Chapter 106 - Chapter 105 Bribing the President

But it quickly turned into determination; trading a country for this was too cheap.

"Mr. Richard, please take back…"

Before Matthew could finish speaking, Richard continued, "I almost forgot, with this card, you can become a Level 1 member of the Demon Group and receive a severed limb regeneration potion annually.

And you get a discount on the longevity medicine that Dr. Banner is currently developing."

This time, Matthew fell silent. Longevity – no middle-aged man could resist such a temptation.

Even his wife, Ella, was no longer so firm, her eyes revealing desire and wavering.

The Demon Group's miraculous potions had already been proven; no one doubted Richard was exaggerating.

"Oh, Mr. President, do you need the Demon Group's bodyguard services?" Richard asked.

"Mr. Richard, I have bodyguards."

Matthew temporarily put aside those temptations, trying to keep himself clear-headed.

"No, I'm not talking about ordinary bodyguards, but superhuman bodyguards."

"Superhuman bodyguards?"

"Come out!" Seeing that he had piqued Matthew's curiosity, Richard clapped his hands.

The Shadow beneath his feet rippled slightly, and a man in ninja attire emerged from it.

Matthew and Ella's eyes widened in shock at this sudden scene, their faces full of disbelief.

The person who emerged from the Shadow.

"Allow me to introduce, the Shadow Bodyguard, a unique benefit for internal members of the Demon Group. You only need to pay ten million annually.

They provide 24-hour uninterrupted protection and possess powerful combat capabilities. If they can't defeat an enemy, they can also take the employer away through the Shadow.

Of course, if the employer feels their privacy is invaded, they can cancel the service." Richard introduced unhurriedly.

Matthew was silent. A series of temptations had struck, with money being the least valuable among them, but he was the President of this country; he couldn't betray his country.

"It's not treason. I can sign a contract with you; I won't use Mutants to seize this country."

Matthew suddenly looked up, mind-reading.

Looking at Richard's kind appearance, he smiled bitterly in his heart. His nickname wasn't wrong: the Demon King who tempts hearts!

"Mr. President, if I'm not mistaken, your term is still two years, right? If you can help me with a small favor, I can support you in becoming the President of this country."

Richard's words echoed in Matthew's ears like the whisper of a demon.

This sentence became the last straw that broke Matthew's resolve. Yes, he could persevere, but the next President might not, and with so many good things, why should he give them to others?

"Of course, I am willing to help Mr. Richard with a small favor. Although I did not order the imprisonment of Mutants, it must be someone below who acted improperly."

Matthew said with a beaming smile.

"I promise you, you will become the greatest President of this country."

Richard said with a smile, his eyes revealing an irresistible sincerity.

After Matthew signed the contract, he relaxed completely. Since the matter was irreversible, it was better to accept it calmly.

He let out a long sigh of relief. Perhaps this was also an opportunity, an opportunity for him to truly make a difference.

Richard was also very satisfied with this transaction.

Although it seemed like a lot was given, in reality, only 30 million was real money, and everything else was his own stuff.

Trading these for a country's President was incredibly cost-effective.

His wife, Ella, also breathed a sigh of relief when the matter concluded and began chatting casually with the Demon King.

After Matthew picked up the card, the Shadow Bodyguard also walked into the Shadow beneath him and disappeared.

Matthew squatted down and curiously touched it, only feeling the cold floor. It was truly amazing. He carefully tucked the card close to his body.

Seeing Richard and his wife chatting happily, Matthew also joined in, mainly asking about the effects of the resurrection potion and the progress of the anti-aging potion.

Just as Richard was about to bid farewell, he suddenly looked out the window.

In the night sky, a robot crashed through the glass and burst in.

"Richard, calm down, the President cannot… move…" The robot's faceplate opened, revealing Tony Stark.

Tony stared blankly at the scene. He had rushed over immediately after receiving the President's call.

He had expected to arrive to a scene of blood and corpses, or for the Demon Group to surround the entire estate, but what was this situation of them sitting on the sofa chatting?

Tony's brain crashed for a moment. His intelligent eyes were now filled with confusion and bewilderment; he couldn't understand the situation before him at all.

Richard looked at Tony, a slight smile on his face. "Tony, you came really fast, but it seems you've misunderstood something."

Tony recovered from his shock. He looked at Richard, then at Matthew and Ella, his face full of doubt.

"What exactly is going on? I received an emergency call from the President and thought some major crisis had occurred."

Matthew gave an awkward laugh and said, "Mr. Stark, I'm sorry to have worried you. This was just a small misunderstanding.

Mr. Richard and I have just reached a cooperation agreement, and we were having a pleasant chat."

Tony frowned, looking at Richard. "Cooperation? What cooperation?"

Richard shrugged and said:

"It's nothing much, just some mutually beneficial things. The President is very wise; he is willing to make some efforts for the future of Mutants."

Tony knew Richard wasn't telling the truth, but seeing that the President was fine and there were no signs of a fight, the only damage was what he had caused.

"Alright! If nothing's wrong, I'm heading back. I was cuddling Pepper to sleep late at night, and then I got called out."

Tony said with a look of helplessness and complaint, then controlled his Iron Man suit, turned around, and prepared to leave.

"Then, Mr. President, I shall also take my leave." Richard smiled as he bid farewell to Matthew.

He and Tony disappeared into the night sky, one after the other.

Matthew and Ella watched the two leave, one after another, and let out a long sigh of relief.

Tony piloted his robot flying through the night sky, with Richard flying alongside him.

"Tony, what's going on with the armor you're wearing?"

Richard looked at Tony's brand-new armor, his eyes full of curiosity. It was entirely red with black veins.

He had never seen such a unique design. Compared to the flashy gold and red of before, this armor was much cooler.

"This is the Apollo Armor, made from materials found in hell. It has extremely high heat resistance and can perfectly unleash the power of the ring."

Tony didn't hide it, proudly introducing it. He had been busy making this for a while.

"So, it won't explode this time?"

"Hmm… it will still explode."

"Then what the hell are you talking about?" Richard couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"At least it can last 30 minutes. You know the energy in the ring is a miniature Sun, and this armor isn't even finished yet." Tony tried to salvage some dignity.

"Then you still wore this half-finished armor to stop me? What if we start fighting and it explodes halfway through? What then?

"Well, you're here, just like last time. Plus, I can collect combat data."

"Good heavens, you come over to fight me and still expect me to save you? Tony, you've got some nerve."

"Don't be so petty. This is called reasonable utilization of existing resources."
