After hours pass and as the screams and shouts of soldiers slowly begin to die down, Godwine stays sitting next to the table Celina lays on. He looks out a window watching as the soldiers begin to stop searching the city instead sitting around creating groups of soldiers who all begin to converse with one another whilst they await their new orders.
"Finally," Godwine mutters to himself before turning to look at Celina. Slowly Celina's eyes open as she starts to look around confused.
"Godwine? Where are we? Why are you here?" slowly she sits up setting her hand on her head groaning slightly.
Godwine smiles as he looks at Celina. "Well I don't know what all happened but when I found you Chiasa had control. This is simply where she went to hide the secret of your deal. Other than that I have no clue what happened to you."
"The last thing I remember was I found another person who presumably had a deal with a tail demon as well who forced Chiasa out. That's odd she protected me," Celina looks out the window as she stretches. "I take it, we've taken Neer."
Godwine nods as he stands next to Celina. "We should search for Tasha. I lost her in the chaos of battle," Godwine turns to leave Celina following closely. When the two of them exit the building corpses surround both friendly and enemies. The white and red colors of Osmon with the varying crests of each noble family and the green and yellow colors of Folga. "Let's head to the citadel."
As they walk soldiers carry the bodies of the dead carrying them out of the city to bury. "Shouldn't we just burn our enemies bodies, this is such a waste of time," two soldiers argue as one carries a soldier with a green and yellow rat crest.
"They were fighting to defend their people and their right to live. They died an honorable death and are still human just as we are; they deserve to be buried with honor just as we do," the soldier shakes his head as he carries the corpse.
Godwine walks past the commotion as the soldier continues to argue as he picks up a friendly corpse. Celina can't help but look back as they argue. When Celina is unable to hear them she finally turns back around as her and Godwine continue to walk towards the citadel.
"Where are your other mercs?" Mihel walks with Tasha as the civilians and the merchants who were unable to flee the town watch them fearfully. "It is rare to see a merc not be next to their kin."
"I just lost them during the battle that is all," Tasha says trying to avoid the conversation.
"You do not act like any merc I've seen. At least not a merc that is still alive," Tasha's head snaps to look at Mihel, surprised by his words. "You don't have the fighting or killing intent that most mercs have," Mihel side eyes Tasha as they continue to walk. "So tell me, is this really what you intend to do with your life now?" Tasha stays quiet looking away from Mihel. Eventually they reach a podium which Mihel gets behind turning to face the large group of citizens and the few merchants. "All citizens of Neer. My men are currently burying the dead. I understand that many of you will be unhappy that someone such as myself has taken your city. But I am here to assure you that we will not remain in control once this war is finished. Yes your lord is dead and I am sorry it came to that but it was what I had to do. Once the war is over you all shall be under the ruling of Folga once more. However until then I ask that you all allow us peaceful passage so none more may die here."
The citizens whisper to each other as Mihel looks over the citizens as they talk. Mihel walks down Tasha following him as they walk back to where they came from.
"So basically there was another tail demon with a deal that was able to force Chiasa out of you," Godwine questions Celina as they walk towards the citadel.
Celina walks besides Godwine. "Yeah and it was a six tail demon. Perhaps higher ranked demons are able to just do that. I honestly don't know how it happened," Celina's voice is filled with confusion as they approach the broken gates of the citadel. As they enter the citadel Mihel and Tasha stand conversing when Tasha glances over and sees Godwine quickly running over to the two of them.
"Where'd you two go?" Tasha questions as looks at the two of them for injuries noticing the cuts over her body. "Oh my god Celina come here king Mihel knows healing magic," when Tasha turns around grabbing Celina's arm Mihel is gone leaving just the three of them on their own. "Where'd he go?"
Mihel looks out at the sea from the highest point of the citadel taking in the waves until he spots the capital of Folga nestled against the blue waters. "Are you still leading from the Ceq banquets?" Mihel talks to himself as he stares at the city for a bit longer until he looks out at the sea. He brings his fingers to his chin thinking. "How far down is the abyss I wonder."
