Chapter 89 - Chapter 88 : The Uzumaki Clan's Innate Ability

You have the experience. Whatever plan you decide on, I'll follow."

Beside them, Yugao blinked her large eyes innocently, simply waiting for orders.

She wasn't one to argue....whatever her seniors decided, she'd do.

Kakashi felt a quiet sense of relief. Strength was one thing, but knowing one's place during a mission was another.

Arata's discipline earned his respect.

Clearing his throat, Kakashi continued, "Our main goal is to extract the two Uzumaki safely and return to Konoha. Here's the plan.

"

"Arata.....you're with me. We'll infiltrate the village together.

The timing's perfect right now. First, we'll talk to the Uzumakis, see if they're willing to come with us voluntarily. If they agree, great.

If not… you'll use genjutsu to put them under and bring them out quietly. We can persuade them later on the road."

Arata's gaze flickered slightly....surprise mixed with understanding.

It seemed Kakashi knew at least part of the truth behind the Land of Whirlpools' fall.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have anticipated resistance from the Uzumakis.

Kakashi then turned to Yugao. "You'll stay outside the village perimeter.

Set traps along our retreat path in case we're followed. Once you're done, prepare to cover our exit."

He paused briefly. "Understood? Any questions?"

Both Arata and Yugao nodded silently.

"Good." Kakashi's voice hardened. "Then let's begin."

With that, he activated his Camouflage Stealth once more.

When he turned, he noticed Arata doing the same, perfectly matching his chakra suppression.

A flicker of surprise crossed Kakashi's eyes, but he said nothing....just gave a quick hand signal and took the lead toward the village.

Arata followed soundlessly behind, his steps light as a shadow.

Yugao stayed behind, setting up the traps as planned.

The infiltration went smoothly. Thanks to Kakashi's earlier reconnaissance, and since the Uzumaki mother and daughter lived on the village outskirts, sneaking in posed little challenge.

Now came the most delicate part...convincing the Uzumakis to come willingly.

If they succeeded, the hardest half of the mission would already be complete.

Uchiha Arata and Kakashi arrived at the small hut where karin and her mother lived.

There was no time for formalities—they didn't even bother to knock.

The door creaked open, and the two slipped inside silently.

Inside, the air was faintly damp, filled with the scent of old wood and decay.

The room was bare.....just a rough bed, a small table, and a few scattered utensils.

It was barely enough to call a home, and Arata could tell at a glance how difficult life had been for the mother and daughter who lived here.

Their mission targets were curled up together on the bed, fast asleep.

The girl, Karin, looked thin but relatively healthy; her mother, however, was pale and gaunt, her breathing shallow.

Arata activated his Sharingan briefly.....what he saw matched Kakashi's earlier report.

The woman's chakra flow was alarmingly weak, almost extinguished.

Even if she stopped being drained now, her body might never fully recover.

But if the Grass ninja continued to feed off her, she wouldn't last long.

After a brief look around, Arata and Kakashi exchanged a knowing glance. Without words, they agreed it was time.

Arata approached the bed and gently placed a hand on the mother's shoulder.

Her body tensed immediately. Even in her weakened state, her instincts were sharp.

She awoke with a start, eyes wide and fearful, clutching her daughter even tighter in her arms.....as though the world itself were trying to take her child away.

Arata had expected resistance, but her fierce, protective reaction eased his mind a little.

It was the kind of response only a mother could give.....proof that she still had something to fight for. That, at least, could be reasoned with.

He softened his expression, his handso

me face illuminated by the dim light.

His voice was low, calm, and warm as he said, "Don't be afraid. We're shinobi from Konoha.

We came because our Hokage received information that a mother and daughter of the Uzumaki clan were being mistreated here in Grass Village.

We've been ordered to bring you safely back to Konoha."

The woman's panic faded for a moment....then her expression hardened.

She clutched Karin even closer and said coldly, "You don't need to trouble your

selves.
