Deciding that it was better to change the subject, Jimmy asks his final evaluative question, "Well, I have one last question: have you ever tried to stop doing these things?"
"No… I mean, today was the first time I really thought seriously about it", Mandy replies, scratching the back of her neck.
"Alright, I think that's enough, I already know where the problem is! It's all in your head, you already exercise, you won't gain weight if you eat properly", reaching a conclusion, Jimmy says. There was no real reason for her to keep having bulimia nowadays; basically, this disorder was nothing more than a psychological remnant of her past.
"But…", frowning, Mandy begins to argue, only to be interrupted right at the start.
"Mandy, there is no 'but'; a person only gains weight if they eat more than they burn, and that's not your case. You're stuck in a paranoia from when you were a child!
That's in the past; doing those stupid things while still exercising will only make you weak and malnourished", Jimmy interrupts her, spitting out harsh truths as he gets up from the crate he was sitting on.
Also standing up from the crate, Mandy asks irritably and somewhat indignantly, her voice getting louder the more she spoke, "Are you serious right now? All this concern for this shit to be that simple to fix? What am I supposed to do now, huh? Just think about not having this fucking bulimia anymore, and it magically disappears?"
"Look, technically, your problem is simple, but honestly, nothing that involves the mind is ever truly simple! So I suggest you just keep exercising and start eating well, that way your body will stay in shape and even hotter!", Jimmy says in a calm tone, making her visibly relax.
"And you're going to help me with that?", letting out a sigh, Mandy asks to be sure.
"If I'm having this conversation with you, then of course I'm going to help! Let's do this: I'll put together a diet for you, and we'll start training together every day! And in the future, if you still haven't sorted things out mentally, there's always the possibility of taking care of your mental health with a qualified professional, how about that?", at a certain point, Lucas decided to start taking care of his own body, and as with everything in his life, he went deep into this field at a professional level, so let's just say that Jimmy knows very well how to train the body and structure someone's diet.
"I… what if I relapse and keep forcing myself to throw up?", a bit hesitant, Mandy asks, afraid of having relapses.
"I'll wear you down, I won't get off your back! So relax, I'll keep you in line until you sort this out for good in the future", Jimmy says with a smile, giving Mandy a few pats on the shoulder.
"I… alright, let's try", gathering her courage, Mandy agrees to try what Jimmy suggested.
"Right, we only have one problem, the diet", Jimmy says, thinking about the problem he himself had been having since he arrived at that place.
Confused, Mandy asks, "What do you mean?"
"Well, you're going to have to prepare your own meals…", Jimmy begins to explain, but ends up being interrupted.
"It might not seem like it because of my track record, but I know how to cook very well", Mandy interrupts him, defending her culinary skills, mostly acquired from Home Economics classes.
"Alright, but you didn't let me finish! The problem I was talking about is how the hell we're going to get the ingredients and a kitchen for you to cook in.
I've had this problem myself ever since I joined the school; it's been a month since I've been eating poorly. Sure, I managed to get good results even living off processed sandwiches, but still, it would be nice to eat properly," going back to explaining what the problem was, Jimmy takes the opportunity to vent about the issue he had been having.
Looking flushed at Jimmy's muscular, well-defined torso that he had just shown while mentioning his results, Mandy asks, trying not to show her embarrassment, "... Wait, you've been spending a whole month eating only things that came from a vending machine?"
"Yes, and I refuse to eat anything that comes out of the school cafeteria", pulling his shirt back down, Jimmy says with a grimace of disgust.
Agreeing with a smile, Mandy says, basically making everything easier, "Yeah, anything is better than eating something from that place! Anyway, the girls' dorm has a kitchen that's always stocked with ingredients, and the students can use it freely."
Frowning, Jimmy raises his voice, indignant at the injustice, "What the fuck? The boys' dorm doesn't have that."
Then, Mandy adds, scratching the back of her neck, "Well, I also have a mini fridge and a microwave in my room."
"Holy fucking shit, the world is unfair as hell! Shit, alright, alright, anyway, it looks like you won't have any problems following the diet I'm going to make for you then", swearing out loud, Jimmy comments after composing himself.
"If you want, I can cook for you too", Mandy says, suggesting it.
"Are you sure? Won't that get in your way?", Jimmy asks to be sure.
"No, you're helping me, so that's the least I can do to say thank you!", Mandy says, wanting to repay the help she's going to receive in some way.
"Well, thanks for that, it's going to help me a lot", scratching his head, Jimmy says, thanking her for the help.
Then, before leaving the basement and going their separate ways, the two agree to meet every day at 4:00 AM to exercise together.
=Scene Break=
Returning to the dormitory, as soon as he enters the place, Jimmy sees Melvin sitting alone on the couch in the common area. Around them, some students chatted among themselves, argued, basically living their lives.
"Hey, Melvin!", Jimmy calls his attention, gesturing for him to follow before starting to walk.
As soon as he hears his name being called, Melvin turns his gaze back, and upon seeing Jimmy calling him, he stands up and follows him.
Then, after a few steps, Jimmy opens the door to his room and says, while gesturing with his hand, "Come in."
Entering the room, Melvin looks around a bit before stopping beside Jimmy's work desk, noticing that it was the only place that was a bit messy.
Looking at the papers scattered across the desk, he notices that most of them are sketches of a comic book.
"Are you making a comic?", Melvin asks, pointing to a specific sheet.
It was a yellow page; at the top, there was the One Piece logo in stylized letters, just like the original.
Right below it was written 'Romance Dawn' in smaller letters, and in the middle of the page, there was a detailed, fully colored artwork of three young people, a girl on the left and two boys in the center, and on the right.
The three seemed to be relaxing and celebrating on a small boat in the middle of the sea, the girl was sitting on the railing of the boat with a smile on her face, her hair was orange, she had a voluptuous body, wore a white shirt with blue stripes, a yellow skirt, and in her left hand there was a pair of binoculars.
The boy on the right had short green hair, wore a white shirt with the chest buttons open, his waist was covered by a green striped haramaki, and he was wearing black pants. He was sitting on the floor in a relaxed manner, his face showing a huge smile as he raised a bottle of alcoholic drink into the air. And finally, beside him, there were three katanas leaning against the ship's railing.
And aside from the background scenery, with the open sea and a few seagulls, we finally arrive at the last character on the cover, the man who will become the King of the Pirates, though Melvin doesn't know that yet. The boy in the middle was in the air, with one arm stretched upward in celebration; his attire consisted of sandals, blue shorts, a red vest, and on his head, there was a straw hat that he held with his other hand. He had a scar just below his left eye, and just like the swordsman beside him, a gigantic smile was stamped across his face.
