(ANGELO'S POV)
I'm sleeping when suddenly, a phone starts ringing.
It's sharp, loud, and annoying.
The sound makes me flinch awake.
I'm disoriented at first, my brain still thick with exhaustion and for a few seconds I don't even know where I am. But after a moment, all the memories start rushing back.
I feel a weight against my shoulder.
It's Krystal.
She's leaning on me, her head resting on my shoulder, her hair brushing against my neck.
Her breathing is slow and peaceful.
For a moment, I just watch her. After everything that happened last night, the fact that she's sleeping at all feels like a miracle.
The phone keeps ringing.
I gently tap her arm. "Krystal."
She groans softly, shifting her weight. "Mm… what?"
"Wake up," I murmur.
Her eyes flutter halfway open.
"What's that noise?" she mumbles. "Make it stop."
Across from us, Sandra, Bruno, Michele, and Leo are all stirring, blinking themselves awake.
The ringing continues.
