"Squeak, squeak, squeak~"

"Hey, what are you doing~"

Cheese put her paws on her hips, proudly translating Snow's mouse language. There was a language barrier even between magical creatures, but the cat, raised by a hamster since childhood, understood it.

Noah rubbed the little snow cat's fluffy head, then said to Snow, "Snow, quickly spit out a Winter Snow Grass to save a life."

As a magical beast even stronger than the Beast King, Snow possessed more than just the heaven-defying growth ability of Life-Magic Interdependence.

Ordinary hamsters had a cheek pouch on each side of their mouths. After eating their fill, hamsters used these cheek pouches to store food, causing their cheeks to puff out.

As a fellow rodent, Snow naturally also had cheek pouches, but unlike ordinary hamsters, her cheek pouches contained a universe of their own, connected to two magical spaces.

As for how large they were, Noah didn't know; he couldn't exactly go inside and look.

Mount Hakobe's specialty, the rare magical herb Winter Snow Grass, wasn't actually rare in yield; it was just "eaten" by Snow as her main food.

To save someone, Noah asked Snow to spit out a Winter Snow Grass.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"

Rubbing her cheeks with her tiny paws, Snow immediately gave an answer, and Cheese's translation followed closely.

"Snow says yes, but it wants food in return."

Then Cheese rattled off a list of dishes: "One hundred pounds of melon seeds, one hundred pounds of peanuts, one hundred pounds of walnuts, one hundred pounds of corn, one hundred pounds of oats, one hundred pounds of potatoes, one hundred pounds of cucumbers... "

"Are you trying to stock a warehouse with me?!"

Noah immediately pressed the greedy hamster into a "mouse pancake" and kneaded her.

After he had his fun, Noah still agreed to Snow's request. Anyway, this hamster could eat, so it was just buying her some snacks.

Holding the Winter Snow Grass that Snow spat out, Noah found that the herb was surprisingly dry. He'd thought it would be covered in hamster saliva.

Snow: "Me, a little mouse, I'm clean too, you know."

Gray made an ice mortar and quickly crushed the Winter Snow Grass. Natsu then applied it to the bandage Lucy had prepared, wrapping it around the unconscious man.

Just as they finished applying the medicine, Mirajane returned.

Empty-handed, unable to catch the Priest named Dachiru, Mirajane's face clearly showed some displeasure. "That guy got away. He's no good at fighting, but he's pretty fast at running away. Black Magic Priests are nothing special; he wasn't even as tough as Elfman."

Noah deeply agreed with this. The puppeteer Black Priest he'd encountered at Blackbird Konzern had a unique trick of turning into threads to escape. If he hadn't created an information gap and stacked explosion marks all over the opponent beforehand, he might have really let him get away.

"Mira, you don't need to worry about it. The Black Magic Cult are just rats in a gutter; they don't have the guts to retaliate against the guild."

Fairy Tail had Makarov, an old Ten Wizard Saints, guarding it. Unless it was a Mage of the same caliber, no one would dare to cause trouble for Fairy Tail.

Of course, excluding those who came to demand compensation from the guild... Mirajane bit her lip lightly and puffed out her cheeks. After snatching Snow from Noah's hands and giving her a good petting, she finally noticed the man wrapped like a "mummy" in bandages.

"Who's this?"

"I don't know, but he wants us to pass on a message."

Noah repeated what had just happened to Mirajane.

Lahar? She seemed to have heard that name somewhere, but Mirajane thought about it and couldn't recall, so she let it go.

Mourning Lahar's obscure reputation for another second, Noah tore a blank page from Daphne's notebook.

He borrowed a pen from a town resident, wrote a letter, signed it with the name "Nexus," and then asked the town's postman to send it to the Magic Council's Custody Enforcement Unit.

After this, Noah and his group boarded the Magic Railway for their return journey.

As for the reward for the "defeating the evil scientist" job in Silent Town, Natsu didn't want to accept it because he was several years late, but the residents insisted on giving it.

Since it wasn't a wealthy town, the total reward was only 150,000 Jewels, but no one complained. Everyone had come to help Natsu in the first place.

Conveniently, five people divided it, thirty thousand each.

In the luxurious carriage of the Magic Railway, Lucy excitedly counted the banknotes over and over again.

Although a mere thirty thousand Jewels was nothing to the Heartfilia princess, this was the first time she'd received the full reward since teaming up with Natsu!

No destruction!

The full reward, not deducted for compensation!

To celebrate this day, Lucy, with her newfound wealth, treated her companions to the luxurious carriage. She knew that the price of one luxury ticket exceeded the reward Lucy had received.

Looking at the overjoyed heiress, Noah, Mirajane, and Gray all involuntarily sighed for her in their hearts.

They returned to the guild safely. Noah told Makarov about what happened in Silent Town. Natsu had forgotten the job due to the influence of Stealth Magic, so Makarov didn't punish him.

Not being lectured was the best reward. Natsu immediately happily went to brag to his companions about how he'd unleashed his power, combining Magic and Haki to punch and defeat the artificial Dragon.

Taking advantage of the lull, Noah followed Makarov's suggestion and arranged for the rescued man to stay in a hotel close to the guild. He believed that with Lahar's speed of action, someone would come to pick him up in no more than two days.

As for whether trouble would come knocking, in Makarov's words, "We Fairy Tail don't cause trouble, but we're not afraid of it either."

Noah didn't know how the little old man could say that without batting an eyelid...

Magic Council, Custody Enforcement Unit Building.

Lahar opened the simple envelope signed "Nexus."

After some thought, he called his friend Doranbalt and asked him to go to Magnolia to bring back their comrade, who was thought to have sacrificed himself.

At the same time, the new Councilor's Communication Lacrima also rang.

"Teacher, you actually initiated contact with me. Is something seriously wrong?" Jellal sat on a leather sofa by the French window, enjoying the warmth of the sun.

"Jellal, the rat handed over to the Black Magic Cult has been rescued. He knows that there are our people in the Council's high ranks, but he doesn't know that person is you."

Listening to the calm voice from the Lacrima, Siegrain's smile deepened. "What does it matter? He's just someone from the Custody Enforcement Unit. Of those old fogies, only two would listen to him."

"The one who rescued that rat is Fairy Tail. Makarov is a formidable presence, and his words carry enough weight."

The calm voice came again, and Siegrain's smile vanished.

Erza, I didn't expect to meet you so soon. Will you still remember me?

A cloud happened to drift across the sky, obscuring the sun.

A dark shadow enveloped the young man's entire body, like invisible chains binding him, but Jellal was completely unaware.
