Chapter 484 - Chapter 484: The Awakening of Beerus

...

God of Destruction Realm

Whis was sitting at the dining table in front of the God of Destruction Palace, happily eating the delicious food Gran had left behind.

Suddenly, he received a message from Broly.

"Whis, where's Big Brother Gran? Three years have already passed. Why hasn't he told us how to register for the Universal Martial Arts Tournament?"

Whis was just about to answer when...

A faint ripple of Space-Time Power suddenly emerged from the lakeside.

"Hmm?"

Whis immediately cut off the transmission and narrowed his eyes as he looked toward the lake.

Not long afterward, a Space-Time rift suddenly appeared beside the lake.

A small pink-haired girl crawled out from within it.

"Chronoa?"

Whis froze for a moment.

"Weren't you supposed to be with Gran hunting down Mechikabura? Why did you come back alone? Where's Gran?"

Whis fired off question after question.

It was obvious how concerned he was about Gran.

Chronoa instantly teleported in front of Whis.

"Gran won't be able to come back for a while."

"Why?"

The normally gentle and refined Whis suddenly underwent a drastic change.

A terrifying pressure erupted from him.

His expression became frighteningly dark, and the surrounding space began to crackle with explosive sounds.

"No! Nothing happened to Gran!"

Chronoa immediately realized that she had worded things badly.

"He's fine! He was just delayed by something!"

Of course.

Anyone would lose their composure upon hearing that their disciple might not be coming back.

"Can you stop telling me things halfway?"

Whis rolled his eyes helplessly.

The overwhelming pressure around him instantly disappeared, and he returned to his usual gentle, amiable demeanor.

"Now tell me. What delayed him?"

"Well, it's like this…"

Chronoa stuck out her little tongue before beginning to explain everything, starting from the incident involving Demigra.

By the end, she had told Whis the entire story.

"Hmm?"

Whis's expression became meaningful.

"So you're saying that Gran entered that rift and hasn't come back since?"

"Yes!"

Chronoa was afraid Whis would start worrying about Gran again, so she quickly explained.

"I originally tried to stop Gran, but Lord Time King—sent me a message at the time. He said it would be good for Gran to learn more about what was happening."

"I see."

Whis removed the food from the dining table and replaced it with a tea set.

Chronoa was somewhat surprised.

Other than his initial emotional reaction when Gran's safety was brought up, Whis hadn't shown the slightest bit of concern afterward.

"Do you already know something?"

Chronoa asked suspiciously.

"What could I possibly know?"

There was a profound meaning hidden within Whis's tone.

Chronoa:

"…"

"Then why did you come back alone?"

Whis poured her a cup of tea.

Chronoa really thought this version of Whis was strange.

But this clearly wasn't the time to dwell on it.

"Wasn't Gran supposed to hold the Universal Martial Arts Tournament in Age 766?"

"I thought you came back to ask for reinforcements. So that's what this is about."

"How could that be?"

Chronoa shook her head.

"Gran is so incredibly powerful, and Lord Time King has already stepped in as well. Why would I need to ask anyone else for reinforcements?"

Chronoa sat down and took a sip of tea.

"This Universal Martial Arts Tournament is very important to Gran. He was delayed by this incident, and if the tournament isn't handled properly, he'll definitely be disappointed."

"Oh?"

Whis smiled.

"You care about him that much?"

"Gran is a Time Patrol member now. What's wrong with me caring about him a little?"

Chronoa puffed out her cheeks.

"Besides, I was the one who asked him to come help me this time. I can't just let other matters become another source of trouble for him."

"Then what am I supposed to do?"

"The most important thing right now is to have someone host the Universal Martial Arts Tournament."

Chronoa paused.

"Since Gran isn't available, we can only have you host it…"

Before she could finish, Whis waved his hand.

"I'm an Angel. I cannot host this tournament based on my own judgment."

"Then what do we do?"

Only then did Chronoa remember the responsibilities of an Angel.

And at that moment...

Two figures suddenly appeared beside them.

It was Old Kai and Kibito.

"Greetings, Whis."

"Greetings, Mr. Whis."

The two respectfully bowed to Whis.

Whis nodded at them.

Old Kai noticed that Chronoa was also there and looked puzzled.

"Why are you here?"

Old Kai still had no idea that Chronoa had taken Gran with her to hunt down Mechikabura.

Chronoa snorted.

"None of your business!"

Old Kai:

"…"

"Lord Old Kai, what brings you here?"

Whis glanced at Chronoa, then at Old Kai and Kibito.

"You two wouldn't happen to have come here because of the Universal Martial Arts Tournament, would you?"

"Huh?"

Old Kai and Kibito were surprised that Whis already knew.

"Yes."

Old Kai nodded.

"The entire Seventh Universe is now questioning whether that Universal Martial Arts Tournament is even real. If we don't hold it properly this time, we may never be able to organize another tournament like this in the future."

Old Kai once again explained the concerns weighing on his mind.

"That little bastard Gran created this mess himself and left us to deal with it…"

Whis rubbed the bridge of his nose and sighed toward Old Kai.

"So what exactly do you plan to do?"

"Since Gran isn't here, I plan to wake up Lord Beerus!"

Old Kai hadn't forgotten the responsibilities of an Angel, so unlike Chronoa, he hadn't immediately asked Whis to take charge.

However…

There was obvious reluctance in Old Kai's voice.

Beerus's temper when being awakened was simply too terrifying.

If there were any other option, Old Kai absolutely would not want to wake that guy up.

"That's a good idea!"

Chronoa's eyes lit up.

She had actually forgotten that the Seventh Universe still had someone like Beerus.

In truth, she couldn't really be blamed for forgetting.

Beerus spent almost all of his time sleeping, so his presence was practically nonexistent.

It was similar to certain future timelines.

Even when the Seventh Universe in those timelines faced crises that could lead to universal destruction, Beerus was still sleeping.

As a result, the Supreme Kai would be killed, and Beerus would die along with him.

"Chronoa, why are you reacting so strongly?"

Old Kai looked at her in confusion.

"Because I came here for the same reason."

"Why?"

"Because Gran was delayed by something, so I came back to help him deal with this!"

"Huh?"

Old Kai immediately became anxious.

"Then you know where Gran is? Where is he now?"

He hurriedly continued.

"Don't tell me you sent him on another Time Patrol mission? If that's the case, hurry up and bring him back!"

He fired off question after question.

Chronoa's forehead began twitching.

"Alright."

Whis interrupted them.

"Gran can't come back right now. Let's wake Lord Beerus first."

Old Kai still wanted to ask more questions, but Whis had already begun walking toward the God of Destruction Palace.

Seeing this, Old Kai said nothing more and quickly followed him.
