Agnes walks next to Celina wearing more noble clothes now. Celina's face is filled with embarrassment as Tasha is scolding Elias. Katelyn walks next to Godwine as the two talk about demons.
"So demons come from this abyss and use peoples' need to live to gain things?" Katelyn's face is filled with curiosity. Godwine simply nods, not looking at Katelyn. "Interesting."
"If you wanna complain about the damn food then how about you try to cook some," Tasha smacks Elias in the back of the head.
"I haven't said anything since the fair," Elias has his hands covering his head as they walk. "I'll help you cook next time, ok?"
"You know Celina you seem to have a natural gift for dancing," Agnes holds her hands behind her back as the sound of Elias and Tasha still arguing fills the background. "Your fighting style translates well to dance."
"I'm still nothing compared to you even if I have a natural gift," Celina laughs as she looks at Elias and Tasha arguing. "No matter how much of a natural gift I have I doubt I'll be able to get really good at it."
"Agnes, which way from here?" Godwine stops walking at a fork in the road turning to look at Agnes.
"Tayan will be down that path, follow the river upwards and we will reach it," Agnes points down the right trail and Godwine nods, walking down it without hesitation.
"Maybe next time I just won't give you any food, how about that?" Tasha continues to bash Elias. "If you wanna complain I just won't give you what you don't want."
"Come on Tasha I haven't been trying to argue since we left," Elias continues to walk, visibly annoyed.
Eventually they reach Tayan the sound of carriages rolling throughout fills the streets as ships can be heard preparing to leave down the river. A group of citizens notices Agnes and walks over shaking her hand. They continue to walk through the city Tasha finally stops bashing at Elias now that they have arrived. Agnes leads the rest of them deeper into town eventually reaching the town square. They see a building larger than the others with guards posted in front of it.
The guards see Agnes and they quickly straighten up. "Lady Agnes, what are you doing in Tayan?"
"We are here to assist the lord of the town with the rebels," Agnes bows her head before looking at the two guards.
"Rebels?" one of the guards speaks out of confusion. "There are no rebels within Rer," Celina, off put by their response, begins to glance around the town square.
"Yeah there is no rebellion forming within Rer and especially not Tayan," the other guard speaks up as Celina notices the emblem she saw throughout the alleyway and tunnels.
"Well we have reason to believe that there is one forming and they are using tunnels underneath our cities to move between them with ease," Agnes talks with confidence as Celina walks up beside her.
"Well that is interesting we will notify our lord first chance we get," one of the guards taps his lance twice on the ground as he speaks.
As the door opens the rebel wielding the guandao walks out his eyes go wide as he sees Agnes and Celina. He claps his hands together, and armed men and women emerge from different alleys surrounding them. The rebel smiles as Godwine draws his sword and grabs his shield. Katelyn quickly jumps up onto a roof grabbing her bow holding onto an arrow. Elias and Tasha take a stance together as if they were never arguing Elias in front of Tasha. Celina steps in front of Agnes, her face serious ready to fight. Agnes's face fills with anger as she reaches for her swords.
"You bastards. Tell me did you convince the lord to stand against the queen or is he dead," Agnes's voice is filled with rage as she looks at the rebels who surround them.
"Did you forget that it was Tayan's lord who opposed passing the law to increase taxes against the workers?" The rebel holding the guandao laughs as he steps past the guards. "Did you think he was just going to sit back and watch his people struggle? It took very little convincing to get him to join our side."
"Those taxes were put in place due to our fear of war," Agnes shouts as she looks around. "He read that we would retract the tax increase once we were no longer at risk of war," Agnes reaches for her weapons.
"His people were struggling and helped him while all of you ignored his pleas for assistance and let his people starve," the rebel leader continues to argue as more rebels emerge from alleys.
"The queen entrusts that each of her vassals are able to handle themselves! Why are you lashing out at the queen and the council when it is his count that should be blamed?" Agnes continues to shout, causing Celina to look over her shoulder.
The rebel leader growls, swinging his guandao towards Celina's neck. "The lord of this town asked for help from the queen and she didn't help!" Right as the sharpened blade of the guandao is about to slice Celina's neck Agnes pushes Celina out of the way blocking the attack. Quickly he retracts his weapon, holding it tightly pointing it at Agnes. Katelyn quickly fires two arrows in rapid succession sliding through the guards visors impaling their necks. As the two fall, chaos breaks out.
