He looked around to see if their is something to increase their survival and a simple analysis glitch has caught his attention. The system suddenly provided a complex yet understandable instruction on how to activate the portal prototype. Their is also data logs of the portal research found within the bunch of files stacked inside the computer. Luckily there is a flash drive port. He transfered every informations and files he find into the drive and reconnect it to his gloves. Having the instructions about restarting this portal tech. He commands.
"Everyone reactivate the stabilizer over there. There should be levers activate 1,4 ,and 7 you Yao take the left one, archer you go right!"
"Got it!" Without a much questioned ask, they followed his word. They were on a portal research lab afterall. This large hexagonal machine hole has 2 stabilizer mainly to stabilize time and space separately. Without any of them the portal will not function or if they break after the portal is on. The portal will not close for a few hours but attempting to enter is simply death wish.
This portal is still in experimental stage but there is a few successes in the research progress so they have to gamble to survive here.
"What about me what should I do" volzar and the other spoke.
"Don't worry just rest a bit might as well block that guy from banging the door. Buy me some time I'm figuring out how to make it work." William replied heavily locked in to his current focus.
After a couple of minutes, the hexagonal gate started to spun a purple energy that has become visible to the naked eye. It started to forming a vivid picture inside of it as it gradually been enveloped with the purple energy. Due to his hasty work, William merely set the coordinates to the outside of the facility. He hoped his people will survive this. No they will. It is already proven that it worked with the only side effect is a slight dizziness. And there is no history of death during testing except for those with the stabilizer malfunctioning.
"Everyone! Enter now!"
Everyone made haste but volzar got tripped with the roots. A loud shreiks could be heard with a slight shaking of the ground. Not sure what it is they instead focus on escaping.
William lend him his shoulder and start walking but suddenly the door broke and the mutant rushed like a raging ox.
William pushed volzar into the portal and he got rammed by the mutant straight into the stabilizer.
"Noo! William-!!" The last cry of yu Yao after the portal gone haywire and got cut off. William is now all alone with no way out.
The portal is still active but it has become unnaturally unstable.
" Come at me!" William shouted his gaze shifted like a serious predator. Dodging the mutants rampaging attack.
The mutant is eerily bizarre but still recognized as zombie like.
It has chainsaw on it's hand, good thing his swing speed is slow or William might not be able to dodge it. With no ammunition, William tried a knife. But it's skin is so tough, even with his superhuman strength. The knife broke instead.
"How am I supposed to kill it. The system analysis basically confirmed it as unkillable in regards to my serious situation. There should be something.. maybe that could work" his eyes looked into the portal. The research logs confirms that portal instability could potentially led those who enters it into the passage of time and space. None survive so far in the records.
Since it have come to this, he made a carefully planned evasion and lured the mutant nearby the portal entrance and at the most critical opportunity, 20 minutes prior he push it as hard as he could by slamming into it after luring it near. With William's strength, he managed to shove him into the portal and the mutant as large as his build was instantly sucked inside the chaotic and twisting energy swirling around it.
William lie to the floor. Feeling all sour in his entire body. He thought he could take a little rest while thinking about how to get out of here.
A while later, he scouted the outside. Corpses of his men scattered here accompanied by destroyed and enactive humanoid metallic husk. To his surprised, the exit collapse, he didn't realize the battle with these bots would let this hallway ceiling to collapse.
He came back to the research room but he was greeted by a tremors and the ground cracks.
What came from those cracks was a root like tentacles, thrashing around the room. Before William could react, a single root manage to hit him in an unfortunate position.
The hit manage to throw William into the unstable portal.
He tried to resist midair but the strike was too strong it was an instant before he knew it. He already arrived inside the portal.
What he witness inside was just a complex colorized zone that constantly changed and flow into a massive hole, the hole stretched with no visible end.
He could not speak even if he had many question in his head, but what stressed him into this money is his intuition of inevitable death. He felt an uncomfortable pain stinging into his whole body. Stretches and merging into the zone.
And then suddenly as if time has stopped. A large eye, so near it covered the entire hole yet it feels very very far than the human eye could see or the mind can comprehend.

Despite the fact that he could not speak it is pretty clear to him they could talk telepathically but it is weird even for him to be able to understand what he say when the eye speaks alien to him.
"W-who are you? Where is this place?"

The eye light sharpens towards William, but nothing happened. Yet something has gone wrong to the system. It is severely malfunction.
Just before he could even finish his desired words. He blacked out after seeing a system notification saying 'rebirth system unlocked, executing forced activation'.
The next thing he saw was a pitch black place with no end and with his image mirroring the floor.

The system slime swallowed William whole. It stored William soul and blood inside it's own virtual space. And it made an instantaneous leap towards the flowing colored zone. By this time, the eye have already vanished.
As it entered the zone, a crack suddenly appeared and the slime arrived in an unforeseen and unfamiliar land.
