Chapter 1 - I Belong to your World

🌸 Chapter 1 – Chaos in the Morning

The aroma of fried spices filled the kitchen as a woman stood near the stove, her brows furrowed in irritation.

"Today I'll teach her a lesson," she muttered angrily while stirring the pan. "Every single day she troubles me. Let's see how she escapes this time."

She placed the knife aside, grabbed a water jug, and filled it to the brim. Still mumbling under her breath, she marched toward the bedroom.

"I'm exhausted because of that girl… absolutely exhausted."

She pushed the door open and walked straight to the bed. Without hesitation, she poured the entire jug of water over the sleeping figure beneath the blanket.

Silence.

No scream. No movement.

Confused, she threw the empty jug aside and yanked the blanket away—

Pillows.

Just pillows neatly arranged to look like a sleeping body.

A soft giggle echoed from behind her.

The woman stiffened.

"I won't spare you today!" she snapped, turning around sharply.

Across the room, standing calmly in front of the mirror, was a petite girl—barely 5'2, but impossible to ignore. Sunlight slipped through the curtains and caught in her long black hair, making it shimmer like silk. Her fair skin glowed softly in the morning light, and her large expressive eyes sparkled with mischief as she watched her mother through the mirror.

She casually applied lip gloss, completely unbothered.

"Oh come on, Mom," she said dramatically. "Why do you always turn into Goddess Kali whenever you see me? Look how cute your daughter is."

She stood up and walked over, wrapping her arms around her mother in a tight hug.

The woman lightly pulled her ear. "So your spy informed you I was coming, hmm?"

Right on cue, another girl entered the room holding a tray with breakfast and tea.

"Mom, she's ready for college. And her class is late today anyway."

The mother gave the elder daughter a knowing look. "You came early again to defend your little sister, didn't you?"

The elder one smiled and kissed her mother's cheek. "She's still a child, Mom."

The younger girl made an exaggerated innocent face. "See? I'm just a baby."

The woman shook her head in mock irritation and walked out.

The moment she left, the younger girl jumped and hugged her sister.

"Thank you! You saved me again!"

The elder sister gently held her ear. "Oh really? And Miss Marry, isn't your test at 9 a.m.? Why are you still home?"

Marry's eyes widened. She looked at the clock and gasped.

"Oh no. I might die today… but first, let me eat something," she declared dramatically, rushing toward the dining table and stuffing food into her mouth.

Daisy smiled softly and placed a hand on her head. "Slow down, sweetheart."

"I love you, my sweet heart," Marry grinned.

Daisy laughed. "Save that 'I love you' for the guy who has stolen your sleep. You were dreaming about him again, weren't you?"

Marry's expression softened, her eyes drifting into a dreamy haze.

"Di… he's all I see day and night. He looks so perfect."

Daisy lightly tapped her head. "Have some shame. Your elder sister is standing here."

Marry hugged her tightly. "You're my life. I can't hide anything from you."

Daisy's smile lingered, but something unreadable flickered in her eyes.

"Never hide anything," she said quietly.

Suddenly Marry jumped up. "Oh no! My mother-in-law is calling me!"

Daisy blinked. "Mother-in-law?!"

"My professor! Today's test! It's already 9:15!" Marry shouted, grabbing her bag and running toward the door.

Their mother was cleaning the table but secretly watching her daughter rush out. Just before leaving, Marry suddenly turned back, ran to her mother, kissed her cheek, and smiled brightly.

"Love you, Jaanu!"

Her mother tried to maintain an annoyed expression but failed. "Go, you crazy girl."

Marry laughed and ran out of the house.

The mother shook her head, smiling softly. "Such a mad child. I wonder when she'll grow up."

Daisy stepped beside her.

"She will, Mom."

The mother nodded and walked away.

Daisy remained standing there, watching the door through which Marry had disappeared. A slow smile formed on her lips—different from before.

"Just a few more days…" she whispered to herself..

Her eyes darkened slightly.

"…and everything will fall into place."
