The five opponents completed their spells and once again launched their magic toward the Wind-Riding Skyhawk.
Just when everyone thought the Wind-Riding Skyhawk was finished—
It vanished in a flash of light!
And in its place appeared none other than Song Jie!
Everyone's eyes widened in shock.
"Holy crap! What's going on!?"
While the crowd was still confused, Song Jie had already engaged the five attackers head-on.
"Radiance! Rapid Burst!"
Song Jie continuously unleashed Radiance. The elementary-level spells flying toward him shattered under the overwhelming brilliance.
In an instant, their attacks were completely destroyed.
"His magic energy has recovered!"
"Dodge!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bolts of Radiance rained down like divine punishment. The five scrambled to avoid the blasts, shielding their heads in panic as the explosive impacts sent them flying one after another.
When the surrounding students saw this, they knew—the Beast Battle Tournament was over.
Song Jie, alone, had taken on over two hundred and fifty people!
After dealing with his opponents, Song Jie slowly descended from midair.
The supervising teacher had originally been prepared to intervene, but seeing that Song Jie was unharmed, he decided not to step in.
"How did he not fall from that height?"
"Yeah, he'd be half-dead if he dropped from there!"
"And how did he switch places with his summoned beast like that?!"
The spectators were completely baffled by Song Jie's mysterious technique.
Not only the students—even Dean Xiao and the faculty were stunned.
"Director Jiang, do you know anything about this?" Dean Xiao asked.
Jiang Yunming could only give a wry smile and shake his head.
Dean Xiao glanced at Song Jie once more, then quietly left the auditorium.
Meanwhile, Song Jie approached the Wind-Riding Skyhawk, who was standing proudly on the arena floor.
At that moment, the Skyhawk suddenly let out a furious roar that echoed throughout the Azure Battle Arena.
The crowd froze in astonishment.
"What's wrong with that summoned beast?"
"Song Jie's too cruel!"
"He's forcing his beast to keep fighting! He doesn't deserve it!"
Everyone believed Song Jie had pushed the Skyhawk beyond its limits.
But then—
"Roar!!"
The Wind-Riding Skyhawk's body suddenly expanded, growing visibly larger before their eyes!
The entire crowd was left speechless—and then realization dawned on them.
"It broke through?!"
Shock spread through the arena. The Wind-Riding Skyhawk had been holding out not from defiance—but to seize the chance for a breakthrough!
Everyone's pity for the creature instantly turned to disbelief and embarrassment.
They had completely misunderstood.
With two advanced-stage Servant-level summoned beasts, plus that terrifying mutated Light Element, who in the entire Azure Campus could possibly stand against Song Jie?
"Brother Lei, Song Jie really did it!" Mu Nujiao said, clenching her fists before finally releasing them in relief.
Mu Lei could only sigh. It seemed his younger sister could no longer be restrained.
A short while later, Dean Xiao and the other faculty members walked onto the main stage.
When they appeared, all eyes turned toward them.
Dean Xiao stepped up to the microphone and began:
"This time, student Song Jie has created an unprecedented miracle for the Azure Campus of our Pearl Institute!"
He continued, his tone full of pride.
"Honestly, I didn't expect Song Jie to reach this point. But he truly did it—and as a teacher, I am proud of him!"
"In this Beast Battle Tournament, I also saw your resolve, your spirit at the end. I hope you will carry this determination forward throughout your journey as a mage."
Dean Xiao then looked directly at Song Jie.
"You must all be wondering—why is Song Jie's Light Element so powerful, so different from the one you know?"
The crowd buzzed in anticipation. They had all been wondering the same thing.
Was that dazzling power really from the Light Element? Many had even begun to doubt light itself.
"At first, even I was shocked," Dean Xiao said. "According to conventional knowledge, the Light Element only gains offensive capabilities at the Super Level."
He paused.
"But Song Jie's Light Element is different. The reason is simple—his Light Element has mutated!"
The word mutated instantly caused an uproar throughout the hall.
Everything suddenly made sense. The mystery that had plagued them was finally resolved.
"No wonder his Light magic has such offensive power in the early stages—it's a mutation!"
"Ordinary Light mages can't compare!"
"Then did his summoned beast mutate too?!"
The discussion grew noisy until Dean Xiao raised his hand.
"Quiet!"
The crowd instantly fell silent.
"Song Jie's ability to summon two contracted beasts is also related to this," Dean Xiao continued.
"In other words, Song Jie doesn't just have a single mutation—he possesses mutant talent itself!"
Gasps filled the room. Another wave of shock swept through the audience.
Song Jie secretly approved of the explanation—it allowed him to continue using his power openly without raising further suspicion.
Dean Xiao went on:
"As for the rewards from before, they were already agreed upon by the department heads and Song Jie himself."
"I know some of you might be unconvinced, but this is the truth."
He then turned to Professor Deng.
Expression solemn, Professor Deng stepped forward and spoke into the microphone.
"Student Song Jie, I was narrow-minded before. I was wrong. I apologize to you."
Professor Deng bowed deeply toward Song Jie.
The audience was stunned—a department dean apologizing to a freshman!?
"I will also honor my previous bet," Professor Deng added. "I'll personally prepare a Psychic Magic Tool for you."
Song Jie remained silent, his expression unreadable. Deep down, he couldn't help but feel suspicious.
A dean apologizing so easily?
Were they plotting something again?
After a few more remarks, Dean Xiao officially announced the end of the Beast Battle Tournament.
Just as Song Jie turned to leave, Dean Xiao called out to him.
"Song Jie, please stay. We have something to discuss."
Song Jie glanced at the familiar faces of the other deans and immediately guessed what this was about.
Resources, most likely.
Sighing inwardly, he followed them to a conference room.
Once inside, one of the professors greeted him with a smile.
"Song Jie, we called you here to discuss the issue of resources."
"Oh? You're deciding when to give them to me? Then I'm truly grateful!" Song Jie said cheerfully.
Silence fell across the room.
All eyes turned to Dean Xiao again.
Dean Xiao cleared his throat.
"Ahem... Song Jie, what they actually want to discuss is the matter of resource distribution for the senior students."
One of the professors quickly added,
"There are tens of thousands of senior students in the Azure Campus. If we divert too many resources away from them... well, it could cause problems."
Song Jie just smiled.
