Chapter 150: Roy VS Silva x The "Four-Armed" Roy Debuts
Zeno dug his toes into the floor, pretending not to hear the old man's sarcastic remarks.
As usual, he stood behind Maha and massaged his shoulders. "Grandfather, Father is still alive, isn't he?"
"What are you trying to say? Spit it out or get lost." Maha didn't even lift his eyelids, continuing to rock in his chair.
"It was Roy who reminded me." Zeno wasn't annoyed by the rebuke. His hands moved smoothly from Maha's shoulders down his spine to his back. "I didn't tell you everything over the phone. The timing of the 'curse' appearing on the boy's hand is a bit subtle..."
Zeno's white hair flowed, the "A Kill a Day" on his chest fluttering. The former Zoldyck head frowned, pausing before speaking heavily, "You know Silva and I both went deep into Father's memories, and... nothing happened."
"Yet the moment Roy entered the [Game], he was targeted. I've been thinking these past few days... perhaps Father... has taken a liking to the boy..."
Maha kept his eyes closed and said nothing.
Zeno moved his hands up to massage the old man's head, choosing his words carefully. "You saw it too. That 'curse' is unusual. Besides 'Nen', there's something else..."
Maha interrupted him impatiently. "Cut the crap. Just say 'Faith'!"
The old man grunted irritably. "This is the Zoldyck estate, not the Dark Continent. No matter how long those 'guys'' arms are, they can't reach here!"
"You're right, Grandfather." Zeno squatted down, offering his forehead in a gesture of accepting punishment.
Maha raised his hand, then lowered it again. After a moment, he sighed with a lack of interest. "Fine, I know... The [Book] is in the right drawer. Take it to him..."
"Yes, sir."
At that time, the night faded, and a sliver of light tore through the darkness, announcing to the world that dawn was breaking.
The dimly lit small room fell into a long silence...
Roy left the castle and headed down the mountain, passing through the dense forest and the butlers' quarters. At the mountain path entrance, he ran into a "pig head"... The "pig head" heard the noise and bowed to him. "Good morning, Young Master."
The corner of his mouth twitched, aggravating his injuries, making him grimace in pain. Clearly, he'd been beaten badly yesterday!
"Mm." Roy glanced at Kastro, brushed past his shoulder, ran down, then turned back and returned to his bedroom. After a quick shower, Gotoh arrived right on time, dutiful as ever on his first day back, pushing the food cart.
"What happened to your face?"
The young butler's face was bruised, the corner of his eye split open. Despite his efforts to cover it with makeup, Roy saw through it instantly.
"Just taught a monkey a lesson. It's nothing." Gotoh didn't mention the fight with Kastro yesterday.
Since he didn't want to elaborate, Roy didn't ask. He sat quietly at the table eating breakfast, listening to Gotoh's report on Kurapika's arrangements.
"As per your instructions, Young Master, I've arranged for someone to take her through 'physical conditioning'. Once she's adapted to the rhythm, we'll proceed with opening her Nen nodes."
"No rush." Roy took a bite of his bacon sandwich, thinking of Kurapika... With the "Scarlet Eyes," the Kurta Clan had a high ceiling. She was worth cultivating. "Wait until she can push open two Testing Gates before opening her nodes."
"Yes, sir."
Gotoh deftly handed him a napkin. Roy took it and looked up at him. "And you?"
The young butler pushed up his glasses. "The blade is ready, awaiting the Young Master."
Roy had mentioned the "Breathing Secret Technique" that could enhance physical fitness and boost combat power to Gotoh on the airship. Gotoh figured that once he learned it... he definitely wouldn't be as wretched as yesterday, even if...
He had been the victor in the end.
"5 PM. Wait for me by the pond."
Roy wiped his mouth slowly, pushed back his chair, and stood up. He reached out his hand. Whoosh... Whoosh...
"Snow-Walker" and the "Cane Sword" flew to him one after the other. He caught them firmly in his hands.
The red sun had risen, pouring down the morning glow. Shining through the bright glass window onto the boy, it draped him in a cloak of light.
Gotoh bowed. "Young Master... good luck..."
Roy didn't look back. "I'll take your blessing."
A swamp appeared beneath his feet. Under the butler's astonished gaze, he sank into the ground... reappearing outside the door...
