."
"The universe with the higher score wins."
"And as for the rewards..."
Gran paused before speaking seriously.
"Every participant on the winning side will receive Life Fruits."
"These are divine fruits normally consumed by gods."
"Ten fruits can extend a mortal's lifespan by one year."
"The rewards for the winning side, from lowest to highest division, will be 10, 30, 50, 60, and 100 fruits respectively."
After finishing, Gran poured himself a cup of tea.
He had spent a long time designing this tournament format.
First came comprehensiveness.
By dividing the competition into five divisions based on strength, the event wouldn't be monopolized by powerful fighters alone.
Even weaker martial artists could participate in a tournament on a universal scale.
That was what gave the tournament broad appeal.
Only when everyone had the opportunity to participate could the motivation and competitive spirit of an entire universe truly be ignited.
Second came continuity.
Just like Earth's World Martial Arts Tournament, which was held regularly and kept martial arts culture alive, this event also needed to be a long-term institution.
Gran borrowed that concept.
However, instead of once every three years, he chose once every ten years.
After all, this was a competition spanning entire universes.
Three years was simply too short.
Finally, there was the matter of rewards.
The participants would all be mortals.
What tempted mortals the most?
The answer was obvious.
Lifespan.
The original Demon King Piccolo.
The early Vegeta.
Frieza.
All of them had once desired immortality.
That alone proved how irresistible longevity was.
And the reward for this tournament would be the same Life Fruits Gran had once given to the Grand Elder.
Ten fruits extended one's life by a year.
The highest division's reward amounted to an additional ten years of lifespan.
At first glance, that might not seem like much.
But ordinary mortals only lived around a hundred years.
Ten extra years was already a tremendous reward.
More importantly, the Universal Martial Arts Tournament would be held every ten years.
If one universe continued to win repeatedly...
Then, at least in theory...
It could achieve "immortality."
