Matt Murdock's figure stood silently on the broken window frame.
He didn't come in immediately, as if using his unique way to read the chaotic information in this office.
The wind poured in from behind him, stirring up broken glass and papers on the floor, making a rustling sound.
Bullseye, under Danny's foot, had a momentary disruption in his heartbeat.
It was a morbid excitement.
Daredevil had finally arrived.
Matt leaped down from the window frame.
He landed silently, his red suit appearing a dark, blood-like color in the moonlight.
He ignored Danny and walked directly towards the man lying on the ground, his chest pinned down.
"We had an agreement, Bullseye."
Matt's voice was flat, devoid of any emotion, yet it made the temperature of the entire room drop by several degrees.
Bullseye coughed up a mouthful of blood.
But a twisted smile spread across his face.
"Agreement?" He chuckled with effort, "The agreement is you catch me, I break out of jail. We've been playing this game for many years, haven't we?"
"The agreement is, no touching ordinary people."
A hint of pressure finally entered Matt's voice.
"Ordinary people?"
Bullseye laughed even harder, turning his head with effort to look at the desk that belonged to Matt Murdock.
"Lawyer Murdock... he's not ordinary at all. He hid you so well... wouldn't you say so, Daredevil?"
Matt stopped speaking.
He bent down.
Danny only felt a blur before his eyes; Matt's movements were too fast for his dynamic vision to catch.
A dull thud, the sound of bone and muscle colliding.
Bullseye's laughter stopped abruptly, his head lolled, and he completely passed out.
Clean, precise, efficient.
Matt slowly straightened up, as if he had only done a trivial thing.
He finally "looked" at Danny Rand.
A brief silence fell over the office, leaving only the steady breathing of Bullseye after being knocked unconscious.
"Danny."
Matt spoke, "Why are you here?"
"I... I came to find you."
Danny released his foot from Bullseye, feeling a bit parched, "There's an urgent matter."
He pointed to Bullseye on the ground.
"It seems I'm not the only one."
"He's suspected me for a long time."
Matt stated calmly, "He's been looking for an opportunity to confirm it."
He seemed completely unconcerned that his identity might have been exposed to this madman.
"What's your urgent matter?"
Danny took a deep breath, feeling that every word he was about to say weighed a thousand pounds.
"Kingpin."
He spoke with difficulty.
"He got something... something very troublesome. Something that could threaten all of New York."
He pulled out the black USB drive from his suit pocket and handed it over.
"I have an informant who gave me this."
Matt didn't take it.
He just tilted his head, as if "listening" to the information storm contained within that small USB drive.
"Informant?"
"An... insurance consultant." Danny found the title both absurd and fitting, "Well, it's William Rodriguez."
Matt fell silent.
"Is there a usable computer in your office?" Danny looked around at the mess.
Matt turned and walked towards the remains of his desk.
He crouched down, fumbling through a pile of broken wood and documents for a moment, then pulled out a laptop host whose casing was cracked but whose main body appeared relatively intact.
He pulled over a power cord and plugged it in.
The screen flickered a few times and then miraculously lit up, emitting a faint blue light that illuminated their grim faces.
Danny inserted the USB drive.
A window popped up on the screen, containing only a single, solitary folder.
The folder was professionally named: [Fisk_Asset_Transportation_Risk_Assessment_Report_W.R]
Danny controlled the mouse and clicked into it.
Instantly, several files appeared before them.
[Facility_3D_Blueprint.dwg]
[Security_Roster_Q3.xlsx]
[Independent_Power_Grid_Layout.pdf]
[Structural_Weakness_Analysis_W.R.txt]
[Asset_File_black sky.docx]
Danny's heart skipped a beat.
He first opened the blueprint file.
An extremely complex 3D model of a building appeared on the screen.
"Oh my God, Matt..."
Danny's voice was a bit dry.
"This is a research center on Long Island called 'Fisk Life Sciences'. On the surface, it's a high-end medical facility, but underground... he hollowed out the entire foundation and built a fortress."
He scrolled the mouse while describing the content on the screen to Matt.
"Independent power system, military-grade security, pressure sensors, signal jamming network... This place is even more exaggerated than a Department of Defense facility."
Matt listened quietly, not saying a word.
His brain was rapidly constructing the complete form of that fortress based on Danny's description and the subtle sounds and electromagnetic fluctuations in the surrounding environment.
Danny then opened the weakness analysis text file.
"William, he marked all the breakthroughs. There are three in total."
"Point A, the central air intake of the main ventilation system, the weakest defense, but there are poison gas and laser traps inside."
"Point B, the cooling pipes of the backup generator set, which can bypass most surveillance, but the exit leads directly to the most heavily guarded area."
"Point C..."
Danny's voice paused, "An abandoned sewage treatment tunnel, leading directly to the core laboratory. It's the most hidden, but also the most disgusting."
Matt remained silent.
This intelligence was priceless, enough for him to plan a perfect raid.
But he could feel that Danny's emotions were becoming increasingly off.
His heart was accelerating, and his breathing became rapid.
The most crucial thing had not yet appeared.
"That 'troublesome thing,' Danny."
Matt's voice was low, "What is it?"
Danny's finger hovered over the last file.
[Asset_File_black sky.docx]
He swallowed hard and clicked it.
The file loaded somewhat slowly, as if even the computer was dreading its contents.
The next second, the screen was filled with a huge photograph.
It was an overhead shot, filled with a cold, medical feel.
A woman, naked, lay on a metal operating table, her body covered in various colored tubes and faintly glowing electrodes.
Her body was pale, yet it exuded an ominous sense of power.
Danny's breathing instantly stopped.
He let out a short, choked gasp, as if his throat had been seized.
Matt's head snapped towards him.
Danny's sudden heart stoppage, the change in blood flow, the instantaneous stiffening of his muscles... all these physiological reactions, in Matt's sensory World, were nothing short of a blaring alarm.
"Danny?"
Danny couldn't speak.
He just stared intently at the face on the screen.
A face whose vague outline he had only pieced together from Matt's pained murmurs in the dead of night.
Matt's voice became very soft, very low, but carried a heartbreaking tremor.
"Who is it?"
Danny's lips trembled, and he finally found his voice, but it was broken beyond recognition.
"Matt... it's her..."
With a trembling hand, he scrolled the page down, revealing the cold personal information below the photo.
[Name: Elektra Natchios]
Danny looked at the line of text, and with all his strength, he read it out word by word.
"Elektra... Natchios."
The moment the name was uttered, the entire office fell into a deathly silence.
Matt Murdock stood rooted to the spot, motionless.
Then, he clutched his head and let out a repressed, Beast-like wail of extreme sorrow.
