Chapter 159 - Chapter 158: Ninja Version of Hide-and-Seek Game

"Don't ever call me your sister again!"

Temari glared at Kankuro, who was walking over with a depressed look.

Come to think of it, he had only wanted to show off, but who knew he would lose so inexplicably?

Not even giving him a chance to attack was completely unsportsmanlike.

Unfortunately, no one cared how Kankuro lost.

Even Gaara muttered angrily, "What a disgrace to the village!"

Kankuro opened his mouth to retort, but he didn't dare confront either Gaara or Temari.

Helpless, he could only turn his head toward the competition field and act like an ostrich.

"It's all that damn Itsuki's fault!" Kankuro muttered under his breath, feeling infinite resentment toward Itsuki.

"I originally wanted to make some good friends and help him get offline, but now… whatever I want!"

"What did you say?" Temari overheard him and immediately raised her eyebrows.

She grabbed Kankuro's ear and scolded, "If it weren't for Itsuki, you'd still be lying there! You don't even know how to be grateful."

"Hey, hey, hey!" Kankuro grimaced in pain.

"You haven't even gotten married yet, and you're already twisting my ear? Even if you marry him, I'll still be his brother-in-law. What's wrong with scolding him a few times?"

"You're talking nonsense! Are you looking for trouble?" Temari's face turned red. In anger and humiliation, she opened her iron fan and fanned him.

Kankuro didn't expect Temari to act so recklessly in such a place. He was completely unprepared—and was blown away instantly.

Boom!

He crashed through most of the stands and embedded himself into the wall behind him.

The huge noise startled the two ninjas who had just entered the arena to prepare for their fight.

Their fighting spirit was halved in an instant.

The other spectators turned to look, gossiping and amused.

Internal strife? That's definitely more entertaining than the actual competition!

Temari realized what she had done, snorted, and tried to pretend nothing happened.

"Hey, people from the Sand Village, please be careful not to disrupt the competition!" Examiner Hayate reminded helplessly.

Baki, the team leader, quickly apologized and promised it wouldn't happen again.

The audience, deprived of gossip to watch, looked disappointed.

"Ah, what a headache! No one is even paying attention to our fight!" Shikamaru muttered, scratching his head. "Let's just finish this quickly."

Sakura, on the other side, was annoyed. Why? She was the last to appear, yet everyone seemed to be slacking off.

By the way, it was all Shikamaru's fault. His unmotivated demeanor was making people lose interest.

Sakura immediately wanted to use an illusion to teach him a lesson.

But she realized Shikamaru had already activated the Shadow Binding Technique, aiming to trap her.

Swish!

Sakura leapt back, cursing, "Asshole! You actually launched a sneak attack!"

"I've been discovered!" Shikamaru said calmly, sighing. "After all, this is the simplest way. If it works, the match will end quickly."

"Then why don't you just surrender voluntarily?" Sakura's face turned green with anger. This guy was shameless!

"Didn't I say it? I don't want to fight. I'm only doing this because I'm forced!" Shikamaru said helplessly, stretching his shadow toward her.

Sakura dodged several times, finally leaving the extreme range of his shadow. Furious, she threw several kunai with explosive tags.

"This is going to kill me!" Shikamaru yelled, scrambling out of the blast radius.

Sakura threw a few more shuriken, blocking his movement, while rushing toward him and forming hand seals.

Once the target enters the casting range, immediately cast an illusion.

Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique!

With a buzz, Shikamaru's frantic figure froze, his face full of fear.

This illusion forces a person to confront their deepest fears, making them feel as though it is real.

The greater the fear, the stronger the impact.

"So easy?" Sakura thought.

This was just a C-rank illusion. Kakashi had used this trick against her during the bell test.

But Shikamaru had grown. He had carried out many missions and was a high-IQ ninja. How could he fall for it so easily?

Sakura dared not approach directly and instead used a clone to rush him.

Ordinary clone techniques are illusions, meant to confuse the opponent.

When the clone raised a kunai to strike, Shikamaru's real body didn't move, but his eyes betrayed a slight fluctuation.

"You're pretending. You really think you can fool me so easily?"

Sakura sneered, taking out another kunai to throw from a distance.

"Tsk, She didn't fall for it!" Shikamaru cursed inwardly and turned to flee.

Thus began a ninja version of hide-and-seek.

Sakura was ready to use illusions to control him, while Shikamaru prepared to bind her with shadows.

Neither dared to get too close, and both kept their distance to avoid falling victim to the other.

"Let's finish this quickly!"

"Is this ninja work? Might as well play hide-and-seek with friends."

"Is that all you've got? You're just a Genin! Chunin Exams are beyond you!"

Some of the impatient audience groaned. The two's signature techniques were impressive, but their execution and physical skills were lacking.

With their level, the spectators felt superior to Sakura and her peers back in the academy.

"Assholes! Shut up!"

Naruto, furious at the insults to his goddess, shouted, "Sakura is way better than you!"

"What are you saying, little brat? Wanna fight?"

"Isn't this the blond guy who barely won by relying on a fart?"

"Haha, if this is hide-and-seek, we'd never win against her!"

Rain Village ninjas laughed wildly.

They had failed the second exam due to bad luck. Now seeing others perform poorly, they vented their frustration.

Naruto's face turned red with anger, and his neck thickened.

He rolled up his sleeves, ready to intervene, but Kakashi restrained him.

"Calm down, Naruto!" Kakashi said helplessly. "Sakura's still competing. Don't interfere. Besides, those people are from other villages. You can't fight them right now."

"Are we just going to let them laugh at Sakura like this?" Naruto huffed, ignoring Kakashi's words.

"There's really no way to explain this," Kakashi muttered, scratching his head.

These were just a bunch of brats showing off verbally. If a real fight broke out, he'd probably be terrified.

Boom!

Suddenly, several lightning flashes struck. The Rain ninjas, previously called Dehuan, had their hair electrocuted, green smoke rising from it.

Their faces blackened and emitted a burnt smell.

Everyone looked toward Itsuki, standing behind Yakumo with a smile.

At some point, a drawing board appeared in front of Yakumo, depicting the Rain ninjas facing them…
