After hearing Cain's plan, Juan had to admit that the probability of success was quite high.
If Kyogre and Groudon were to fight in the sea, no matter how colossal the unleashed forces became, the League could still endure the aftermath.
Moreover, there was the possibility that the sky dragon, Rayquaza, might actually descend. If that happened, the crisis would be completely resolved.
And even if Rayquaza didn't appear, allowing Kyogre and Groudon to fight until both were weakened would greatly increase the League's chances of intervening afterward.
"Good!" Juan replied firmly. "You two keep holding Kyogre back. When everything is ready, I'll contact you."
For him, trying to capture Groudon was far too risky; letting it fight Kyogre instead offered a much more reasonable opportunity.
That would also buy the Hoenn League time to request reinforcements from other regions, taking advantage of that window before the final confrontation.
Immediately, Juan began assigning tasks one by one, and the massive machinery that was the Hoenn League began turning at full speed.
On the unknown island, Cain also communicated the plan to Drake.
The veteran Dragon-type Elite Four didn't hesitate for even a second. He said there was no problem, that he would keep resisting, and that he was ready for whatever came next.
However, he could clearly feel how Kyogre's power continued to increase. If the League took too long, both of them would be in danger.
While the League's divisions moved quickly, the media also began to act.
The event was extremely dangerous, with the potential to destroy the entire Hoenn region, but for professional journalists, that was precisely what drove them forward.
Informing the people, warning them of what was to come... that too was their responsibility.
The people of Hoenn had no power to decide, but they did have the right to know the truth.
Among those reporters was Gabby, journalist for Hoenn Regional Television. With that conviction, she and her team boarded a helicopter without hesitation, heading toward the raging sea.
"Good afternoon to all our viewers! This is reporter Gabby, alongside our professional cameraman Ty and the news team. We are now heading toward the waters of Hoenn to bring you information that no one else has yet reported," she announced with determined voice.
The sky was shrouded in black clouds. Thunder roared without cease, and rain poured down as though the very ocean were falling from the heavens.
"Many of you already know that within Hoenn, the legendary Groudon has awakened, and that the League is currently battling it," Gabby continued.
"But according to information from our field agents, another equally terrifying battle is taking place elsewhere across the ocean. We'll be bringing you the latest and most exclusive footage."
"Please keep your TV signal steady! To record this news, our entire team is putting their lives on the line."
Though Gabby tried to maintain composure, she didn't forget how to captivate the audience—and she succeeded. Thousands of viewers, both on television and online, began following the live broadcast.
In just minutes, the news spread throughout the Hoenn region, and even neighboring regions began tuning in, eager to see what event could rival the awakening of Groudon.
Inside the helicopter, Gabby heard the voice of the channel's director through her earpiece, informing her that ratings were skyrocketing to historic levels.
Knowing that gave her renewed courage and strength. In one motion, she opened the side door of the helicopter to continue her broadcast as the cameraman focused on her.
"As many of you know, Groudon has awakened! But its counterpart, Kyogre, has also emerged elsewhere across the ocean. At this very moment, two heroes are facing that ancient beast to protect the peace of Hoenn."
"They fight for all of us!"
"We cannot allow these heroes to sacrifice themselves in silence. Let us witness together the magnitude of this legendary battle...!"
"Ah! Watch out! Watch out for that wave!"
The helicopter shook violently. The camera trembled, and the audience heard screams before seeing on screen a gigantic wave, over twenty meters high, rising before them.
The helicopter was nearly swallowed by the torrent.
A few seconds later, Gabby reappeared on camera—her face pale, but determined: "A thousand apologies, what we just experienced was one of the shockwaves caused by the battle against Kyogre! This shows how brutal this fight truly is!"
"Those watching from home can't even imagine it. We're going to get a little closer!"
In the distance, amid the sea, rose a gigantic blue figure thrashing the waves—Kyogre, the legendary god of the Sea.
"And there, fighting in the air, is the Elite Four's Drake!" the reporter continued. "And on that small island, maintaining his composure amidst all this chaos—the newest member of our region's Elite Four: Cain, the Elite Four of the Sandstorm!"
The cameraman captured two perfect shots—one of Drake flying atop his Salamence, and another of Cain commanding his Pokémon from land.
The work was flawless.
"Even the residual waves are enough to keep us from getting closer!" Gabby shouted. "Imagine what Mr. Drake and Mr. Cain are facing right now! With such strong and determined leaders, I truly believe the Hoenn League will prevail...!"
"Ah! Watch out, watch out!"
A massive column of water rose from the sea, striking the helicopter and sending it spiraling downward.
The team screamed, control was lost, and the aircraft plunged rapidly toward the ocean...
But just before hitting the water, something stopped them.
The helicopter was suspended in midair, surrounded by an invisible force.
Outside, before the windshield, appeared Cain, levitating with the help of his Slowking—both of them glowing with psychic light.
The duo had intervened at the last moment to save them.
"It's Mr. Cain! Cain and his Slowking have saved us from Kyogre's attack!" Gabby exclaimed, trembling but not forgetting to keep narrating.
The cameraman, showing his professionalism, focused a close-up shot on Cain—his cape drenched, his expression stern under the rain.
Cain frowned, looked inside the helicopter to make sure they were safe, then spoke firmly: "It's too dangerous here! Get away immediately!"
With a motion of his hand, his psychic power pushed the helicopter's blades, stabilizing it in the air.
The aircraft regained altitude.
And just after that, Cain and his Slowking propelled themselves forward, returning to the battlefield against Kyogre—amid the roar of waves and thunder.