Whoosh~ A mountain breeze blew. Gotoh stared blankly. He subconsciously looked outside again. Roy vanished and reappeared, moving like a ghost, completely unpredictable...
Truly... "As expected of the Young Master!"
Having seen too many "strange things" happen around Roy, the young butler quickly adjusted his mindset. He cleared the dishes and pushed the cart out towards the warehouse... Since the Young Master said he would meet him by the pond deep in the mountains at 5 PM, he wouldn't break his word. He would definitely... return safely.
Until then, all Gotoh had to do... was prepare his sword and wait quietly.
Tap... tap... Master and servant parted ways...
At a corner of the wall, Roy emerged again, arriving outside the dimly lit small room. He saw the two old men, finished with breakfast, standing with hands behind their backs, leaning against the window frame, sunbathing...
He approached unhurriedly and called out, "Grandfather... Great-Great-Grandfather..."
Zeno nodded slightly to him. Maha watched the red sun turn white as it fully rose and said lazily, "Go."
7:54 AM.
The door to the training room was open, revealing a tall figure.
His legs were each propped on a stone block, back to the open door, stretching in a split...
Roy walked past Zeno and Maha in silence. On the way, he transformed... shrinking in size, skin wrinkling, back hunching slightly, black hair frosted white. He turned into Zzigg, looking at Silva from afar as if to say: "Your Grandpa is here! Get over here!"
Maha and Zeno: "..."
They exchanged a look. Maha laughed and cursed, "Stinking brat, trying to bluff his dad!"
His old eyes were fixed on the boy, filled with longing and reminiscence...
"Grandfather misses Father... Roy really knows how to push buttons..." Zeno noticed Maha's reaction. He watched Roy, in the guise of Zzigg, walk unhurriedly towards the training room, instantly understanding Roy's intent...
Building momentum!
As the old saying goes: First drum courage, second drum waning, third drum exhausted... Knowing there is a gap in strength, yet marching forward fearlessly—that is courage!
The boy was "borrowing the tiger's might," using Zzigg's appearance to bolster his own spirit!
A hundred steps... fifty steps... thirty... twenty... ten... until—
He stopped at the door. He looked up into a pair of sharp eyes, indifferent yet tinged with surprise... followed by...
An explosion of killing intent!
It crashed down on him!
Silva turned abruptly. Initially, it was just a test... but now, it seemed he didn't need to hold back!
Crackle~
Father and son faced off, electricity crackling in the air...
In the garden adjacent to the training room, a small butler chased Milluki, trying to stop him from peeing randomly... The fat kid refused, thrusting his hips out and aiming at Illumi hanging from the tree...
The result was Milluki turning into a shooting star on the horizon, rolling out of Illumi's sight... Illumi flipped down from the tree, retracted his legs, crossed his arms, and leaned against the thick willow trunk. He wisely didn't approach, his vacant eyes reflecting two figures, one large and one small, watching quietly...
Suddenly, a flash of sword light cut through the sky... Sching!
"Snow-Walker" and the "Cane Sword" were drawn simultaneously!
The boy's silver hair flew upwards. His momentum peaked. His slightly bent back straightened in this moment...
Zzzt~ Killing intent clashed with spirit... ripples distorted the air.
Silva watched Roy silently. "Your Grandpa Zzigg didn't use a sword."
Roy held his dual blades. They turned red, ignited... two torrents of flame burst forth. He flourished them, sending out waves of heat. "Did he play with fire?"
SNAP!
A loud crack split the floor!
Silva twisted "Nen" into "threads," then into a "whip"... "Nen Whip" in hand, he looked down at Roy, the corner of his mouth pulling up into a smile...
"Him, I don't know. But... you..."
The man narrowed his eyes. "Are playing with fire!"
Roy nodded in agreement. He looked up, and suddenly, two forty-meter-long flaming sword auras crossed and slashed towards Silva...
Sizzle~ Trenches appeared, heat waves surged... sharp edges revealed...
Before it even reached Silva, the force forced his waist-length silver hair back, blowing it wild!
Ken?
The flames were solid, orange-red on the surface, terrifying white at the core... Silva had killed countless people, spending his life either on a mission or on the way to one. Even without using Gyo, his naked eyes could judge... his eldest son had grown capable. He had learned Ken!
Crack... Crack... Two explosions shattered eardrums!
