But then Arata reconsidered. Only those who survive have a future.
Even one of the Legendary Sannin...Jiraiya.....had entered Amegakure but never returned alive.
Shisui and Itachi both possessed Mangekyō Sharingan and had achieved Kage-level power, yet compared to Jiraiya, both their strength and experience were still lacking.
Moreover, Arata firmly believed that both of them could overcome psychological dependence and grow into true shinobi.
After finishing his thoughts, Arata offered no explanation. Instead, he opened his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
Under Shisui and Itachi's confused gazes, he reached out with a wave of his hand.....erasing the simplified space marks he had previously placed on their foreheads.
Then he extended his index finger and lightly tapped their brow centers, leaving behind a sky-blue mark.....the complete version of his space mark.
The mark flickered a few times before slowly fading from view.
Shisui and Itachi touched their foreheads, feeling a faint difference.
They could sense the new mark was not the same as before. Both turned toward Arata, waiting for his explanation.
The marks Arata gave them were the same type he had given Uchiha Mikoto....marks that allowed entry into his personal dimension.
However, the coordinates in Shisui's and Itachi's marks had been changed.
Instead of leading to Takama-ga-hara, Arata had linked their marks to his newly obtained Kamui dimension.
He wasn't foolish. Even if he wanted to give them a safeguard, he would never link anyone casually to Takama-ga-hara. That place was his personal sanctuary.
Only people he absolutely trusted (or those under Kotoamatsukami) would ever be given access. He refused to leave any openings that could threaten his safety.
Then Arata briefly explained the abilities of the full space mark:
By sending patterned chakra pulses, they could transmit simple messages to him (similar to Morse code).
If their lives were in imminent danger, they could directly teleport into his Kamui dimension.
However, once inside Kamui, they could not exit on their own.
They would need Arata to enter the space and lead them out when he had time.....or more crudely, he could forcibly release them using Kamui.
There was one more function: should Arata encounter an emergency, he could summon them back instantly, regardless of what they were doing.
But Arata rarely used this function. If even he felt threatened by an enemy, summoning the two of them would likely not make a difference.
Only now did Shisui and Itachi understand why the new mark felt so different.
This was a true lifeline.....a last resort escape route tethered to Arata's space.
Once Shisui and Itachi finished examining the marks, Arata's tone became extremely solemn.
"This space mark is to be used only as a final, unavoidable measure.
You must never allow yourselves to become dependent on it. True strength is built through one's own abilities."
"If you allow dependency to grow, not only will your path as true shinobi be cut off, but during missions, your mindset will shift.
You'll relax your guard without realizing it...and that will give the enemy the opening to kill you."
"For this reason, I am setting a rule:
Anyone who returns during a mission using the mark will automatically be considered to have failed the mission.
You will be put in confinement for three days and receive further punishment depending on the circumstances."
Shisui and Itachi immediately understood the gravity of the matter.
Their backs straightened, their expressions hardened, and they acknowledged the order with firm determination.
After setting these rules, Arata let out a small breath of relief. Shisui and Itachi were rare geniuses born into the Uchiha clan.
Without counting his own anomalous abilities, even Arata would need to retreat when facing them head-on.
Originally, with so many prodigies, the Uchiha clan should have been destined for a golden era.
But after a series of unpredictable events, instead of rising, the clan was nearly wiped out. In the end, only Sasuke remained.
Arata could never understand Sasuke's logic.
A boy who had sworn since childhood to revive the Uchiha clan...yet once the world achieved peace, he still wandered around instead of staying home and having children.
He had only one daughter and then stopped.
Was he planning to leave the revival of the Uchiha clan to her? And when she married, would the Uchiha name vanish completely?
Arata shook his head, pushing thoughts of Sasuke aside. Sasuke was still young.
There was plenty of time to educate him....to make him understand the importance of "many children, prosperous clan," and to treat the revival of the Uchiha as his life mission.
Once these matters were settled, Arata turned to Shisui.
"Shisui, did you tell Itachi about the abilities of my Mangekyō?"
Shisui immediately understood what Arata intended, but he still shook his head.
"Without your permission, I would never reveal your abilities to anyone. That includes Itachi."
Itachi, hearing their exchange, turned toward them with a puzzled expression.
He had Mangekyō abilities as well, and while they were indeed powerful and significant for combat, he didn't think they needed such extreme secrecy.
Seeing Itachi's confusion, Shisui didn't explain. Instead, he looked toward Arata.....asking silently whether they should reveal it.
After all, Arata was planning to copy Itachi's ocular ability soon.
It would need to be explained.
