Chapter 417: The Thunder Tyrant Takes the Field!
BOOM!
Suddenly, Tyranitar's mountainous silhouette launched itself into the air,
leaping nearly twenty meters above the cratered floor.
Raichu looked up, its tiny body trembling as the massive shadow blotted out the
sky. A drop of sweat rolled down its cheek. If twenty tons of armored stone fell
from that height, the resulting impact wouldn't just crush Raichu—it would
likely level the entire valley floor.
"HOOOOOOOOOR!"
High above, Tyranitar roared, channeling every ounce of its berserk Outrage into
one final, world-shattering strike.
CRASH—BOOM!
"Protect!" Yuna screamed.
The impact was cataclysmic. The earth didn't just shake; it buckled and groaned.
A seismic shockwave rippled through the valley, sending cracks racing across the
arena's surface and throwing Kenji off balance. He nearly went to his knees as
the dust cloud billowed outward like a volcanic eruption.
When the dust finally began to settle, Tyranitar stood tall in the center of a
massive impact crater, its chest heaving.
Inside the arena, the ground was a nightmare of jagged stone and deep fissures.
For a moment, there was no sign of Raichu. It seemed as though the little
Pokémon had been buried alive under the landslide.
"Rai…!"
A faint cry echoed. From beneath a pile of rubble, a spark of yellow electricity
flickered. Raichu scrambled out, its fur matted with gray dust and its body
covered in bruises. It had survived thanks to Protect, but the sheer force of
the shockwave had still taken a heavy toll. It was panting, its movements
sluggish.
It survived that? Incredible, Kenji thought with a hint of regret.
"Come back, Tyranitar."
Kenji raised his Poké Ball, and the red beam recalled the giant. While Tyranitar
had fully stacked its Titan's Resolve and could likely finish the job, the size
disparity made the fight feel awkward—like a human trying to squash a
particularly fast beetle. Tyranitar had done its work; it was time for a more
surgical approach.
Kenji gripped a second Poké Ball, his eyes flashing with anticipation.
"I'm counting on you! Electivire!"
"BO-QIAAAAA!"
A flash of red light, and the Thunder Tyrant materialized in the arena. It let
out a guttural roar, its twin tails lashing the air like high-voltage whips.
Against a master of Electric-types like Yuna, Electivire was a tactical
nightmare. Between its typing and its mastery of lightning, standard Electric
moves were useless against it—they served only as fuel.
However, a Champion-tier Raichu was still a dangerous opponent, even without its
primary element.
"Electivire! Quick Attack!"
"BO-QIA!"
Lightning sparked across Electivire's fur as it vanished into a blur, streaking
across the cracked earth like a bolt of golden light.
"Raichu! Upper Hand!"
Upper Hand—a specialized strike designed to intercept and punish priority moves.
Raichu dropped to all fours, its eyes locking onto the incoming blur, waiting
for the split-second Electivire would be forced to commit to the hit.
Just as Electivire reached the point of impact, Raichu leaped, its tail glowing
as it prepared to counter-strike.
But then, Electivire grinned.
In that instant, Electivire's palms erupted with a localized magnetic field. The
electricity stored in Raichu's cheek pouches—the very source of its power—was
forcibly jerked toward Electivire's hands.
The sudden, violent pull on its internal energy caused Raichu's body to lock up
mid-air. Its counter-move failed instantly. Like a moth drawn to a flame, the
tiny Pokémon was sucked right into Electivire's reach.
Electivire didn't hesitate. It snatched Raichu by the tail mid-flight and
slammed it into the ground with the force of a falling anvil.
Slam!
BOOM!
"RAI!" Raichu shrieked in pain as its head bounced off the jagged stone.
"What?!" Yuna's eyes widened in disbelief.
Electivire wasn't finished. A Champion-tier Pokémon wouldn't go down from one
hit. Keeping a firm grip on Raichu's tail, it raised its free hand, which began
to glow with a sharp, white light.
Brick Break!
It rained down a series of brutal, chopping blows. After three rapid-fire
strikes to the head and torso, Raichu's eyes rolled back, and it went limp.
Electivire let out a huff, casually tossing the unconscious Pokémon aside.
Yuna stood frozen for a moment. As a veteran trainer, she had seen almost
everything, but this? She couldn't wrap her head around it. Electivire hadn't
just dodged; it had commanded the electricity inside Raichu's own body.
Even a Legendary Zapdos didn't typically display such domineering control over
the internal biology of another Electric-type. If Electivire could weaponize an
opponent's own energy against them, it was the ultimate apex predator of its
type.
Yuna's expression turned somber. She recalled Raichu and reached for her second
Poké Ball.
"You're full of surprises, Kenji. Let's see how you handle this. Go!
Electivire!"
"BO-QIA!"
A second Electivire landed in the arena. It was smaller than Kenji's, but its
presence was dense, humming with the refined power of a Champion-tier veteran.
The two titans locked eyes. No words were needed—the air between them crackled
with invisible static as they sized each other up.
[System Notification]
Target: Electivire (Yuna's) Gender: Female Level: 96 Type: Electric Ability:
Motor Drive Potential: S-
Yuna's Electivire also had the Motor Drive ability.
Kenji frowned. This was a stalemate situation. If he tried to use his signature
Thunder Armor (coating his Pokémon in its own electricity), Yuna's Electivire
would simply absorb the excess energy through Motor Drive, skyrocketing its
speed. The same applied in reverse.
The battle of the Thunder Tyrants had begun, and it wouldn't be won with
lightning—it would be won with raw, physical brutality.