Ken vs. Ken. Silva flipped his wrist. The "Nen Whip" armored up, instantly doubling in thickness!
Like a spiritual snake, flicking its tongue, it coiled towards the flaming sword aura... BOOM! The "Nen" exploded!
It grazed past Roy and Silva, pouring out recklessly... slicing walls, piercing windows, like someone strafing the room with a heavy machine gun. Debris everywhere, not a single spot left intact...
"Take it outside." A ghostly "command" drifted in... Maha's eyelid twitched painfully. He rapped Zeno on the head. "Why didn't you say the brat learned Ken earlier?"
Wasteful brat. Spackling, painting, floor tiles... don't they cost money?
Zeno took the hit, suffering in silence... The old man was already mad at him; who dared speak up?
Inside the training room.
Silva said nothing, flashing out through the broken window...
Roy followed close behind. A swamp appeared beneath his feet as he traveled underground, activating En to track Silva's position... "Nen aura" spread silently from him as the center... misty and wispy, it passed Illumi, passed Silva, drifting until it enveloped Maha and Zeno... reaching over a hundred meters away...
"Here it comes again!" Illumi, hiding on the sidelines to watch the show, suddenly felt his "mind" jump. He immediately remembered that night in Zaban City... the same "Nen aura," the same familiarity, the same "prying"... "So it was you, my dear brother..."
My foolish, dear little brother finally understood. Far from jumping in anger at having his "inner voice" exposed, he watched surprisingly calmly as Roy burst from the ground, circled behind Silva, and thrust a lightning-fast stab at his heart...
Thinking: "Now you know how much I care about you..."
Schlick~ The blade tip pierced the air with a sharp whistle!
Zeno, hands behind his back, glanced at Maha. "For the record, I didn't know when Roy learned En either."
Maha savored the "misty" "Nen aura," his old eyes reflecting the sword light. With a shake of his body, he dispersed the "mist," chuckling, "Not just En. The brat is crafty, trying to eavesdrop on this old man's 'inner voice'. Needs a beating!"
Snap~ The "Nen Whip" seemed to have eyes. Though held in Silva's hand, it abruptly whipped backward. Just before the flaming blade tip reached Silva's heart, it struck the blade. Then...
Roy felt his hand sink, deflected instantly, flying past Silva's shoulder!
En combined with a suspected swamp-spatial Nen ability... The man flicked his wrist, chasing with another whip strike, turning the tables. Seizing the gap from Roy's missed thrust, he lashed at his back. He had to admit... the boy had indeed improved during his time away!
At least... that bizarre "swamp spatial ability" caught his eye!
"Three whips... Father, this is your third whip, right..."
Whoosh~ The sound came from behind, alarms blaring in his mind... Back to the solid, arm-thick "Nen Whip," the boy didn't panic. He threw his hands back!
"Snow-Walker" and the "Cane Sword" flew from his hands!
Coated in Nen, they slashed at the whip... Silva glanced over, surprised. Shu!
Shu, Ken, En... the boy had learned three of the five advanced techniques... Silva flicked his wrist, the "Nen Whip" sweeping the dual blades away. He looked at Roy with burning eyes. "You've improved faster than I thought."
Though he said that... Roy raised a hand. [Magnetism: Attract]. Instantly, "Snow-Walker" and the "Cane Sword" were sucked back into his grasp. He looked at Silva and said calmly, "Even so, Father intends to continue, don't you?"
Silva neither confirmed nor denied. Another airborne whip strike lashed towards Roy, answering with action.
"That was just a warm-up. This is the test..."
As Silva spoke, the "Nen Whip," wrapped in Ken, was fiercer than a steel whip. Not only was the force immense, but its flexibility far exceeded steel... highlighting the Emitter trait: Big "Aura," Flying "Bricks"!
"Silva is serious." In the corridor, Zeno narrowed his eyes, seeing clearly. "Three whips failed to take Roy down. He's annoyed."
"What if three more whips don't take him down?" Maha asked suddenly.
Zeno froze, no time to ponder the question, as he saw...
Whoosh—
Facing his father's violent whip strike, the boy didn't dodge or evade. "Wings" sprouted from his ribs. Below his two arms, two more arms extended. One hand condensed a magnetic field, raising a [Magnetic Shield]. One hand conjured the "Training Blade." Suddenly...
From "Dual Blades," he became "Triple Blades"!
