"The surgery's going well, and they'll be going on a by-pass soon. We expect to be done in three hours." Dr Wilson said plainly. Somehow, he had heard what he wasn't supposed to hear. Bowing his head, he struggled with his feelings—Ava wasn't his girlfriend, neither had she considered, reciprocating what he felt for her, and he had known that she loved him more like a father, or a brother.
Dr Wilson sighed weakly.
It would have been better, if none existed, cos what he had just heard, felt like stabbing betrayal...He turned to go. The thoughts running wildly in his mind, wasn't in the least, necessary. He had work to do. Dr Lian had asked him to give Alfred's family some update. Now he had done so, the only good thing to do, was walk away, now, from here; and from Ava—later.
