Clenching his hand, Ray lowered his head, feeling a sense of defeat wash over him. He was unable to breathe normally as tears slowly fell like raindrops, gritting his teeth. Ray said, "Congratulations, you have won."
Reinhard looked at him and put his hand on Ray's head. "Well, welcome to the group."
Venica jumped from Ray's back, looking at what was happening, putting her finger to her lips. "So, what is happening, and what are you doing here, Reinhard?"
Reinhard touched his head, explaining everything to her. She was a little dumbfounded, gazing toward Ray to see his crying face, a small smirk appeared. She closed in on him and tapped his head," There, there, don't cry, little dummy."
Ray's face turned red as he pushed her hand away, standing up, weeping his tears, looking at her with cold eyes." Don't treat me like that."
Venica walked toward Reinhard, took off her bracelet and handed it to him. She touched the side of the bracelet a loud beep was heard.
Closing the bracelet toward his mouth, Reinhard spoke," So if it's not our great emperor, Sir Alucard."
A cold voice came out from the bracelet, "What are you talking about, you idiot, just speak without sounding weird."
Everyone there was calm, except Ray, whose face was shocked after hearing the name, who wouldn't, after all, he had just heard the name of the one of three great knights, the repleanse known for his might and leading Thallus, he is called the sinless judge Alucard vor, yet somehow Reinhard was talking to him informally like they were friends.
Ray listened to everything they had talked about; some were trivial matter where some were thing ray had never heard.
The factory of night, Rogan, Kyel.
He dismissed most of what he heard as useless or would learn them later, as the bitter taste of defeat was still lingering with him.
Ray was still down as he looked to Reinhard, handing the bracelet back to Venica. A sudden realisation hit him as he pointed his finger at Reinhard; his calm and collective expression, which he had most of the time, was taken by anger and confusion.
"Now I see, no wonder I lost, you planned this from the start, working with them so you could make me lose, so it wasn't a fair bet after all."
Ray smirked, putting his finger at Reinhard. "So why don't we make a new bet, you and me, new rules, new rewards?"
Reinhard looked at Ray, trying to figure out what was happening in his head, but nothing seemed to come; sighing, he spoke, "Fine, I will let that, but first let me hear your rules."
Ray Smile Widened, stretching his hand. "Well, the rules are simple. First, let me tell you, what I am doing is just catching the attacker and fighting him in combat."
The last statement stunned everyone. "Are you out of your mind!" Reinhard said those words as his face grew dark.
"SHUT UP! You have no right to say anything until I accept you as my leader, so don't think you can boss me around. I am the one who can say or do anything. If you do not agree with it, you will not make me work with you, or else you will accept my bet."
"Fine, so what is the reward?"
"If you win, I will work as your slave, but if I win, I will have a special authority inside the organisation. My rule is that if I get caught by anyone outside the attacker, it will not count, and the rest stay the same."
HAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAAHA
Reinhard laughed uncontrollably, looking behind him," So what do you think, Rico?"
A tall and linear man came behind Reinhard. He had worn clothes similar to Reinhard's. Ray examined him to sense that the man was weird, having dishevelled hair. The man still had a charm to him; he had brown skin that was much lighter than Reinhard's.
He walked and stood in front of Ray. He touched his spiral glass, pulling a notebook from his pocket as he began writing with a quill that he pulled from his sleeve.
"AH, yes, I see, he is the one."
Pointing his hand at the man, Ray asked Reinhard in a robotic voice," Who is this cringe dude?"
"Well, why doesn't he introduce himself to you?"
The man began spinning around as he put his hand to his chest, bowing. He spoke, showing a bright smile that blined ray, "I am just a minor poet that seek love. My name is Rico."
'Wait, a poet, "Ray was thinking as he tried remembering him, and it came to him. He remembered a book of poetry his aunt gave him, saying it was her favourite book, thinking it might be worth the while, he tried to find something just to be cringey by it. He was throwing up after reading the first few pages of it, so how could he forget the author who made it like that?
"So, it is you." Ray's cold voice made the man look up, as his face slowly turned pale.
Ray cracked his knuckles, "Don't worry, I will just knock you down."
