It had been over a month since the Michael Peterson incident ended, and since Skye officially joined Coulson's team.
During that month, Kai spent most of his time slacking off at work — going on easy missions and occasionally "playing the role" of Kizaru.
Finally, his Kizaru template had risen from 40% to 43%!
During this time, Alice from Hydra had asked him out several times.
The Hydra heiress Catherine also managed to "accidentally" run into him twice.
According to Natasha, next time they met, Catherine would probably start openly chasing him.
So, same old routine — slacking off after work, brewing tea, reading the newspaper.
Unfortunately, all of Tony's gossip had suddenly disappeared from the tabloids.
Kai was sure Pepper had done that.
As Tony's girlfriend, she clearly didn't want to see him making headlines every other day.
That made things… a little less entertaining.

"Morning, Kai."
Coulson stepped into the office, sat down opposite Kai, and poured himself a cup of tea like he owned the place.
"Do you remember Dr. Erik Selvig?"
Kai lowered the newspaper. "The guy Loki mind-controlled during the Battle of New York — the astrophysicist who worked with Jane Foster, right?"
"Exactly."
Coulson tapped a button, projecting a holographic video in the air.
On the screen, Dr. Selvig was seen running naked through Stonehenge, waving a detector and shouting incoherently.
Kai slid his chair back a little.
Honestly, watching a man in his sixties streak through an ancient monument was… not good for his mental health.
"Yikes," Kai muttered.
Coulson sighed. "No one knows what's going on with him, but he's clearly under some kind of mental stress. I want you and Melinda to go to London, bail him out of the police station, and figure out what happened."
Kai sighed. "Man… what a pain."
Coulson just smiled — he was used to Kai's constant grumbling. "By the way, Jane Foster is also in London. Maybe she knows something.
And rumor has it she and Thor broke up — sometime after the Battle of New York when Thor took Loki back to Asgard."
He leaned in conspiratorially. "She's been on seven blind dates since then. None of them worked out."
Kai waved him off. "Got it."
He finished his tea, and once Melinda was ready, they headed for London.
Ten minutes later — inside the Quinjet.
"I kinda miss the Black-Wing Airbus. At least that one had my personal seat."
Kai stretched out in the co-pilot's seat.
Melinda chuckled as she piloted the jet, handing him the file on Dr. Selvig.
"This is just a simple trip. No need to use the Black Wing. But fine — I'll tell logistics to install a comfy seat next time."
Kai shrugged. "Forget it. When I work solo, I'm a thousand times faster than this refueling tin can anyway."
Melinda just smiled and set their course for London.
At the London Police Station.
While Melinda handled the bail paperwork, Kai sat across from Dr. Selvig.
"Doctor, what happened? I saw the footage. You said—"
"I'm fine, Kai!" Selvig interrupted urgently.
"But you need to find Jane — and Daisy! I'm worried they're in danger."
"Then tell me where they are," Kai said calmly.
Selvig leaned forward, his expression grave.
"There's something wrong with the cosmic alignment. We detected wave patterns similar to what we saw in New Mexico."
He opened a backpack just returned by the police.
"Here — take this."
He handed Kai a small wave detector.
"When they locked me up, Jane and Daisy went to investigate a factory. The detector will guide you there."
"Please, Kai — find them and keep them safe!"
Kai nodded slightly, glancing at the flickering radar display. "Got it."
He turned to Melinda. "Mei, I'll leave Dr. Selvig to you."
"No problem," she replied, placing a form in front of the doctor. "Dr. Selvig, just sign here for your release."
The doctor picked up a pen and signed his name.
When he looked up again — Kai was gone.
Suburbs of London.
An abandoned factory complex sat silent and eerie.
Rusted tanker trucks lay toppled over, and massive shipping containers were stacked at odd angles, like a chaotic game of dominoes.
Kai checked the detector — the readings were spiking off the charts.
This was the place.
According to the movie he remembered from his previous life, this was where the Aether particles — the Reality Stone — first appeared.
He grinned slightly. "So, it's finally this chapter…"
And with that, his body turned into golden light particles and vanished.
Inside the Factory.
Daisy and a few interns were laughing with some local kids, dropping metal objects down a stairwell.
Every item they dropped would fall… spin in midair… disappear… then reappear above their heads!
They screamed and cheered at the bizarre zero-gravity loop.
Daisy was mid-laugh when a calm voice spoke behind her —
"Having fun?"
She froze.
Her head whipped around to see Kai standing there, hands in his pockets, the faint glow of golden light still fading from his shoulders.
Daisy blinked. "Oh, come on! You scared me half to death!"
Kai smirked. "Good. That means you're still alive."