Rebels shout and cry as they witness those they have lived with get killed. Elias easily blocks attacks with his shield as he slashes through a group of rebels. Tasha shakes remembering the Osmon war as rebels run towards her. She desperately attempts to calm herself as she sends vines towards the rebels. Vines wrap around rebels legs and arms holding them still. Godwine bashes his shield into the stomach of a rebel headbutting him as he recoils and gasps from the impact. The rebel leader brings his guandao down towards Agnes who catches the blade between her swords. As Agnes shoves the blade to the side Celina pushes the rebel's guandao out of his hand with her wind magic. Tasha sends a wave of vines at a group of rebels holding them against the side of a building. Elias parries an attack with his sword sending his enemy stumbling back. As the rebel tries to regain his footing Elias chucks his shield into the rebels mouth piercing through his face. As blood flies across the battlefield splattering onto buildings covering the ground and getting onto rebels.
"This is all for the betterment of Rer!" The rebel leader picks a lance off the corpse of a rebel blocking an attack from Celina on his left but receives a harsh kick to the right of his stomach from Agnes. As the two of them continue to gang up on the leader he eventually starts to better defend himself twirling the lance deflecting more attack yet still getting cut kicked and the occasional punch. The leader continues to step backwards as he continues to desperately try to defend himself. A rebel climbs onto the roof that Katelyn stands on as she fires arrow after arrow. Silently the rebel is able to approach Katelyn till they're directly behind her. As the rebel swings their blade Katelyn smiles as she jumps pulling an arrow back as she flies backwards over the rebel. As she releases the arrow the rebel looks up right as the arrow enters their skull. After Katelyn sticks her landing she quickly pushes the body off the roof returning to firing arrows at the rebels fighting in the town square. Godwine ducks a swing feeling a gust of wind go past before he ramming his shoulder into the rebel knocking him to his back. Seconds later an arrow pierces the rebels skull with enough force it pierces the ground as well.
Agnes dances around the leader as Celina clashes with him jumping back as Agnes moves in forcing him to block Agnes's attacks. "You fight like an animal defending its youth," Agnes smirks as she twirls around delivering a harsh kick directly into the leader's gut. "Defense can only protect you for so long though."
Elias kicks a rebel as Tasha pierces another's stomach with her vines. "Keep it up Tasha! They're slowing down," Elias shouts as he cuts through several rebels noticing that they have stopped coming from the alleyway.
Katelyn turns around as several rebels have climbed to the roof, all of them shaking as they hold their swords, axes or pitchforks looking at Katelyn. Katelyn pushes a strand of hair back as she holds a fist out giving them a thumbs down. As she steps towards them one flinches as others change stances out of fear. As she takes another step one of the rebels runs at her. As they swing their axe at Katelyn she ducks the blow. As the rebel tries to recover from the miss Katelyn grabs the grip of the axe and locks eyes with the rebel. "Nice try cutie," Katelyn rips the axe from the rebels hands spinning it before embedding it into their skull. Two rebels run towards her, swinging their weapons recklessly. Katelyn backsteps one attack jumping over another. As the two swing at Katelyn a third holding a pitchfork attempts to stab her. Katelyn grabs an arrow from her quiver ramming it into one of the rebels' sides. As the rebel recoils in pain the pitchfork barely misses Katelyn. Katelyn kicks at the pitchforks handle causing the rebel to lose their grip. With a spin Katelyn uses her bow like a sword whacking a rebel with it. As the rebel flies off the roof she hops back pulling an arrow back and firing it into the third rebel. As the rebel's corpse rolls off the roof the remaining rebels quickly turn tail and run.
The leader groans in pain as Celina rams the hilt of her sword in his face. As he looks around he sees the town square riddled with corpses. "God damnit," he curses under his breath as he continues to defend himself from Agnes and Celina. "Retreat! Take the boats to Rillu!" the leader shouts as his defense is broken. Agnes delivers a cut to his side causing him to stumble backwards. "Inform the leaders that we've been found!" as he continues to shout Celina quickly zooms into his face impaling his chest. In his last moments he attempts to grab a spear and impale Celina but to no avail his strength is gone.
