The spine on the top of his head slowly grew into a long vertical horn. The spikes on the back of his neck shortened, while the ones on either side of his head lengthened, following the line of his eyebrows.
His knees jutted out and also grew spikes.
His tail lengthened, and the four spikes at its tip extended outward.
More openings appeared on his armor. Five new holes were distributed along both sides of his neck and beneath his throat. The four chest openings enlarged, and small red protrusions appeared in the two upper ones.
The exposed armor of his abdomen and back changed from blue to red, brimming with wild energy, giving him an even more powerful appearance.
Mega Tyranitar!
The Mega Evolution was a success!
He did not disappoint Cain. After completely overcoming his inner conflict, his spirit grew stronger, and he was now able to control the power of his own body.
"ROOOOOAAAR!"
The symbol of Mega Evolution glowed briefly and then vanished.
Mega Tyranitar lifted his head and let out a thunderous roar into the sky.
The sand around him erupted completely, but immediately, under his control, it swirled in front of him and Cain, forming a small sand vortex.
Ever since evolving into Tyranitar, his ability to control energy had fully manifested.
As long as he could control the sandstorm, he could unleash terrifying damage anytime, anywhere.
And after Mega Evolution, Tyranitar's control over the sand and energy became even more dominant.
That small sand vortex gradually grew larger, and Tyranitar slowly walked into it.
As he entered, the storm intensified and expanded violently, but according to Cain's perception, every grain of sand remained under Tyranitar's control.
At that moment, he was the true Tyrant of the Sandstorm!
After enjoying the chaos for a while, Tyranitar finally felt satisfied.
He gathered a massive amount of sand and formed a huge sand sculpture.
The sculpture gradually took shape, becoming an arrogant Tyranitar—it was himself.
And in front of that figure stood another, slightly smaller one: a sculpture of Cain with a cold and imposing face.
Since the time he was a Larvitar, Cain had trained Larvitar alongside Aron to learn how to control energy. They practiced every day by making sculptures.
These things were no challenge to him.
Tyranitar, with an excited expression, approached Cain.
The Mega Evolution faded, and Tyranitar returned to his original form.
Even so, after mega evolving, his size had become considerably larger. Compared to now, he looked like a fearsome prehistoric beast.
Although at this moment he already stood at 3.2 meters tall—enough to intimidate any Pokémon who faced him directly.
He had officially become the largest and heaviest Pokémon on Cain's team, surpassing even Aggron.
During the recent Mega Evolution, Cain had also scanned Tyranitar's data.
There weren't many differences compared to other Pokémon's Mega Evolutions: the power boost could be translated as a 5-level increase.
In his current state, Tyranitar was level 58. After mega evolving, he ascended straight to Elite level.
Even if it was only temporary, it allowed him to experience firsthand the power an Elite-level Pokémon should possess.
This would greatly help him in breaking through that threshold in the future.
Cain had other Pokémon capable of mega evolving who could also experience that energy ahead of time.
Still, this had been Tyranitar's first Mega Evolution, so there were many things he hadn't yet understood, learned, or fully mastered.
"How do you feel?" Cain asked with a smile.
"Tyran!" roared Tyranitar excitedly.
So... this was what Mega Evolution felt like!
Thud!
Thud!
Cain gave him a couple of encouraging pats on the gray plate of his abdomen.
"From now on, you're the big guy of the group. You'll have to do well and not disappoint your teammates," Cain said with satisfaction.
Like a father watching his son finally surpass him in height, he couldn't help but feel proud.
Tyranitar nodded repeatedly and scratched his head with his sturdy arm, showing a slightly clumsy side.
Probably no one would expect such a fierce Tyranitar to have such a good-natured side.
"Huh?" But when he touched his abdomen, Cain noticed something different.
Previously, when he tapped Tyranitar's legs and arms, the armor felt smooth and firm.
However, in the abdomen, that gray area felt a little rougher.
Not all of it—just a small section.
To the touch, it felt more like a line.
Cain slid his fingers along that rough line on Tyranitar's abdomen.
Tyranitar lowered his head and looked curiously, not understanding what Cain was doing.
Other than feeling a little ticklish, he didn't sense anything special.
But Cain's expression began to change as he traced that line.
That pattern... seemed to form a symbol.
A large curve in the center, with other curves on the sides.
He placed both hands on the figure.
As if trying to confirm his suspicion.
When he noticed that the design was perfectly symmetrical, Cain's expression turned complex.
Because the pattern on Tyranitar's abdomen was the "Ω" symbol he knew so well.
"Tyran...?" Tyranitar let out a questioning sound.
Cain slowly shook his head without saying anything.
Then he pointed toward an empty area not far away: "Tyranitar, use Precipice Blades."
Although he didn't understand what Cain wanted to do, Tyranitar obeyed without hesitation.
"Tyran!"
With a roar, Ground-type energy rapidly gathered in his body.
He focused his attention on the terrain in the distance, while Cain fixed his gaze on Tyranitar's abdomen.
At the moment the Precipice Blades attack was launched, red and yellow lines began to emerge on his blue belly.
At the same time, the "Ω" symbol Cain had touched earlier lit up brightly.
A radiant red and yellow "Ω" appeared clearly.
And in that moment...
BOOM!
In the distance, an explosion erupted from the ground.
A stone pillar, sharp as a spear, shot upward from the earth with speed.
Its tip glowed with a distinct red light, making the whole pillar appear even harder and sharper.
Compared to when he was a Pupitar, the current Precipice Blades attack was larger and thicker.
If before it only resembled the move in form, now it also resembled it in essence.
According to the system's analysis, when he was a Pupitar, the Precipice Blades move barely reached 10% of its true potential.
But now, it had already reached 30%.
A threefold leap!
You could really feel the power of Groudon's signature move—that attack which dominated across eras.
Now... the Precipice Blades move was finally starting to resemble the real thing.
And yet, even after finishing the attack, the symbol on his abdomen didn't disappear.
"System, analyze Tyranitar's current situation immediately."
